  1. The thing is that bottom tier was virtually sold out after the first day of ticket sales with very few at that point sold in the upper tier. That means that most season ticket holders (with the required additional qualifying matches) be it from the Northam, Itchen, Kingsland and (uh-oh!) Chapel bought in that area, so any idea that it will be mostly lively 'lads' wanting to stand throughout goes out the window. Likewise, a lot of our more boisterous supporters may not be season ticket holders, if that's the case then they will be in the upper tier. Let's be honest, it's going to be little more than a constant "OWTS" anyway, it's the only song a lot of our fans actually know. Apart from "COYR" which they'll sing anyway despite us being in white and the mancs in red!
  2. They'll also be extra train passengers arriving at Southampton that would normally travel to London from Salisbury as there's no trains for them in the morning. Fans travelling from Bournemouth area will also get bussed to Southampton Parkway due to railworks to add to the grief for some and that's before you consider all those Man United 'fans' travelling up from various southern regions on the trains. Balls-ache all round really.
  3. I've just booked multiple tickets together - first clicked on and selected all required seats, they were listed (top left of page) and then I just 'added to basket' they then showed all tickets against my name but just clicked the drop-down box against each ticket and changed to the names listed (previously registered as friends and family). Long initial wait to get on (but not quite as long as stated) and that was from constantly refreshing from just before 9am.
  4. Wow, I take it back. I must have been on me summer hols or the memory failing badly. Shouldn't be surprised, nothing changes really.
  5. I can't remember anyone being particularly underwhelmed tbh, the form Luke Shaw was in it was always going to be a hard act to follow but Bertrand has proved an excellent (and probably soon, profitable) signing. We signed him as a left back, any more injuries at CB and that may be where he ends he Saints playing days. Looking forward to seeing Boufal and Gabbiadini together, probably off the bench at the weekend.
  6. Nope, they definitely said "it was all cleared up" now that Jose Fonte has been (gently coaxed, ahem) totally upfront that he never put in a "written" transfer request so the club must have pushed him out the door. For one reason or another. West Ham fans are happy, they just got themselves a great signing (not anyone remotely like Payet who played up to get out of his contract), Saints fans are happy and he'll get a warm welcome back (he should anyway but no hero worshipping) on Saturday. No agendas at Talksh*te, no sir, never.
  7. No doubt the fans will, this was more about the bullsh*te that's just been broadcast on the radio.
  8. JF has just done an "exclusive" interview with Jim White on Talksh*te. That didn't sound staged at all. I like Fonte, I don't wish him any success at West Ham, but he did great for us. Despite him claiming how professional he's been to the end, I've heard pretty reliably that he's certainly not been captain material recently behind the scenes. There's 2 sides to every story but Jim White, who aint so keen on us these days since Cortese left (who used to lavish VIP trips with the club on the fella), just about put the right words into Fonte's mouth to make him sound whiter than white, I suspect West Ham are lavishing gifts on him these days.
  9. Probably not but I'm bracing myself for a bit of bad news in the next couple of days.
  10. Straying a bit off topic but this was another one of 'those' moments, seems a bit insignificant now compared to last night but everyone went nuts when this went in
  11. Not to mention 'media pressure' for what was probably a global demand for a Manc/scouse final. He had 2 opportunities to award 'penalties' in front of the Kop and didn't wobble, that don't happen too often! We could be 90 minutes from our first major trophy in over 40 years and if so Europe again. If everything goes to plan it would be sweet to see our Europa spot won at the expense of the other scousers and inflict a double dose of Mersey misery.
  12. Maybe we should campaign for a special yellow Cup Final shirt too for old times sake. It would also stop our fans singing "Come On You Reds" when we're in black and the oppo in red and makes a noisy chant as well (and would give us an alternative to OWTS on repeat).
  13. My favourite-ever trip up there [video=youtube;j5-ZPTbRAGg] and my second-favourite-ever Steve Moran goal Privileged to have been there to see both.
  14. I know a lot of us still wouldn't have used it but the club could have (if the visitors concourse at SMS didn't need a spruce up this year, of course) used the 'away' fund and laid on free coaches for this? Maybe they just thought they didn't need to with it being a semi-final but the dull football and some shocking away performances have rapidly dampened enthusiasm and really don't leave fans with much hope for up there. Yep, it is a semi but I can understand some thinking twice before making a 500-mile round-trip, the M6 car park, 2 days off work and our form just doesn't inspire. Like it or not, watching it live at home or down the pub will be more appealing to many.
  15. Block 124 is sold out and no longer showing and both 125 and 126 only have a couple of seats left in each so will be gone shortly. Block 127 is about half sold so they'll probably release 122 and 123 soon as the other blocks for Saints fans are tucked up either end in the corners. The only problem being, I can see Liverpool may have said we can send back 121-123 if Saints decide not to put them up for sale (home fans in the usual away fans bit). Hopefully tickets will now continue selling fast and we can use up the full allocation.
  16. Abusing ex-players will look pretty lame if the worst happens, tonight fans have got to show the passion they're constantly accusing the players of lacking. It's rarely evident these days. Talking of old heroes, I see Glasgae Rangers have done the ol' "gay wave" before [video=youtube;VUjnIwF-ZhE]
  17. There's some truth in it but the content is really just meant as a wind-up and to have a pop at Saints fans - he won't have to pay for a pint in the Shepherd's Crook this afternoon.

    Dougal

First Mush was mostly a Millwall fan, deaf Tony, it was the Millwall crest on his butchers coat, still around I think, last saw him a few years back in the 'Black Cat'. The big guy with the birthmark (and usually cap-sleeve T-Shirt) came from New Milton. Always around back then, only seen him a few times over the years since. I'm sure some of the old 'lads' wouldn't exactly appreciate their full names being plastered all over these days, many are probably (Great) Grandads by now!
  19. Due to circumstances, I've just put 2 seats on the SFC Ticket Exchange, sat together end aisle Block 35 if anyone looking. Wasn't showing online yet a few mins ago so best phone ticket office if keen.
  20. Looks like SportsDirect popped round to recover stock against unpaid bills and no-one was in.
  21. Went to buy my and a mates seats as Season Ticket holders yesterday and was very surprised to see they had already gone on sale to members. Can't believe we had such a short window with the game still a month away, fortunately both our seats were still available. I don't know if they had a glitch in the system for anyone else but a right balls-ache trying to buy online yesterday, finally got mine to go through but mate had to phone up and do over the phone. And got charged for doing so!
  22. OR if your team (it should mean more to us than some mercenary footballer) needs lifting the 'die-hard' fans roar them on and do their bit. Big game last night, the fans shouldn't needed lifting at the start of a match like that, if the atmosphere had been electric from kick-off you'd have a point but it was as subdued as ever. The only thing special about our support last night was the odd colourful 'character' in the crowd.

    **** off

I'm with Griffo on this. Let's be honest, we’ve probably got the team our fans deserve - our style of play just reflects our ‘support’ - dull, boring, predictable and really not very good. I'll add f*** off to timid support.
  24. And to think most of us have mocked TCWTB for all these years and then along comes TBCWTRAWSF. What grinds the most is we should have been home and dry weeks ago but recent form has been shocking. Away to Prague and then to go out so meekly last night, players and 'support', feels like a stiff kick in the minerals.
  25. Is andy on a wind up? 5 takers for his ticket and he's still got it. 4 posts and an old Bournemouth area code for a name, just saying.
