  1. I'm sorry I missed it - but it's been a hard season to take in love-in or not. The result didn't matter, and if it was the last ever game for SFC 1885 - the fans that were there did us proud. The coming weeks will make more interesting reading than the threads on under par Championship footballers, over paid primadonnas, and Dutch know how! No more Rupert, new money and hopefully a new squad of players with desire. Last season we asked for commitment - we got some this season but there just wasn't the strength, experience or quality. Call me old fashioned but I want it to mean so much more for the players than a fat cheque at the end of the week! Good luck SFC 1885 - business as normal in August?
  2. I believe deep down the -10-points will not apply come August 2009! Don't ask me why but I think we have a get out clause hidden in the agenda! We'll walk this league!
  3. Been back about 30mins - had my tea and considered my second post of the day! What a load of boll*x! We were never really in the game - Wednesday always first to the ball. We created 2-chances in the first half a McGoldrick header that he should of buried but lofted over the bar, and Euell in on goal shinned it and the keeper saved (for a corner). We were second best in every department. No energy, no passion and no idea! We are down, and the players know it, the fans know it, and Wotte knows it! Get ready for the hail of bullets - better if the club dies, because then I won't feel guilty about not going any more. It hurts at the moment to know the "super stars" at Southampton are more like over pampered pussy cats! Get used to it lads no saviour now. No rich sugar daddy to come in and change our fortunes. It won't belong before we have a ground share with Eastleigh - or Salisbury! The fans today were great. I thought the atmosphere until the second goal was very tense but still behind the boys. The second goal was the killer (as they say)! Performances to mention - James had a good game and showed plenty of commitment. Skacel was a player substituted - but never really turned up. The problem up front was always 2-players going for the same ball - and to be honest never looked like they had played together. The midfield was woeful - none of the Surman, Wotton, McGoldrick or Lallana put in a performance. Sure Wotton huffed and puffed and showed more than a little aggression - but honestlyt it's not enough! Get used to mickey mouse grounds, mickey mouse policing, and hard core fans in Division 1. I will take it or leave it - I can't ewatch this rubbish any more. I love football but what is served up by my team doesn't resemble u-14 level. I know as a (so called) fan people will describe me as a fair weather supporter, sing when we're winning type - but the whole mess at the football club has me seething. It's easy to blame Lowe, or Portvleit, or Wotte - but guys the eleven players on the pitch have let us down badly. Sure we were experimenting with playing the youth team, but I look at the names in play today - and only James and Lallana were "youth" the rest were seasoned professionals with plenty of experience. I was going to come "home " for the Burnley game, and venture to Forest - but I can't take it any more this season. I'll stay at home with the wife, have a stroll into town for a coffee and then do some gardening. It's a hell of a lot cheaper and a lot less stressful. I know who I blame. It's not the watching Saints lose - I've had that for over 40-years. But enough is enough. I went through this after a drubbing at OT a few seasons back, but then it was lack of effort. These players try but aren't good enough. Saying that playing in another team with a different manager, and set up they may flourish - please get rid of the lot and try again. We need a new brush to sweep clean in my opinion. If any players read these pages - hang your heads in shame! You were a shambles this afternoon like for most of the season. As a football club we got what we deserved - relegation to a lower division. It's the fans (well all those uber fans/ultras) I feel sorry for. I'm lucky - I still have memories to fall back on. Ru[ert Lowe killed my passion and part of my life. RIP SFC doomed to low league status for many years to come!
  4. Pleased with the win - but is it too little too late? These next 3-weeks are going to be so hard to get through - but fortunately no internet warrior during the last three games of the season! Let's see the turn out at Hillsborough. The best I can ever remember there was after we thrashed United 6-3. I think every neutral in Sheffield turned out to watch Saints that day - along with some Israeli students turning out to support Berkovic! Even remember the stewards saying - "Where did you lot all come form?" Two things to remember at Hillsborough - usually pay at the gate available and no alcohol in the away end. The third thing to remember is the dismall away pub miles uphill from the ground! See you there!!!!!
