  1. I was at Sheff Weds where Kelvin single-handedly won us 2 points with his last minute super-save. I was at Tranmere where Davis's two errors cost us 3 points (or 1 point as we never scored anyway). A bit of a conundrum really.
  2. I think if, at the start of the week, you'd have said we'd get four points from an away game at Oldham and a home game against Notts County I would have bitten your hand off. It's a bit disappointing as I was at Oldham and saw how we can play if you get in the opposition faces which we certainly didn't do today
  3. YAWN!!!!!! F**k me. I'm soooooooooo glad I don't sit anywhere near you. I can't criticise any Saints fan who wants to support our team in any way they see fit
  4. YAWN!!!!!!!!
  5. That was a superb performance. We really put on an impecable show. AP was right when he said the pressure was off away from SMS. I'm loving it :-)
  6. I wish we'd give Bart a chance. Kelvin just can't come for a cross to save his life. He should dominate his six yard box but never, ever does. A great shot stopper but his failings on crosses, like for their goal, costs us dear time and time again IMO. My MOM; Butterfield
  7. The first half was a bit insipid (if that's a word). Pre-season is to get fit and to play some matches. It worries me a bit, having watched the first half, that the biggest test we'll face is Reading FFS. Eastleigh as out last friendly worries me a bit that we're not going to be ready :-(
  8. Half-time 0-2. Playing in the new away kit which surprised me.
  9. I paid £45 for my long sleeved version.
  10. Hartlepool. 7 hours on the travel club on the way up and 6.5 hours on the way back on a Tuesday night but with so many Saints fans making the journey it made it a fantastic night. And we won. Carlisle after Jaidi equalised and the team and fans went absolutey mental in unison. MK Dons in the JPT SAF first leg. Great, unexpected, turnout by Saints fans. Worst by a long way was Huddersfield. Completely outplayed from start to finish :-(
  11. I've been to 48 out of the 58 games so far and yes he works his ******** off but he can't trap a bag of cement. Sorry if you don't agree :-(
  12. Just on the way home. It was a good move IMO by Pardew to experiment with the squad, especially as 7th is guarenteed if we beat Southend next week, and it proved that James is not good enough but also Martin may have a future. Puncheon was crap as was James and Lallana but the player who disappointed me the most was Barnard. I thought that when we signed him he must be good as he'd scored 17 goals for an average side like Southend which ain't bad. But he just hasn't done it for us except when he comes on as a sub. His close control is really awful and he tends to lose every ball played up to him. The complete opposite of Lambert. Mills had a great first half but he was the only one. Lambert showed why we aren't the same without him and Papa, as with Barnard, is a better sub. As I say, this is the time to experiment so I'm not that gutted. I thought Hammond had a good game and Fonte had to be brought off before he got a second yellow. Other than that I'm quite happy.
  13. Just back from the game. I thought that we never seriously looked like conceding at any stage but lacked a little thrust but quite comfortable nonetheless. Puncheon was superb and it's the best I've seen Seabourne play and I've seen them all. Same for Barnard. Is Barnard a better sub? That's at least 2 last minute goals coming on as a sub to get us points. Their defender should definitely have been sent off when Barnard was through and about to take on their keeper one on one. COYS
  14. Is that 10 wins from the last 11 home league games? That's terrible. I expect to win every home game ;-)
  15. I always get confused (easily done I know) during away games when, whilst watching my team in dark blue shirts, the song 'YELLOWS, YELLOWS.........' is belted out. What's that all about? ;-) COYS!
  16. An incredible fan (and man). I hope I have half of his enthusiam if I make 79. A truly deserved award.
  17. Does anyone realise that if we beat Swindon on Tuesday and we win our game in hand we'll only be 10 points off the pace :-). A win at MK Dons will help too.
  18. The ref was no where near as bad as that t0sser at Tranmere. At least Walton didn't affect the result like the ref did last week. A great win against a team who look poor. Poor because that's how we made them look. Again everyone had a role and played their part well, even Barnard although he was not effective as he has been.
  19. For the record guys; apart from the 6 yard box the pitch looked perfectly playable for a footballing side today so don't use that as an excuse please. Andy :-(. Lallana, no. He just had an off day as we all do. He will be better next time imo.
  20. That was the worst refereeing I've seen for a very long time. *Hopeless. *It certainly affected our balance as every time we touched them the ref gave a foul but when we were bundled over the ref played on and you could see the heads drop :-(. Barnard had a certain penalty (right in front of us) turned down but their penalty was too far away for me to judge. Morgan and Barnard were the pick for me but no one else shone. *Kelvin can't come for a cross and never has been able to which mystifys me as to why he gets so much praise for being inept in such a huge part of a goalkeepers armoury. *The player who disappointed me the most was Lallana. *Everything he touched turned to sh!t in a sort of reverse Midas touch. Oh well, never mind. *The train left Lime Street on time. Bring on dirty Leeds.
  21. The most comprehensive performance for many a year IMO. It's not often I want the game to go on when we're winning but it was that enjoyable. I voted for MOTM but it was a very tough choice as every, and I mean EVERY, player played their part.
  22. That's the first game I've missed since Southend away (due to illness) so I did the Sky/Solent thing. I forgot how much more stressfull that could be so I won't be doing that again in a hurry. I'm a physical and mental wreck :-(
  23. I have 4 season tickets, one for me and 3 for the rest of the family. I bought the three family half season tickets in early December. After an hour on the phone yesterday they told me I couldn't have my two season tickets in block 8 as they were purchased at the same time as the season ticket in block 42 as they were linked and, as such, unavailable. Pathetic :-(
  24. It is always very, very difficult to break down a team with absolutely no ambition whatsoever. *It wasn't pretty but there was only one team in it from start to finish and that was us by a very long way. Otsemobor, Seabourne and Fonte didn't have much to do but what they had to do they looked very comfortable doing it. *Great signs for the long term. Morgan had his best game for a while which pleased my daughter although I had to suffer in the car on the way home with Morgan this and Morgan that all the way :-) Anyway, job well done and I can't think of a better outcome under the circumstances.
  25. I am very disappointed this morning :-( A few games further into the season when the back four have got a bit more used to one another and we'll be hot. Second game together is not easy especially if you're trying to play catch up with the rest of the league and everyone's expecting you to win easily (the highest we've had our expectations for some time I would say). The thing I notice more than anything is how strong the team looks. We seem to be in control for most games but let ourselves down occasionally which is to be expected. However, the ten minutes leading up to their goal was awful. I immediately blamed Davis for not commanding his area on the many occasions the ball was pinged into the area during that time but perhaps that's a little unfair on Davis as I couldn't see everything from so far away (the other end of the pitch). We still have an outside chance of making the PO's but it's starting to look a little like a bridge too far for this season :-( I still can't believe that it was only a few months ago that we very nearly didn't have a club and now look at us, almost running before we can walk. I had a fabulous, SMS, stadium tour in the morning.
