  1. And all coming back onto the wage bill in a few weeks time.
  2. ...and to think the last time the scallies get to see their team this season is a drubbing at home and out of the Champions League. If Carling did coronavisus'...
  3. To be fair, it doesn't look like anybody, on here anyway, has taken it seriously.
  4. Some will probably use the coronavirus threat as a reason to give this (unpopular) away day a swerve and then be in 3,000 who go to Old Trafford the following week* *in the unlikely event all fixtures are not played behind closed-doors from April onwards....
  5. And as our last away is Bournemouth where we'll get under 1,200, Man U tickets will be in demand for a last away day for many so hopefully they'll take the full allocation. Not worth taking the full lot for Everton as it's just 7 days before and always the least appealing to our fans and the long, slow haul up to the numerous games in the north west.
  6. The Dell at its best was probably more atmospheric than St Mary's, maybe not so much with constant singing but just making noise. Even the old gits in the upper stands would stamp their feet on the wooden floors and contribute. Today too many don't get involved. Late 1960s, early 70s, Saints most vocal fans were 'under the Toomers' and mostly the middle section of the Milton. The rest of the ground would join in occasionally, usually towards the end of the game with OWTS. Mid-70s the Milton effect lessened and got a bit of competition from the lower West near the players tunnel (Lawrie Mac didn't like the stick he was taking on his walk to the dug-out around that time). The Warrens had made the Archers their home (not big on singing, more for 'bantz' with aways) and the Archers end of the West Stand also became a more vocal area. Late 1970s more had migrated to the Archers and the Milton had mostly fizzled out. Some returned when they rebuilt it to look like a piano. I preferred my days on the lower East terrace in the 80s most.
  7. Yep, not bad going for a month still until the game.
  8. I missed the bit about him being a Saints fan but... "Sunak married Akshata Murthy, the daughter of Indian billionaire" I wonder if his father-in-law wants to buy a football club?
  9. In the 'Allocations' thread yesterday 'oldsarum' said there's only a couple of hundred left from the full allocation, he's normally fairly sound on these matters.
  10. Saw this linked on the UI, a long but interesting read. The Don gets quoted on their too. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/champions-league-superclubs-liverpool-man-utd-barcelona-real-madrid-a9330431.html
  11. But, officially, you're not permitted to stand in them (of course many do as in other seating areas), spurs just saw it worthwhile jumping the gun as rail seating is now looking likely to be given the go-ahead soon. They should still enforce sitting in them until then.
  12. True, but helped having **** Turpin sat in the VAR van in his spurs shirt.
  13. Well, of course, there'll never encourage standing in front of the corp boxes so rules out Itchen North ever seeing change and if safe standing is ever introduced for home fans it will probably be in the Chapel to entice fans to make that the "Kop" many go on about. But safe standing is still not lawful in PL stadiums, the club aren't going to change to rail seating if it may never be permitted. Spurs did it because they were constructing a new stadium with the possibility of it being introduced in the future and so saving a later expense (ballsache). Wolves are going ahead and converting some seating to rail seats but they are presently reconfiguring Molineux.
  14. Tottenham sniffing around Giroud. Hopefully he's cup-tied...
  15. Ditto Looks like we've sold around 5,000 up to now, not bad for little over 24 hours. For those that would be interested, the club have sold out of travel but trying to get more coaches. I'd rather walk.
  16. I'd imagine spurs have instructed us to sell them from the corner a couple of blocks at a time in case we didn't sell them and they could put returns, and the best seats on that tier, on sale to home fans. As it is, looks like we'll sell out quite easily and those buying last will get the best spot right behind the goal on the second level.
  17. Just noticed the 5th Round ties are all midweek and no replays, the 'magic of the cup' is waning.
  18. Boro had 3,700 there in the last round but were all on the same lower level, they just got an extra block nearer the goal. We'll probably just get the normal 3,000 PL section in the corner with the extras all above, won't particularly help the atmosphere. It was never gonna be a £10 for us, they will have little trouble shifting home tickets at £25.
  19. Has he got a brother called Rob? That would explain a few things.
  20. Serious question, have we got a skate running our ticket office?
  21. That was a very good evening back in 2003, we just took them apart. If it's Spurs reckon that's a TV game along with Bournemouth and will have to be on separate days, there's no way they'll let a few thousand rivals of North London's finest travel down on the same trains/motorway together. For the record, 24 years ago today, we had an easy 3-0 home win in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup.
  22. Something like 21 shots at the Emirates on Saturday (only 4 less than Leicester down here who managed to stick 9 of them away without reply!), we'll be lucky to see half as many this time. Different game, we'll press, we'll struggle to get through, they'll knock it long and pick us off. Worse case scenario. Or it finally clicks and we have a field day.....nurse....