  5. Put this season behind you and accept we are down - to rise from the ashes of despair like the phoenix of the south. Honestly we have struggled all season, the players aren't up to it, and certainly the management and motivation has been a big feature in the lack of performance. A few players have stood out - and who could blame Kelvin looking for a move after virtually keeping our hopes up all season. Anyone interested in the club will see the club for what it is - not a sleeping giant but a club with a possionate fan base, and the ability to compete at the top level, given the chance. Next seaon will be just as hard as this - but at least withe the right backing and finances in place, and a decent manager we have a slim chance of coming stright back up like Leicester. If nothing else we can visit new grounds, new pubs and new cultures - Hartlepool for example, a place where they hang monkies for being French spies! Every cloud has a silb#ver lining - so stop diluding yourself - WE ARE GOING DOWN! See you at Sheffield Wednesday next week?
  6. Cant be bothered reading all of the previous posts but here's my view after getting in about 10.45 last night. We are awful on the right side! They always outnumbered Jake at RB as there was none stopping Primus going forward - he looked quite good with all that space! Young Jake was left exposed time after time, and no one wanted to tackle anyone once they got in the area. Especially after getting that penalty. Gutted after yesterdays performance, and that bloody stand-of in the car park was pathetic! I came out of the Itchen North to head through the car park to be greeted by scenes from yesteryear! All I wanted to do was to get to the bridge - I was pushed and shoved by stewards and just avoided a swipe from an over zealous young copper - who was clearly getting very charged up! What made me laugh was the copper with dogs just stood back! Should have let the brutes go!!! Charlton fans I spoke wuith afterwards were fine about it - well they had won! As for the rest of the performance - we were overcome by the crowd again. Mark Dennis sujmmed it up we have no big game players - they all are shrinking violets. We are threee players away from having a team - and why do we always resort to hoofing it Euell? Why don't we mix it up a bit? Charlton bottom of the league - they didn't l;ook that bad to me - but we were dire! My firsat game and I was discusted about the mnass exodus form Itchen North 1 & 2when they scored their third. The result does matter - but yesterday was about the celebration of removing Lowe. He has however broken the spirit of Block 1 & 2. It was soleless - well done Block 4 who looked to have been there all season. Never thought when the Northam chanted We're The Northam - we didn't respond in numbers. Great show, great weather, crap result! Mark Dennis reckoned 51 points would see us safe. Can't see us winning 3 and drawing 2 of our remaining games - and with 58-points (if we won all our games) less the 10 leaves us with 48 max. Face guys yesterday was a must win and we blew it! Going down with The Charlton - never a truer chant!
  7. I have a ticket in Block 1. We're The Itchen - and we're back!
  8. He's goin down He's goin down He's goin Rupert's goin down
  9. I just tried to get ticket for Block 1 or Block 2 and I was told nothing available. Could not confirm if sold out or was not opening! So much for wanting customers! I'll leave it until tomorrow and see if I get any luck in Block 1 or Block 2 - but I would imagine this corner would be last to open. I was offered a ticket in the other corner - so lets hope that that gets sold out first. No bad blood between Saints and Charlton fans - police presence will be high anyway so why not open the Itchen North Corner?
  10. Fellow fans - I can't get Solent either, but rest assured I'll be there on Saturday now for sure (Michelle - get us a ticket in Block 1). The fact must be with Mr.Lowe out of the way - all the assets of SFC must be sold. The football club is just one of those items. The administrators will have to do their best for the creditors. This may mean selling the club for £1 - if the right package is on offer. I think Rupert has got the message - football is a working class game, funded by working class people. I don't think he will be back. The shares they own are worthless as they belong to SLH and not SFC. I think there will be many interested parties to see us through until the end of the season, and if we stay up - we will get the investment wanted for the last 4/5-years which Rupert et al never provided. Not longer your club Mr Lowe - and you have very little say in the future (hopefully). Your legacy is St.Marys - like many I thought an exciting development. Looking back now - would these problems been avoided if still at The Dell?

    Blackpool

I wonder if Stu will be ejected again this year? Oh how we laughed when he was frog marched out by Lancashires Finest!! There was a picture posted on here to commemorate and confirm it was him!!! The Waterloo wasn't bad except we watched the Skates win at ManU on their way to Cardiff. Landlord was a big bloke but seemed to enjoy the banter. Filled up with Blackpool fans towards 1pm but it was all good clean fun! It's a bit bleak on that temporary stand - and forget getting anything to eat at HT - fill up before you in! Stewards were absolute kn*bs - and the police not much better - well that's what Stu said in his defence!!! Not got a ticket and paid on the gate last year - doubt if they have a ticket office really. I bet Brett scores against us but won't celebrate with great enthusiasm - after all Kevin Philips is now at Birmingham. It's run down, but is a holiday resort so people are geered up for ***ats all p*ssed up so it's nothing new to them they get it week in and week out. Three points please lads - make my day!
