And, their keeper was a bit late for the ball. Failing that there's always another old favourite.

Make it MK Dons and we can have 5,000+ I'll stick me neck out and say it will be Reading home or away. For obvious reasons.

Third round draw takes place this weekend, hopefully we'll now take it a bit more seriously. Could be the game that we'll see the return of Boruc and Wanyama.

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-3 Aston Villa
100%Red&White replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
That was the best ball we got into the box last night. I'm a bit surprised I haven't seen anyone mention the congestion last night. The roads were almost gridlocked coming in from all sides, we got in 5 mins after kick-off and it was obvious from empty seats all over there was a real problem. There were thousands still outside queueing when we got in and loads more making their way to the stadium, they were still piling in after Villa's first. I've heard it was the referee's decision not to delay kick-off, another 15 mins, like at the Emirates, would have helped. -
Ahem "mighty"? Just seen a thread on the main board titled "Diego", I thought Corp-ho-ho-ho had returned to announce their next manager thanks to information from someone ITK who he sees socially every two weeks.

Deluded skate reporter (probaly factless Allen): "So, Mr Ronaldhino, would you say (mumble, mumble, mumble) that was the greatest atmosphere (mumble, mumble, mumble) in world (mumble, mumble) football? Ronaldhino: "Eh?" Translator: "The stupido f*kwito saida soma crapo or other abouta da weirdo lookin fans outta there, justa smile and a nod...." Deluded skate reporter (probaly factless Allen): "He nodded, he said yes, the GREATEST ATMOSPHERE IN WORLD FOOTBALL!!!!!, eat that scummmmmaaaaahhhhhhsssss!!!!!!!"

I think what's being questioned is that Saints appear to be the only club not using it for the benefit of their own supporters, who, along with the Geordies/Mackems have the most arduous trips on the road. Well, when you put it like that

With regards the ' Away Supporters Fund' is any other club using it to benefit visiting fans and not their own travelling supporters? To me it just further proves they don't want Saints fans putting money into another club's pocket thinking it will instead be spent at St Mary's. At the same time encouraging away fans to visit SMS which does boast SFC's finances. The numbers of travelling support raises a club's profile and kudos. This is one area of this new era I can't understand and have a gripe with.

Actually, FP's capacity was nearer 60k which, despite their "golden era" was never troubled, they only ever got just over 50k twice. And that included thousands of locally based military personel that were allowed in for free and in a time that Southampton fans thought nothing of going down there to see the big teams coming to town when Saints were away. Worked great throughout the 60s/70s/80s/90s - just like now, far bigger fish to fry these days.
-
I don't think they're worthy of capitals just yet tbh.

Impressive, looks like you were there over 3 hours before kick-off and on it by breakfast! -
Today's Telegraph Article about Saints...

I would imagine 'aap' have been quite happy with the little shirt sponsorship faux pas last summer, they've enjoyed fantastic media coverage this season for what must be the cheapest ever outlay with a Premier 'top 3' club! -
Time to dust off this again?
-
Is that what it will look like when the Jocks get their independence?
-
That's me sorted, I'm flying to Glasgow and getting the train!
-
Should this game come about I can't see too many first team regulars being chanced - you can imagine the kind of challenges going in when a feisty local derby and young hot heads are involved.
-
Bubble game?

If you jump and down then there will always be someone nearby who'll take umbrage and if you don't get lumped you're just as likely get thrown out by the stewards. Just because the Emirates doesn't come across as an intimidating bear pit it also doesn't mean they haven't got a nawty mob.
-
You probably get what you pay for, most plumbers would say they'd "recommend so-and-so" if they've been trained up to fit and make good money on that particular make. I had a Worcester-Bosch Combi in my old house, they were "very good" at the time, then when I had to replace the boiler in the house we moved into they weren't "as good as they were" but I've heard they're OK again now! We replaced the knackered one with a Veissmann, it was that or a Vaillant.

Good work, couldn't get this one though - clue: sounds damn posh. -
He's got a point though, where else are you going to find culture like you do at this "big stadium"? On page 23 in today's Daily Star it says at their game this weekend "Fans will be treated to extracts from his (Dickens) books read over the PA system at half-time". Sarah Chiverton adds, "We want the fans to join in with a version of the chimes, which go: "Play on Dickens, Dickens play on" Chardonnay, Mercedes and Kyle are going to just love it.
