  1. Cheers for the info, think I might email the stadium about the autographs.
  2. I'm going to be in New Hampshire this month and am planning to go to the Copa America QF in Boston which will hopefully be between Argentina and either Mexico or Uruguay. I can't find much detail on what the match-day experience is like at the Gillette Stadium though. Has anyone been before? Is the food and drink reasonable (price and/or quality) or should I and my son have something before we get to the ground? Do American stadiums have something similar to the UK where you can wait outside for the team in the hope of getting something signed (son will obviously want to try and see Messi up close if possible)? Will there be any Copa America merchandise on sale for these matches (and is it worth buying)? Thanks in advance for any responses.
  3. I think you're right, no incumbent British government has increased their share of the vote at an election since WWII, so seems unlikely that the Tories will do anything more than hold steady at best.
  4. He's been "outstanding"
  5. But a long cup run is the perfect practice for the fixture congestion that Europa or CL football would bring, so why not acclimatise ourselves now?
  6. Born in Southampton, live in Dibden Purlieu off and on till I was 7, then moved to NZ. Came back to the UK to go to Uni (Edinburgh) where I started watching football again and seemed obvious to support the team from where I was born (helped that Scottish football is cr*p and/or sectarian).
  7. I miss when Carlton Palmer was on Final Score and he used to wind Crooks up all the time by (it appeared on purpose) disagreeing with every point he made. That was great TV.
  8. I'm not sure what Italy's CL TV deal is like, but I"m pretty sure the domestic league allows individual clubs to negotiate their own rights unlike the PL where its all centralised. If Juventus were able to negotiate their own CL deal then that would explain their inflated revenues.
  9. Salif Diao (used to play for Stoke). Diao means f*ck in Mandarin.
  10. Disappointing, but compared to this time last season 4 places higher with 4 points more and almost double the goal difference. Not getting too worried (yet!).
  11. Between when Strachan left and Pardew arrived I would say Pearson was the only decent manager we had in those barren years.
  12. Great article. The Guardian has the better overall football coverage, but I've always liked the quality of the Telegraph's match write-ups.
  13. This could describe most articles on TUI.
  14. The second challenge by Fonte definitely wasn't a booking. The slow motion replay showed the Swansea player jumped over him, no contact made.
  15. Absolutely!
  16. Would prefer Zaha over either Townsend or Redmond, but think Townsend would be as good if not better than Redmond.

  18. We seemed very effective at getting the ball back last night, but not sure how much that was down to the level of opposition.
  19. I've never understood that, been to a couple of Brighton home games and they're always quiet, while their away support is usually very good and vocal.
  20. As others have said, decent all round performance, good passing and marking was pretty good too. First time I've seen Targett and was impressed, controlled the ball well, got stuck in, and was looking to get the ball into the box when possible. Bertrand was good going forward but a bit rusty in defence, at one point in the first half he had a Brighton player running at him with the ball and looked like he was a rabbit caught in the headlights. Isgrove showed a lot of determination and effort, not quite as impressed as some others as I didn't really see much of an end product coming from him, but definitely has potential to be a decent squad player. Tadic was great, and Pelle looked like he was having an off day, really should have scored at the end.
  21. It is a direct bus but does stop along the way, takes about 1 1/2 hours. Last bus back is around 9pm though. There is a night bus to Uckfield : http://www.buses.co.uk/travel/service.aspx?serviceid=1224 but nothing to TW You could always try the nightbus to Uckfield and then maybe find your way from there.
  22. If you're coming from Tunbridge Wells area may be easier to take the number 28 or 29 bus which goes past the stadium. I think there may also be a train service via Gatwick from Tunbridge Wells or Tonbridge but probably involves a few changes.
  23. I emailed Brighton's ticket office on Monday, they said Saints will be selling away tickets, probably in the next few days.
  24. Anyone bought tickets for the Brighton game yet? If we have to purchase from Brighton directly do we need to register with them? Can't see anything on either club's OS about away tickets for this match.
  25. Possibly, but look at other high profile academies in England: West Ham, Crewe, Man City, Fulham. Man City are the only ones to have won anything in decades and that's nothing to do with their academy.