  12. So many twists and turns left...a wi8n at Blackpool next week - followed by a win against Charlton and things will look a lot different. We could do with a win a Watford - but I'm still betting it's Saints oe Forest on the last game of the season. Needed the win - sounds like we have resorted to type again. Lowe out and take your Dutch boyfriend with you!
  13. Along with Stu (but he was outrageous in what he said) I was quoted on the Cardiff forum - but they edited my post! It looked quite bad after editting - but I would like to say no one in this world deserves to be hospitalised like that. I liked a few beers before a game but never went too far so I was unable to see impending dangers. Gaffa must be a top bloke - and I know not all football fans are looking for it. Unfotunately everyone gets tarred with the same brush. I believe our away support are no angels - hence the heavy policing. But honestly why does it come to this - and not attacked by rival fans! Wouldn't wish it on anyone - so get well soon mate, and keep the focus on fighting well and truly for a cause like Afghanistan when it really could be life or death.
  14. To all those who go on the lash before games this is a cold warning of how things can go wrong! By all accounts an army lad just back from a tour. Had a few beers refused admission, and probably still pumped up on testosterone from his tour thought Southampton to be an easy target for all his pumped up frustrations. Having read the article The Echo it appears something happened around 3.30pm. It started inside and went outside. His mate was there by his side but no account of the incident. Don't think too many involved - but it only takes one punch (or blow) to put you in hospital in a coma. I'm "a couple of pints before the game" sort and on some occassions taken it too far. However I've never been refused admission, never gone drinking in someone elses manor when inebriated, and behaved within the usual standards so not to upset anyone. I'm a lover not a fighter! Reading between the lines - wrong time, wrong place and wrong person. Get well soon fella, unfortunately in this world there's always someone to take you down a peg. We all remember we thought we were invincible - some of us aren't! My thoughts go out to your family, girlfriend and mates back in your platoon. I've seen Saints fans acting like this away from home asking for a slap, and sometimes there is someone only too pleased to assist. Interesting how the police are describing this as an incident close to a football ground rather than a football related incident!
  15. Under the circumstances Wotte seems to have built a balanced side. It wasn't rocket science - but perhaps he's his own man and not Lowe's puppet? He has experienced players now fit to call on, and back from being on loan. He has a big centre back who isn't bullied. The players are playing in their best positions and understand what they have to do. Most supporters saw the way forward it seems Jan & Rupert between them didn't have a clue. Rumours of administration still circling, but the fans are getting something to cheer about. I wonder if the protest marches had anything to do with it? Not sure what the remainder of the season holds for us - but Forest away will be one of the key games on that last day. Could be a nail biting end to the season!
  16. Really important win today followed by another three points on Tiesday and win the game in hand puts a number of clubs right back in the mix. How many points will it take to be safe this year? Just goes to show how importnat the game at Forest will be on the last day. Three points at Blackpool wouold be nice too. If only those in charge had listened to the fans about mixing youth with experience earlier. The boycott continues - nothing has changes has it? Lowe is still there... Any spares for Ipswich on Tuesday???
  17. Held off posting until it sunk in! I'd like to say faith has been restored but unfortunately let's see what we do next week! Another win and I may just believe we have turned the corner. Amazing how a change in formation, playing people in the right position, and blending youth with experience works! It's only what most of us have been saying all season - but hey we are just customers!
  18. Yeah let's get him in on as freebie. Play for free kicks on the edge of he box, in the last 10mins, then bring him on a super sub. Cunning plan - it could work! I can see the headlines... "Le Tiss saves The Saints.....again" After saesons out of the game being a pundit on SkySport Saturday afternoons, Matthew Le Tissier dug out his old boots and promised to save the side destined for Division 1 football next season in February 2009. Now in May with Saints now only needing a draw at Nottingham Forest in the last game of the season, Rupert Lowe has hailed this as a great day for Southampton Leisure Holdings. Lowe under some pressure after his "Dutch Experiment" failing, is still in charge at SMS despite taking the club into Admonisitraion earlier this year. "Le God" as he is now forever to be known has vowed never to get involved with politics again, after firing a broadside at Lowe and his cohorts. "It's time for someone else to save this great club. I've done for too many years on my own - the City deserves better!" The statue of Ted Bates outside St.Mary's will always be a tribute to Mr. Southampton, but surely Mr. Le Tissier is worth something more than a Suite in hospitality named ater him?
