  1. Not just the girls then. Always believed the Southampton origin of 'Mush' came from the French explaination/Docks.
  2. Close for them, as you say probably their third or fourth closest obviously not for us hence the fact we were at home. If we were asked to travel 114 miles on Boxing Day when we had 10 other games much closer some fans may rightly have had something to moan about.
  3. For anyone confused, Saints closest games this season driving from central Southampton to: Brighton – 61 miles (High) Wycombe and Swindon – 68 miles Brentford – 69 miles Yeovil – 75 miles Bristol – 78 miles Charlton – 87 miles Millwall – 91 miles Luton – 95 miles Leytonstone (Orient) - 96 miles Exeter – 112 miles The things we do - bought to you courtesy of Multimap
  4. I'm amazed anyone could be "slightly disappointed" with that attendance. It was, comparably, fantastic and only just under our league average. Many other clubs saw a dramatic drop from their usual gates (I wonder what the skates may have pulled had they been playing a non-league side?). We're not anything special but it shows we have a very loyal hardcore.
  5. You speak some truth, 36,000 capacity I believe, although rarely more than a third full but a decent ground for your long awaited, much anticipated return to England's top flight in '87 - the giant was awoken. Oh, you only half filled it that season.
  6. They must be anticipating being a lot busier in the Ticket Office area in the second half of the season.
  7. OK, looks like some of us will probably have to sit with the home fans You could always give us all the top tier as you don't use it!
  8. I'd guess MK will offer us around 5,000 as it's a cup game and they're never going to get near filling it themselves. 32,000 at St Mary's to see us (try and) reach Wembley?
  9. Of course, you could just lead by example and "stop contributing"?
  10. OK not St Mary's but I can remember a game against Man U at the Dell a few years back, the next time we played them after one of theirs tripped himself up and got Casey sent off at OT. It was a cold, misty midweek game and we counted about 30 Mancs in the middle away section of the Archers. I'd imagine they've rarely taken fewer away?
  11. In one of the 'Sundays' it mentioned how the skate's scorer celebrated in front of 2500 empty seats.
  12. What have our next two league opponents got in common? Saints 3-0 up half time, lost 4-3. Ouch. Payback time hopefully.
