I think these deadlines may be flexible. They were certainly still offering renewal price STs for some time after the first 'deadline'. It wouldn't surprise me if you're now having second thoughts at not renewing and phoned up (with your tail between your legs) you might still get it at the earlier price. Although your original seat may not be available. But it would be nice to see deadlines removed completely and actually help make it easier for fans to pay out for (ever increasing) expensive season tickets - interest free repayments like we used to, and other clubs do would help.

I wonder if it may have been a bit cheaper if they didn't have to scrap 'the other one'. There must have been a financial hit if it was already in production. I'd guess those socks and shorts may have been originally to go with (as suggested) the ditched Cortese design we were treated to last night. We're caned for being 'near' London, it impacts on the cost of every-day things and housing but I bet general wages in Southampton are on a par with cities up north. I can just about manage the rise in cost of my season ticket but I can appreciate if you are a family having to renew 2 or 3 then it may have gone over the tipping point. If that's the case then you can understand how there could be a dramatic drop in renewals. Although tickets at a lot of Premier League clubs are already significantly cheaper than SFC, I've read that some have chosen to freeze or even reduce prices this summer.
