  1. Fox being relieved of his duties.
  2. I, unfortunately, won't be re-subscribing next season. For the first game of the season (manure) I was quite impressed with the atmosphere, seating arrangements, beer selection (draught Becks), quick bar service and food. I need to get to games quite early as I go with a disabled friend and it was a pleasant experience plus I knew it would be a good place to be during the freezing weather until just prior to kick-off. That rapidly changed though with the removal of most of the seating, no hot food and unavailability of hot drinks. I wrote a couple of traditional snail mail letters to the management suggesting the re-instatement of the situation as it was at the start of the season (they completely lost my first letter) and within the next few weeks some of the seating (not all) and hot food returned. I will say though that the staff are very friendly and helpful and they were gobsmacked at the time at how the club had deteriorated over the few short weeks since the start of the season. I got the impression that the Dell Sports Bar is not the highest priority of the club (understandably so) and had decided not to put any effort into keeping the patrons onside.
  3. Don't change. My tattoo would be out of date.
  4. I'd play my, one-legged, Auntie Flo instead of Guly. A real shoe-in if you want a direct replacement.
  5. That is an amazing coincidence JRM as it will be my 79th (all involving Saints). However, I think that I may loose a couple at the end of the season with some of the clubs at the bottom of League 2 in trouble. I do want Luton to get promoted though in order to replace one of the grounds I am going to lose.
  6. Lambert did not have his best game yesterday IMO but what little he did do was pure class (I also watched Football First when I got home - sad!). My daughter commented during the game on how many times he just let the defender win the ball in a 50/50 challenge particularly in the air. However, I fully understand that the good that comes from Lambert far outweighs the inconsistency.
  7. If said supporter in question leaves on 80 minutes every single game how come he was there in the 90th minute when Mayuka made the run. Weird ;-)
  8. Saints Reserves
  9. Although you are totally mad if you think that an internet forum/e-mail list can keep a persons signature (or name) out of the domain once something of a sensitive nature is revealed, the way that Andy Beal abused the original request makes him/her the biggest cooont in the world. I hope he gets outed and I get a chance to meet the pee-rick.
  10. I have never, ever booed the team, or members of, even AFTER a humilating defeat and I know the question is meant in the best possible taste but people can boo if they like. It's up to them so what god given right do I, or anyone else, have to criticise?
  11. Although I'm getting totally fed up with Adkin's Guly fixation (it was the same with Strachan/Telfer and Burley/Jermaine Wright) I say keep him as he will be totally qualified to get us back up once we get relegated which is where we're, surely, heading (after Saturaday's complete shambles).
  12. The Northam Social is too far to walk for my disabled friend plus they, the Northam Social management, are a bunch of ***ts IMO.
  13. I joined the Dell Sports Bar this season and I quite liked it at first. I joined because I need to get to the ground very early because I go with an elderly disabled gentleman and, in the depths of winter, it seemed like a good idea. For the manure game the atmosphere was great and I thought I'd spent my money wisely. However, for the Vila game, we decided that we would try the hot food. In their wisdom, the management had decided to remove the majority of seating so we had nowhere to sit and eat a plated meal (so we didn't bother). So I decided to write a polite letter to request that the seating be reinstated so we could take advantage of the hot food. YAY, the club management resolved my issue for not being able to sit and eat by, not reinstating the seating, but doing away with the hot food. Not only that, but they have stopped serving tea and coffee as well. It could be that the reason why it has become so poor was that it was an early kick-off so we'll see what the spurs game brings.
  14. It has always bemused me as to why people think that we would ever get more than 32,500. I've been going since the mid-sixties and, apart from numerous Japanese folk in the ground yesterday (hundreds rather than thousands), I can remember very few games where demand outstripped supply. Even in the early seventies when the Dell had a capacity of 31,000, that was rarely filled to capacity.
  15. I went to the Liverpool/Wimbledon FA Cup final the year before the Hillsborough disaster and I was totally shocked/scared at the actions of the Liverpool fans. I had a ticket for the neutral side (opposite the royal box) and it was full of Liverpool fans. Whilst queuing to get in, there were hundreds and hundreds of ticketless Liverpool fans pushing and shoving, trying to gain entry. At one stage a cry came up from the Liverpool fans at the back to 'storm the gates'. With this I was carried and squashed by the sea of fans and, I can honestly say, I feared for my life. You had to be there to witness the utter thoughtlessness shown by the Liverpool fans to appreciate the difficulty the decision was to (mistakenly in my view) open the gates at Hillsborough. There were so many ticketless Liverpool fans there that I did not get to the turnstiles until well after kick-off.
  16. Bringing on two subs, one a strapping centre forward on the left wing and a diminutive winger at centre-forward and then pumping high balls up to the said winger for the rest of the game.
  17. I saw Crouch standing outside the City Ground with his daughter just before the last game before we went into League 1. For no reason I felt overwhelmed to go and shake him by the hand and thank him for all he had tried to do. It made me feel better anyway even if he thought 'who was that knob?'
  18. I heard Hammond to Charlton with Hamer in return
  19. I'd like to know how come he's such an expert on the Bologne financial situation too. He does seem to speak with a great deal of authority on the subject.
  20. The only people who have wasted time are the people who are speculating. Saints have never said that they have been involved with any negotiations
  21. Pretty much.
  22. Do we ever learn? The club are fantastic at creating smoke screens to deflect attention away from realistic targets like Phillips. They do this every time without confirming anything throughout the entire process and leaving us to speculate out of all proportion. Get used to it as it won't be the last time they do it.
  23. A thoroughly enjoyable evening only spoiled by those beggars who wanted to stand and make such a consistent noise in my ear'ole . We weren't great in the first half but that team would walk League 1 IMO. Still not that impressed with Lee though. JWP was the stand-out for me.
  24. Thanks for clarifying that Saint Garrett, I didn't realise that is how it's calculated. Complaint withdrawn ;-)
