  1. Just heard they'll be over 50,000 at this match, sold out for home fans already - 3 weeks before a 'friendly', impressive. Koeman and Pelle won't want to come back. And 10,000 turned up for a training session http://www.feyenoord.com/news/news-overview/fans-welcome-new-faces-at-first-training-session
  2. http://www.london24.com/sport/football/clubs/crystal-palace/crystal_palace_set_to_profit_as_liverpool_finally_close_in_on_12_5million_southampton_man_1_4126224 Sell-on fees and International bonus' mean we'll only see part of any sum.
  3. Too late now but the ideal place for the training ground/Academy would have been off of the M3 somewhere between Southampton and Winchester. It may have help attract better foreign players who seem to want to spend their riches and time in London, they could have lived 20-30 miles south of the capital and still be at the training ground within half hour in their Bentleys. Anyway, keep the stadium in the City Centre - 'Just In St Marys' - the J.I.S.M. campaign starts here
  4. Stand back, they're going over!
  5. Any excuse to roll-out an old friend

    Cookers

After always having gas, I fitted an electric oven and induction hob when I replaced our kitchen a couple of years back and it was a good move. The induction hob is great, safe (particularly if young children around), quick and look good. The only thing to consider with induction is, I believe, they've been reported to cause issues with people who have pacemakers, something to do with the strong magnetic fields if you're close by.
  7. Only if you're a Boca fan.
  8. I think that's current, not new - but as football shirts goes it's the mutt's minerals, aint it?!
  9. I probably should have suffered more as I had mine done in the morning and that evening went to St Mary's to watch Saints v Steaua Bucharest, climbing 3/4s of the way up Block 38 to my seat. Other than a bit of aching'n'itching, little else after effects. That needle going in before the op tho.......................................
  10. If we make Europe then we should. Make it obvious so nobody feels let down going along to matches, play the young lads and make it free entry to season ticket holders/fiver for others to get the kids used to playing competitive games in front of big crowds. It's never done Arsenal any harm.
  11. I'm just wracking my brains for stand out performances against Spurs, only 2 immediately spring to mind, both in the FA Cup, the 3-0 win up at WHL a few decades ago (7,000+ travelling Saints fans - same day as the battle of Covent Garden!) and the 2003 mullering at St Mary's. Unfortunately, heavy defeats home and away also spring to mind. Ronnie f*cking Rosenthal, that is all.
  12. Yep, I had BBC Breakfast on early this morning expecting to at least hear it mentioned, particularly, as you say, they covered the Man City-Chelsea Youth first leg tie. I know Sky had our game but ITV4 had the mancs. Just before the BBC South local news had a report about the skates extending their shirt sponsorship but nothing on the U21's cup final success. Is Cortese back?
  13. You can't argue with that, but it's a good reminder to the few that knock him to know of his character and commitment to this football club. Top man imo.
  14. This may now be a good idea. Fingers crossed the fans are a bit more up for it this weekend, been poor recently and full support needed for the run-in. Someone sent me this pic today of Marseille v PSG from Sunday That stadium was a mad, noisy place when it had open sides, must be a bearpit these days.
  15. That's handy, home game for our owners
  16. Current Ajax Adidas kit in a Rank Xerox-ish reverse.
  17. Whatever you think of the type and size of the Palace support, they still came last week and made noise for the best part of 90 minutes. I sat not far from the dugouts on Tuesday and I can assure you it was far better than the home support, I know the Itchen corner got going in the second half but it doesn't have that much effect further along the stand. It must be the same every week for the teams sat on the bench, you get the full force of the away support, Pardew was constantly acknowledging the Palace fans, Koeman would have been far more aware of their support than ours. Still, takes all kinds, if some prefer the kind of support from most of our fans (sitting on hands/bit shy to make some noise) then I guess that's just the way of the modern English supporter.
  18. Can you ask him if he could ban his young apprentice Keith from wearing the shorts? Those knees are shockers.
  19. Surely the 'die-hards' are still there anyway to make a noise, why would the 'JCLs' stop them piping up? We could pull in up to 30k in League One, regularly mid-20s, but the atmosphere was far better back then. We've run out of songs since we came back up. And I must be missing something with some saying the atmosphere was better Tuesday. I sat in Itchen Block 6, closest I've sat to the halfway line, it was mostly dire from Saints fans. 1800 Palace were loud, and plenty of variety, it didn't sound like the Northam got anywhere near their levels. They were really raising their voices to sing, other than once or twice the only real response from the Northam was a half-hearted OWTSzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I've read the Itchen North was good second half but you really couldn't hear them all that well further down the stand, guess that's down to the acoustics. As for the Chapel end of the stadium
  20. They never had the full allocation at West Ham at the weekend.
  21. Jumping the gun Trousers, nothing will happen until Paul Allen can find somewhere to park his boat in Switzerland tomorrow.
  22. The Royal Oak was rammed with Saints fans on that snowy night back in.........................wow, was that really ten years ago?!
  23. Who's saying it's all the ref's fault? Most recognise our problem is hitting the net, but the ref had a shocker. Aint it about time you f*cked off back to the Emirates again?