  19. Very pleased with point after going down to 10-men and 2-1. 1,000 protestors outside before the game? FAN-tastic - well done The March.

    Wilde

I think we are all missing the point with Pearson. He did his best to get us out of a rut. Got the players playing and saved our bacon. He also became a firm fans favourite because he got the team playing with passion (except in Hull). He was a young man, he had affinity with the young lads and the older fans (like me). He may not have set the world on fire but the squad were lazy, unfit and not interested. I think a pre-season with him at the helm, and a mixture of youth and experience we would have been in a much healthier position. For one the fans would have been united, and all this Lowe business would have been never an issue. Infact you have to date he has been remarkably quiet since his return - just how we like it. Just remember it's the fans that dictate the clubs fortunes. The club needs a united fan base because that generates more income. Saints fans are a patient lot - if they believe in a Manager he will get a chance. Poor old Portvleit didn't stand a chance. For a start there is no easy way to chant "Jan Portvleit's red & white army" - however Nigel Pearson's red and white army slipped off the tongue - reason enough for him to be Manager. However look at our record on Managers - we are the most unsettled club in all the league - 11-Managers in 12-years? However we have only had one Chairman - say's it all really. Wilde doesn't count because he has no real say - Lowe is the man in charge for whatever reason. Up the people - let's get it on at The Bargate at 1.30pm and show the world what being a Saints fan is all about.
  21. Not that you'd know anything about that sort of behaviour - eh Ess!
  22. Could be an interesting day with all those Swansea fans coming to SMS. Like I saw in another thread anyone wanting a lift on Saturday from Yorkshire is welcome - route Howden, Doncaster, Rotherham, Nottingham, Leicester, Northampton, Oxford and Newbury...wave me down on a bridge or roundabout! Just as aside - I understand face book has announced a police escort. The club seems to be ignoring the fact there is a march - what are the plans for when we get there? Is the coffin making an appearance? Does anyone else fancy a drink after the march? I'm not setting foot inside SMS! Will need a drink after all that walking prior to going back to the car to drive home! I think the club are in denial - how long will it be before they acknowledge the discontent and the revolting customers. Christened the Lager Swilling Lunatic Fringe let's just be a bit more adult about it on Saturday! Chin, chin and tally-ho. Time's up Rupert Lowe Time's up Rupert Lowe Time for you and Wilde to go E-I-E-I-O And if you think you're staying We simply will not come Clear off, clear off Clear off, clear off Clear off Rupert Lowe (Some will remember Knee's up Mother Brown)
  23. Better than expected after the HT score. Bring on Swansea - without Dyer they are useless! Bring on the March
  24. For all the negatives that Lowe isbn't there on Saturday - I would expect there to be plenty of other shareholders and representatives of Barclays looking at their investment! The fact is the more vocal we are when Lowe isn't there the less chance of him spinning it with the other directors that it's a small minority "lunatic fringe". I understand the game is featured on ITV and there is bound to be cameras there for all the fun when we arrive on private property. Still the old bill will be more worried about Swansea youth trying to start trouble - and we can't afford loads of stewards inside and outside the ground - can we (maybe Lowe says YES? Has anyone taken on the mantle of spokesperson for the march if there is a chance of an interview? I'm sure Nick Illingsworth would be up for it! (Winky smiley thingy). Seriously though it must be thought about - as it is a real chance to get the fans views over. I really think perhaps Fitzhugh Fella might be calm and eloquent enough to get a point over - without any agenda! What about it Dunc? I don't think the magnitude of this march is going to be appreciated until Saturday - it may just be a damp squibb especially if the weather is bad - after all we are all stayaway fair weather fans!!!! This could be just the start - so let's make it count...
  25. How about Happy Days? Oh Brother? DIY SOS? Up Pompey? Carry on Rupert? The (lack of) Money Programme? Love Thy Neighbours?
