What, like how we played Lincoln off the park?
-
It started out as 'Scumpey' a little twist on their nickname

Fact no.1: Never have more cousins been seen in the same place at the same time as on portsea island. Fact no.2: The toothbrush was invented in the PO postcode, had it been invented anywhere else it would have been called a teethbrush. Fact no.3: portsMYTH is a far more appropriate moniker for the third division upstarts.

I'd only been going for a couple of seasons before they unveiled that kit. Seemed so snazzy when I first saw it with the white socks, a couple of red stripes down the side of the shorts, and for the first time (other than the late 1800s) a badge on the shirt.

I've just come off there and looked like the corners at the Chapel end were still closed off. Decent performance this weekend and can see it getting to around low twenties.

I think that may be from when they were in the Championship, looks like they now give the required 3,000 in the PL. Just Googled to see what it throws up and saw Bournemouth took the first allocation which was just over 2,000 when they went there in November, I can't believe we'd accept less if that's what is available initially and entitled to. Grimsby could be, well, grim then. Not expecting too much tomorrow, hopefully signs of a bit of commitment but have to be realistic - by the end of the next PL home game should give a clearer picture.

Paul Doswell......?

They're the Millwall of the north, their notorious Fishwhackers will leave bodies strewn all over once they start thwacking with those inflatables. Scenes.

I've kind of accepted we're probably on the way down and likely so will any incoming man, so the pool to pick from ain't particularly huge. I think it could very well be Marsch, I don't think the club will bow to fan pressure with this appointment, it will certainly be someone who'll accept relegation and the rebuild job. Plenty of our fans are gonna grizzle (mostly on football forums) whoever is brought in but although the board were probably a bit taken aback with the feeling towards Jones, it was hardly ever more than, let's be honest, slightly "toxic" at St Mary's. For comparison, the dug-out pioneers had thousands kicking-off on the streets outside the stadium before and after games as well as proper protests inside, other than a few boos and chants, we had someone's 10 year old nipper waving a fake P45 around.

Look at us not fearing relegation, all accepting of it already, positively embracing it! It will be nice to revisit a few grounds, done most of them since the 70s - but as long as I don't get one of those shitty restricted view seats at Loftus Road and do they still keep you back for an hour at Millwall?
-
Of course. Big clubs only.

It would be a good thing for a lot of us, and with talk of a European Super League back in the news today, this could happen this time. European Super League: Fresh plans for 80-team competition announced by chief executive Bernd Reichart | Football News | Sky Sports Slightly different format proposed this time (shame) that could see the top clubs coming and going but with the big TV money gradually leaking out of the PL to the ESL it could be a game-changer for the lesser clubs in England currently being back-rolled by the mega-rich. I can only see Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool being taken seriously globally in a league with the likes of Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, etc. - I could see the owners of Newcastle, even City, having second thoughts and pulling the plug to divert funds to bigger clubs. If it happens this way I still think it will eventually lead to a breakaway super league further down the line.

They've got quite a 'reputation' in the lower leagues, will be 'lively' when they roll up down here soon.

Southampton(1) 1-2 (3)Newcastle - League Cup Semi Final - Second Leg

I take it with a pinch of salt when oppo 'fans' come on here and act like fuckwits, could very well be their rival fans masquerading as Geordies to give the impression - the skates do it with us. Not that we haven't got more than our own fair share of fruitloops. -
Hopefully we're now dropping bombs everywhere that we're looking at other targets to force some arms - everyone knows we're desperate, we need to give the impression at least that we've got other options.

There won't be a Police horse safe in that town if they lose. -
To be fair, it would make sense if they ever outgrow Staplewood and need to move to look at any available land just off the M3 for any new site (Winchester way). When even average/good PL players are earning around a quarter to half a £million a month, young fellas with money like that burning a hole in their pockets want the high-life. London is really the only place that can offer that opportunity in the south and you can find a community, restaurants, etc. of most nationalities in the capital which would appeal to the better overseas players and managers (and their families). They could live around the top of the M3 in plush Greater London and be 50 miles of straight motorway to training and 15 miles to the West End.

Now if this doesn't go to plan and the unexpected happens there's gonna be a lot of moody Geordies around.....and a lot of cheap hotel rooms in the Wembley area up for grabs come Wednesday morning -
Wahey.....she's wearing our away kit!
-
Our the even better scenario of the obscenely-mega-rich monsters fooking off to their desired global super league. Soon.

No doubt they'll address the imbalance for the game up there and have 2 Saints-connected pundits and just 1 Geordie in the studio - probably Shearer and McMenemy tho!
