The Dell literally rocked and wobbled during the Leicester City Great Escape game. Awesome.

On the evidence so far, Forster will gain us the most points. Fantastic thread

Alright mate. I've known you for quite some time now and a, more, passionate Saints fan I'm yet to meet. I think that I am in the minority now of fans that were there at Wembley in 76. TBH the best day of my life (apart from my kids). We had a real chance this season (much more so than 2003) for a repeat. With nothing else to play for this season why, oh why, oh why play Guly and the rest? That is what is so frustrating. I don't think MoPo understands what the FA Cup means to the long term Saints fan but, hopefully, it'll come back into fashion sooner rather than later and we'll go for it. Still, I'd rather be complaining about being being knocked out of the cup by Sunderland away when we should have gone for it instead of complaining about being relegated to League 1 by Burnley at home (remember that day people :-))

Not so. Other cup games earlier this season we had something else to worry about. There was a chance we could get drawn into a relegation fight or compete for a European slot. Today there was no such distractions at all so absolutely no need to rest players. MoPo hasn't made too many errors but today was one. Also, I hope he's learnt what none of our previous managers seem not to have done and see Guly for what he is. How does Guly still get a game?

The night I lost complete respect for CN. We had an outside chance but what did Nichol do. He played the most defensive formation ever not to lose in the home leg (the first leg). PAH!!!

I know the OP is a wind up but the atmosphere on Saturday was electric all game. Usually, after 15 minutes, the tendency is for the volume and intensity to slightly drop but no. Saturday was absolutely fantastic. The biggest irony, however, was when the Fulham fans, whose away support is less impressive than Wigan's, sung; "Your support if f***ing s**t". They did redeem themselves later though (We want two)

Anyone named their pet with a Saints related name?

My dogs name is Saint -
Lambert is a much better player than Pahars ever was IMO. Top 5 real Saints legends worthy of the name in chronological order in my Saints supporting time: Ron Davies Mick Channon Steve Williams Matt Le Tiss Rickie Lambert Pahars would not be one of them.

We couldn't play Shaw if he's off to manure for 20 mill on Monday.

Be careful how annoyed you get. Imagine this: You don't actually see the wall get closed so it is not beyond the realms of possibility that they took the stuff out after filming finished. We get all indignant and insist on these people getting punished and their bosses kicked off site only to, later, remove the wall section to find nothing. How would that make us look? A lot worse IMHO. What a wheeze that would be for them.

I got into all sorts of trouble on another forum when I said that if you're not from Southampton you will never really understand the hatred thing from that end of the M27. My comment wasn't about being a better supporter because I am local, but that's just how people reacted. I will say it again that unless you've been exposed to their hatred (locally) you will never get the feeling. I'm, also, not saying everyone in Southampton/Portsmouth hates each other. It just depends on how much you've been exposed to it (and I worked down there for years).

England will NEVER win a tournament. Not with the unelected, unaccountable FA in charge. Along with the diabolical squad selections, they have been the underlying problem for decades and we can't do a thing about it so I don't bother letting it get to me any more.

My favourite pitch invasion was the Leeds United League Cup Semi at the Dell in '79. Hands up if you were the only one on the pitch without a wedge haircut ;-) As for this year; it was always mandatory in the 70's and 80's to get on the pitch so it's not such a weird thing to do for a certain generation but I agree with the majority that in these times it's a bit naff when there's nothing major to celebrate. But if everyone else did I'd feel obliged to join in for old times sake.

That's the trouble with an unelected, unaccountable FA. Look who runs the England setup. It was much better when the Football League ran the league and the FA just concentrated on England and the cup like it used to be. Football has gone downhill since the FA have had overall control.

You are way off the mark Dan, sorry. The intense hatred, particularly from that end of the M27, was even more intense, IMO, before Matt's autobiography. You may not be old enough to remember. If you are, please accept my apologies. I do, and always have, agreed with you with respect to anti-Pompey songs. In all my years of supporting Saints I just couldn't see the point of even mentioning them, particularly if we're not even playing them. They're so off my radar I don't really care about them. I'd much prefer to put my energy into supporting Saints rather than giving them any credence.
