Southampton 0-1 Newcastle League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg

Still only on sale to ST Holders with 'Prime Members' getting access to tickets this afternoon - other members and then General Sale next week which will see a few more go. As long as Newcastle aren't demanding unsold tickets from the 3,700 be returned before Wednesday, then it should see another uptake if still in it after Tuesday night. Shame they didn't warm up the wrong balls to give us and Forest the away legs first....... -
I had a load of 60s/70s Saints' programmes when I was a kid, unfortunately I lived out my fantasy of being a professional footballer when I was older by regularly faking ‘autographs’ over the photos of the featured players each home game. That fooked them up! Having taken all my Saints stuff with me when I left home 40-odd years ago and stuck it up in the loft it rarely saw the light of day again until I later moved house. Unfortunately, that wasn’t long after relegation in 2005 and I was still mightily pissed at the shitshow down the road and a bit fed up with it all and promptly dumped most of it to save taking it with us to clutter up our new gaff. What a twat.

Southampton 0-1 Newcastle League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg

As you click on each block it tells you how many seats available in that area, it's quite easy to tot up as you go round. There's around 3,500 left (Chapel end of stadium only) so should sell out in next couple of days. Away leg still restricted sales but selling well. Villa not far off a sell-out too. -
Luckily, we're just getting our new-manager-bounce....just a few weeks late!

Southampton 0-1 Newcastle League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg

Shame it's home first leg as I would imagine the club would've had to make a decision on size of allocation before the St Mary's match. Some fans will understandably want to wait and see how we do at home before committing to a midweek 650-mile round trip, little fun if on the back of a bad result first up. Hopefully the Geordies price it sensibly (particularly as our lot will be sat up in the clouds to watch it) -
Saints 2-0 Man City - The Treble is STILL on!

And Arsenal 0-5 FA Cup live on Sky 5 or 6 years ago, not forgetting 2-6 to Spurs on TV back at the Dell. Unfortunately been there for them all and too many other heavy losses all the way back to the start of the 70s. Yep, keep it respectful Saints. -
Dump the aways in Kingsland North or South and mostly out of sight of the TV cameras as they bounce around after yet another late goal to finish us off.

From the comments: "great bit of fun but these simulations are never remotely close to the real thing! For a start, Southampton are so bad, its quite likely City will score in first ten minutes as Pep will want the game won by half time!" It's gonna be ugly isn't it -
Only saw it in real time but was Perraud's 'handball' a legitimate pen shout? Looked fairly clear in the ground and surprised missed. Writing this off as teething troubles, hopefully players and fans alike pick up soon, home games are a tough watch these days.

I'm intending on parking in the West Quay Retail Park (Britannia Parking) - charges to 8pm and then free but you can also get 60min free parking from 7pm. Would just need to buy a ticket up to 8 if parking up before 7.
-
I've read elsewhere it's on 'down-under' - beIN in Aus, Sky in NZ, so should be a stream. They're 2 places below those plucky-little-portsea-island-promotion-fucker-uppers in the third division - on another day, c'mon Lincoln.

Plus £1.50 booking fee..................................................

Looks like Newcastle have now change their tie with Bournemouth from Wed to Tues, not been updated yet on the BBC fixtures. So those travelling around the country on the Tuesday now will be OK for an ambulance turning up in the unfortunate event of a traffic accident - but no nurses at the hospital once they get there!
-
Looks like the lowest average attendance since we moved to St Mary's was 17,849 the year we were relegated to League One coinciding with all the unrest with Lowe et al. That's the only season we averaged under 20k. Other than that, our attendances in the lower leagues were very good. http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/league/soto.htm

I ordered Friday afternoon and they turned up this morning. Lincoln have sold 1,300 of their 1,600 allocation so far, they had a discounted deal on for a travel/ticket combo which has ended so sales may slow a bit now. Home tickets aren't exactly flying off the shelf, bit surprised as first game back and Jones' introduction. Probably be a last minute rush, particularly if England continue to do well.

We'll just have to agree to disagree, I've no problem with that. *It's still a pile of ol' shit though

In response to the original OP I would say - Yes. Absolutely. Just shows differing opinions on this. I've never liked it, a gimmicky mess to me. I don't know what the tree is about, I can only assume the city parks, others have suggested the New Forest but why that would be represented on this football club's crest I wouldn't know. Southampton isn't in the New Forest and there's a large body of water between to two places. Would have been better to have had a ship, the Bargate or some grungy old docker* on it to depict the city it comes from : ) *tongue-in-cheek

Free hit this one, put in a committed performance and leaves something to build on. But... got a sneaky feeling for a point - get into their internationals early and hopefully their thoughts start wandering to the World Cup. A Stevie Moran moment would do nicely, for those of us that were there that day, it was a 'Longy' kinda moment.

Will there be any anti-Jones protests at the game tonight?

Didn't a certain local taxi driver try and encourage everyone to wave white handkerchiefs in a Spanish-stylee protest? That went well.............. -
Who would have thought a couple of days ago that anyone in Southampton would be watching Stoke v Luton on a wet dreary Tuesday night?
-
And winning the FA Cup in between, I'll take that!

I bet a lot of us are too and can see the benefits of a better day out away from the PL, it's just a painful journey getting there.
