  1. I'm starting to get the feeling it might be Mowbray, his teams play the way Cortese wants, he's got promotion experience, been relatively successful wherever he's been with the exception of Celtic, and seems like he might be a bit less headstrong than Pardew. Probably still end up with Howe though....
  2. Apologies if someone has already mention this, but what if Liebherr's family want to be a bit more hand on than Markus was? It's possible they've indicated something which meant Cortese felt now was the time to act. Just a thought......
  3. If it's going to be an Italian, Bologna sacked their coach Franco Colomba a few days ago due to new owners wanting their own man. He kept them in Serie A last year and has managed a fair few Serie A & B clubs. Surprised no one's mentioned Alan Irvine, doing well with Wednesday, familiar with the Championship, and as David Moyes' former assistant certainly knows the Premier League too. Big difference between us and Wednesday is that they are skint and will probably be in administration within a year. My only concern is that he though Ostemoboor was good enough to sign... Certainly better than Phil Brown or Kevin Blackwell. However, I have a feeling it will be Zola. He did well enough with West Ham in their first season, particularly as he was saddled with all the duds Curbishley had brought in (Kieron Dyer etc....).
  4. And 50% are going bald
  5. I thought the ban was limited to SMS and the training ground. As Mr Bick's speech was broadcast outside St Mary's church into the public domain I doubt they have any copyright over it. Plus arguing over that at a time like this would make the club look REALLY bad.
  6. RIP Markus. Thanks for everything.
  7. Anyone wanting to do a combination Saints promotion/Skates relegation bet would probably want to wait till after May 6th to see if Pompey get liquidated or not.
  8. I'd be more worried about having Millwall and Huddersfield in this division next year. Both clubs are relatively financially sound with good managers, I can only see more of the same from them if they're still down here. Leeds and Charlton are both financially overstretched for this level, and both clubs would probably sack their managers if they don't go up leading to some turmoil. I think the recession is really going to bite football clubs a lot harder next season as this season's budget's would probably have been agreed with the bank/lenders when they were still favourable to that sort of thing. As we've already seen Ince has walked out on MK Dons due to their cost-cutting next season, and I'm sure the Carlisle manager was saying there would be similar cutbacks for them next year. I have a feeling Leeds would suffer the most from not going up, they're still paying all those debts they agreed to from when they came out of administration, and I bet they didn't budget to be in this league for so long. Combined with losing Beckford and Grayson, they would probably struggle even more next year to get automatic promotion. Fortunately we don't have to worry about money Just my opinion though, I could be completley wrong!
  9. Umm, didn't Antonio score today from a Papa cross? As others have said, sign them both up.
  10. In honour of Cortese we should start calling ourselves the Bianco-rossi, that really rolls off the tongue:rolleyes:
  11. I meant near the front or the back of the block, I know it's high.
  12. Ordered mine on 2nd day of the 2nd stage, got them on Thursday. I'm in row 32 of Block 524, is that near the front or the back? The girl on the phone when I ordered said it was near the front, but then I'm pretty sure she said the block was on the north side of the stadium!
  13. I'm posting this here as I'm not able to post new threads. But with all the Pompey stuff going on, no one seems to have noticed that Southend face a very real threat of going out of business. Does anyone know whether this would have a positive or negative effect on the table for us if their results were wiped out?
  14. Apologies if the answer to this question is buried somewhere elseon this thread, but what happens to the whole promotion system if Pompey go bust? Would we qualify for the play-off's by finishing 7th as the Championship would need an extra team as only 2 would be coming down from th PL?
  15. http://www.2018england.co.uk/2018-stadiums.html Looking at the KC on the link above, maybe the best thing would be to just extend the Kingsland, gives us a few extra thousand but doesn't over extend ourselves?
  16. If anyone wants my ticket e-mail me at chrisp500@yahoo.com. Seems I don't have pm's....?
  17. I still have a spare ticket, in block 16. If anyone's interested PM me quickly as I'm leaving for Southampton at 9.
  18. Hi, I have a spare ticket in the Chapel end, PM me if you're interested.
  19. Do the clubs get to decide which strip they wear, or do the Football League just flip a coin? I would favour a one off shirt though. Guess it depends whether its Carlisle (blue/red) or Leeds (white/yellow). Would have thought our away strip would only be used if it was Leeds in white, the other strips are too similar in tone or colour.
  20. Ticket Office is staying open late tonight: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1955323,00.html?
