I guess this is the next 100 page thread in waiting? Who's out there? Liverpool fan told me today that rumour up there that Jay Spearing may be heading our way on a season-long lone. Central midfielder, played a few for their first team last season - do we need a central midfielder? Pinch of salt - but he does come from the Wirrall same as ol' Nige

Well, next time, if it goes numb as well, have a w*nk, it'll feel like someone else is doing it. HTH.

Fair cop, Guv. Didn't explain it too well, meant seats in the stand down the side, and the 'terrace' being the old end standing terrace with seats just unsuitably bolted on. I'd imagine we'll have a couple of thousand, particularly if we're still on a roll after Saturday. We've taken 3,000 midweek to Bristol City in recent years early on in this cup.
-
Doesn't matter, we're not getting any more tickets in advance, it's pay-on-the-night. Would think they're only for the seats, they'll only open the terrace if demand is there - as we've taken 3k there on our last couple of visits I would think the terrace will be available.

Is he still banned............?

Did he mention the flag?

.......no Gorkssy in sight.

It was certainly a talking point on here just after the game, would take a bit of going back and searching. I can understand the club wanting the diiiiirty cheating skates out of the stadium as soon as, so they didn't get the chance to start smashing the place up or any hamster-bladder-bellringers p*ssing on the seats.

Corpy ho-ho-ho was quoting our worse attendances that season (to watch the Youth team get relegated - actually very good crowds for Youth football!) our best was well over 25,000 I believe. Whereas the figures you quote for the blue-few were their 'average', I'm sure if you look a bit closer you'll see plenty of fartton games with gates of around 5 or 6000. Probably around the same time they were getting just a couple of thousand for home cup games.
-
Nailed on for the bankrupt skates then.

An old mate of mine nicked a fookin massive Union Jack off some ship in the docks some 30 years back. He stripped off, and it was wrapped around his legs, arms and body, got dressed over it as best he could to get out with his prize. Mission accomplished. It turned up at about 2 away games with 'SOUTHAMPTON FC' emblazoned across it and then was never seen again as the thing was a massive ball's-ache carting around. - probably abandoned in some northern boozer!
-
And LOLing back at ya – you say: “Face it, if the situation were reversed your crowds would be no different to ours and the stats I posted prove it.” The situations were reversed, back then we were going down and protesting at the board whereas you’re now under new ownership and, if you believe yer average skate, with troubles behind you, so hardly comparable. Anyway, take out 3,000 visiting fans, how many do you think you’d have got if it had been Doncaster and Preston instead of Brighton and Reading?
-
Yeah, but luckily for you your first 2 games were 'local derbies', just think what you would have got against if it had been the Blackpools, Prestons, Doncasters or Covs of this world?
-
And with the nice little run we're on right now probably don't help their cause either tbf.

However many are there on Saturday, unfortunately too many will just sit there open-mouthed watching the noisy leeds support. 3k of them are going to have quite an impact on the atmosphere - especially after an entire day on the lash - and will give their side a big lift. Make a racket Saints fans for all of us watching miles away!
-
Well, I'll be 1,000 miles away watching in some hot bar, one with not too many leeds in it hopefully. The 2 guys I go with are also both away - all gutted to miss this one. It's only Monday, best part of a week to the match, sales will pick up as the week goes on. My prediction, 25k inside the ground at kick-off, another 5k season ticket holders queueing at the box office complaining of missing tickets. Why the f*ck the club haven't aknowledged this yet is crazy.
-
It’s happened on the past 2 visits. We got in 25-30mins into the game last time, “broken down trains”, “delays finding replacements”, “bullsh*t, bullsh*t, bullsh*t” and then a slow stop-start march down near-deserted skatey streets . In hindsight if they could have delayed us about another hour-and-half that would have dramatically improved my day. The ‘away’ end was split 50-50ish for those matches. Hope you're right but I can't see them giving us any advantage they don't have to. They will reason that extra segregation is required and take it out of our allocation, they'll have extra netting either side of us. As you say we could make a lot of noise with the entire end. There's plenty of clubs who've had a reduced allocation for security issues in the past.
-
They've managed to split that end before - wont be a problem anyway if the OB perform their usual trick and keep our trains back until they're all inside the ground and then keep us all in for an hour after. Oh, of course, Hampshire Constabulary don't do that anymore as it infringes peoples civil liberties. Let's hope there's no rattley fences down Goldsmith Avenue.
-
When I was down in their neck of the woods recently a fat skate informed me they're only giving us 1600 tickets. If true, hope we repay the gesture and offer them no more than 2k. Cheating ****s.
-
Gazza: My Story is an interesting read. Bit old now, I read it in Ibiza the year we got relegated, at least it made me feel a bit better that some other **** was feeling worse than me! Good place for cheaper books is downstairs in HMV (Southampton precinct).
-
Corp Ho says a lot of sh*t.
-
We'll just give him to City anyway. Least we could do.
-
Well, their fans are saying they've offered £4.5m plus Martyn Waghorn for Maynard.
-
So, it will be "just like watching Brazil" then!
