Crazy. How many conflicting bits of information can come out of one place? I was stood right next to someone when they called the '0800' number from here at work at 4.45 yesterday and someone on the other end named Ben said between 300 and 350 left. Now I know you aint got to be a rocket scientist to work in the Ticket Office but the difference between "300" and "1000" isn't exactly close. Do they just pluck a figure out of the air?
-
My mate 's just got off the phone from the TO and they said between 300-350 tickets left, They'll be gone soon.
-
Nah, not really, your gimps in fancy dress just took advantage to cry in front of the Sky cameras about how hard-done-by-plucky-little-p*mpey have been mistreated by the world. Despite a good result there you could only muster a few hundred for your next away trip. But then again there was no TV cameras for the "bestest" was there.

Nice one. We're coming 'up' in cars, can you say about what time the car park usually gets to breaking point - what was it like for West Ham?

Well he still goes to all home games and many away, he'll be at Blackpool this weekend, how many having a pop on here will be travelling? I don't know Nick other than he's been a constant face for the 40+ years I've been going, home and away. I don't agree with a lot he says and it does seem there's bad blood between him and Cortese but I don't think he deserves the stick he gets from 'faceless' keyboard warriors, he easily found in the ground or boozers it you feel that strongly. As far as our finances are concerned, I can't see how it compares to the cheating skates. We haven't pay extortionate transfer fees and wages, I'd suggest the biggest outlay has been Staplewood but surely that's an investment that will save us £millions in years to come, avoiding vastly over-priced transfer/agent fees by bringing through quality young players and, if the need be, selling one or two. As it stands, we've sold £40m of young talent in recent years, with the facilities now being put in place that can only improve. That's not chucking money you don't have down the drain and hoping the taxpayer will bail you out like the skates, that's got to be good business.

"the club has already proven it can hold its own in the Premier League" The same club that finds itself languishing around the basement of the Championship? The same club that had to spend mountains of cash they never had to get there in the first place? The one that only survived a few short years? "hold its own" you're 'aving a laugh

Still think the most hostile was the first time we played them at SMS. Barely heard a peep out of them (other than, as Jackanory says, during the minute's silence) and they got a cacophony of whistles every time they tried. Skatey Redknapp said that night was like going into Beirut.

Can't be said enough, no way should "Pay Up" be heard. It is clever, don't know who came up with it first but Reading were singing it to the skates a few weeks back. Only bugger is, it may have a similar effect to "PayUp" and if you join in with them singing "til I die" it will just make it sound like they're actually making some noise. Sha-la-la will be the order of the day.

Of course when I say "full" again, I mean "nearly" full
-
Even if they push all the Donny fans up into the corner and gave us all the seats around them - which of course they wont do - it still wouldn't be a total sell-out as all the corporate is included in capacity and there's no way that'll be full tomorrow. Nice to see the place full again though.
-
Bigger 'home' support. Won't be a bigger attendance due to low away support.
-
And to be absolutely fair, to be fair - the game after Lowe went we got 27,000+, the day after they were recently cleansed, and their club really needed them there, they got around 12,000.

Up to 5817 tickets for Palace away - SOLD OUT
100%Red&White replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
If these tickets are selling as fast as being said then I can possibly see Palace releasing more. At the mo they've moved out their eason ticket holders to give us the entire stand but have left 2 blocks of seats at either end of the Saints fans. I can see them wanting segregation at the (I think) Holmesdale End where their 'Ultras' gather in the corner but I can't see how they'd need it the other end. Hopefully, if need be, they'll give us another section of seats at both ends which would still leave a sterile area, probably an extra 1,000 tickets. Guess the Met may have the final say. -
But it wasn't like-for-like that year, it was tipped massively in your favour. In a twist on recent times it was you who had the far bigger ground. No 'level playing field' there. For us 1987 was just another season in the First Division, hardly exciting, for you it was the first season back in the big time. You lot had been telling us for years.....and years.....and years.....that once you got back up there there would be no holding the sleeping gnat (sorry giant). All those big away supports, all the big clubs, a local derby! What went wrong?

Where exactly is the issue with a slight delay on the train? If you were planning to leave Southampton at 10:00 just get the 9:00 - you'll actually gain beer time!

Pompey Ticket Details - game NOT televised
100%Red&White replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I think they've certainly paid the price for not encouraging ST holders this year, the economic climate has kicked in at just about every club in the country, too easy for fans to pick and choose games. Interesting to see that Reading have just announced 2012/13 ST prices even though they could be playing Premier League football next year. Renewals are £350 for adults, £220 for 17-21 and over 65s, £99 under 16s. £395 for new adult applicants. -
Probably Brighton and Leeds, all of us took 3,000 there to boost the gates too. fartton only holds just over 21k but they haven't come close to filling it once.
-
This was also the first game after Lowe was booted out (for the second time after alienating fans by sneaking back in). It should also be pointed out that this was all to watch a weakened side (we actually shipped out the better ones to cut costs) fight relegation whereas the skates have only suddenly been dumped down there. Our biggest gate that season was just under 32,000 btw. p*rtsmyth - the biggest myth in football.

Every time they've come to SMS/the Dell there was going to be "hundreds in the home stands", never happened yet, never likely to. Always looked like delicate little sheep to me. Dreamers, they wont be able to fart and get away with it in the bubble - their only chance is if some sneak into Southampton without tickets and head for the pubs. DFCSBs/WTFILN.
-
You mock but it could have been so different. It was only earlier this season they were joint top. If I remember correctly it was the first week in August.
-
Twins? Under 50 (over 49) Southampton. First game 1972 v Chelsea at the Dell, Tuesday night under lights, 2-2 (Ron Davis 2, Tommy Baldwin 2), over 24,000, went with older cousin and mates from Shirley Warren. Hooked. First away, Oxford mid 70s, half the Saints fans in stand behind the goal (shared with home fans), half down side. Spent most of game watching Saints fans trying to get past OB and over the fence to like-minded home fans. Hooked going away too.

Good point...although they probably nicked the petrol.

On the 'Alan Brazil Show' on Talksh*te this morning they were talking about the plight of Rangers and it was said the upcoming Old Firm match may not go ahead on Police advice. They are expecting a bit of a reaction from the 'Gers supporters and, as you can imagine, the hoops mob are winding them into a frenzy. They're apparently talking about turning up in suits, bowler hats and brollies mimicking the Taxman. They are fearing serious trouble. I wonder if Hants OB are considering this possibilty as April 7 gets nearer?
-
Wow-wie, you're being very generous there by about 3000+ I'd say. Still, just over 1000 of the "world's bestest" made the long, arduos trek up all the way up the motorway in their hour-of-need to far-flung Reading last night. That must have been a full 2 gallons of petrol in the car.
-
I take it they'll all be helping out in the ticket office again this week to cope with the demand of yet another 'Pack the Park' (or as someone suggested on the UI more appropriately 'Evacuate the Park'!). Don't tell me it was just a cheap publicity stunt from the "world's most passionate" DFCSBs? WTFILN.
