Wasn't the win over Leyton Orient at home last season Russell Slade's first game?
-
Didn't know Alf Ramsey played for us.
-
I agree with this totally.
-
That's what I was hoping, but knowing our luck it probably means they already have someone ready to go who'll get them to raise their game.
-
Interestingly there's no mention on the BBC article about a caretaker manager (the assistant's been sacked as well), so maybe they already have someone in place?
-
I was at the game at the Withdean yesterday, and they weren't exactly the liveliest bunch. Apart from a bit of singing in the first 5 mins and after the penalty you'd hardly know they were there.

I'm not legally trained, but did work in the Court Service for 2 years, and having seen a few of these sort of cases pass through (albeit at Crown Court level), if Barnard was the main instigator, he would have been charged by now. Think about it, you don't arrest the 3 accessories to a crime, but then bail the main offender for 2 months, do you? My guess is he is an accessory, and they don't have enough evidence to charge him yet. It would be interesting to find out whether the other 3 have appeared before the magistrates yet, if they have then I think my theory above is probably correct. If they've now been released on bail, then its possible the police are considering charging all 4 and Barnard could have played a more important role in the incident. This is all just idle speculation, but informed speculation if you get what I mean. For all the people on here who were there or know people who were there, does anyone else think its odd that no one can confirm who the other 3 that the rozzers carted off were?

Rumours of Saints player being arrested after trouble?
Seaside Saint 2 replied to Tractor_Saint's topic in The Saints
The longer this goes on without media interest, the more suspicious I am. He'd be up in the magistrates this morning, so its very odd there's not even a whiff of "footballer up on assault charges" anywhere on the net.... -
I think we'll get 7 points from our next 3 games, whether this is a 2-0 win or a 1-1 draw I'm not sure, get the feeling we still might have a few kinks to iron out yet before we go on a run.
-
Barnard in for Connolly and if Martin's fit I'd bring him in in place of Seabourne, and replace Hammond or Schneiderlin with Guly. Otherwise same as tonight.
-
While I think automatic promotion is probably a long shot now, I still think we can make the top 6.
-
+1 except for that last remark about a diploma.
-
Considering how difficult their chairman has been over the last week I'd be surprised whether it'd be worth the effort trying to prise away any of their players even on loan.
-
As I understood he already has all his coaching badges? Plus a couple of degrees!
-
Glad he's here, and as I mentioned in another thread starting with an away game will take the fans pressure of him for a bit, and hopefully we can run out against Colchester with a bit more confidence on Saturday.
-
Maybe, but he won the League with Sc*nthorpe with an arguably weaker team than we have. I also think that this season League 1 will be far more even than last year, Wednesday have already started to stutter and will probably go into administration at some point. Other than Peterborough and Huddersfield none of the other teams who are performing well at the moment have the quality or depth of squad to keep up the momentum throughout the season. We have 1 more point than we did at this stage last season (disregarding the 10 point deduction) and are better placed to exploit the loan market than we were last season. If NA is as good as I suspect he is at this level then we should be ok. Can't remember who posted about managers dropping down a level and succeeding, but Gary Johnson seems to be doing alright at Peterborough, and he has similar amount of experience of League 1 as NA does. So I'm quietly optimistic, but that counts for bugger all....
-
If it is Adkins, one thing that will work in his immediate favour is that our next 2 games are away. He won't have the pressure of the home fans on his back, and if he can win both of those games then we could be top 6 by the time Colchester visit, which would make for a much better atmosphere, and could build up the momentum we need.
-
Maybe its taken a week to get S*****horpe to agree to let him speak to us?

"@TractorSaint It's ok, still alive. Just been busy making endless trips between Costa Coffee in Southhampton airport & the De Vere . . . :)" This has just been posted on the club's twitter site. I guess they do read this forum!

Maybe Roy Hodgson realised what a lost cause Liverpool really are?

I went along today. Good game, Brighton were winning 4-1 at half time and won 4-3 in the end.. However AP didn't turn up even though he was listed in the program, but neither did Chris Coleman or Mark Bright who were also supposed to play. Gus Poyet was good value, clearly enjoying himself and having a laugh with everybody. My 3 year old also enjoyed it so it might be time to take him along to St Mary's once the current Sh*tstorm dies down.

Few rumours and rumblings...

That first one would be a blatant breach of contract even if it was true....... -
His attendance was only mentioned in the Argus (local paper) today, so I'd imagine he's still going. I might head down, only a fiver and for a good cause. A good test to see if my 3 year old has the attention span for a full football match as well Gus Poyet is supposed to turn out for Brighton too.
