He then wipes himself off on the curtains and leaves, never to be seen again... The Don...

SAINTS 0-3 West Bromwich Albion // Post-Match Reaction
Gambol2K9 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Ironic considering you're usually the one bleating about people making personal attacks against you. -
It doesn't help that you're stood under a tin roof. I've never been able to get a signal.
-
So you'd kick off at a Pompey fan because of it, you have a strong opinion, yet you have clearly not done any research around the rules to come to a conclusion? I personally think it's consistent, altho circumstances meant it was harsher on us. I may well be wrong and i'd be happy for someone to correct me if they've researched it more than i have and therefore have a more educated opinion. It just annoys me when people have such strong, tribal opinions without bothering to present any evidence to back it up.

Great finish and would be a good fit for our squad, no chance of paying him 70k a week though.

For me it's one more CB, a RB, an out and out winger with pace and another striker. Evolution not revolution.

The new Forte?

Saints charged by FA for failing to control players vs Norwich

We deserve to be fined, we should be more disciplined than that. -
So are we now officially OVER Nigel Adkins

The real test of MP will come when we go on a run of bad form. -
Beat the champions 3-1 and people still find something to moan about. Just enjoy it, every one of our players had a brilliant game yesterday

Unfortunately this is the bipolar, knee-jerk mentality of most on here. It's either an ecstasy of joy when we win or slit wrists when we don't. I wonder how some of you lot function day to day.

I wonder how much taxpayers money has been wasted pursuing this case? Not only that, with a stint in prison on their CV, good luck to the lads on finding a job in this climate. I despair of this country sometimes.

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/2013/02/01/chelsea-fc-fans-jailed-for-taking-smoke-bombs-to-swansea-city-match-91466-32729027/ Two Chelsea soccer fans have been jailed for taking smoke "grenades" into the Liberty Stadium during a game against Swansea City. The pair were caught each carrying "Enola Gaye" smoke bombs - used in war games and paintballing - into the Capital One Cup semi-final. The fans planned to let off the blue smoke bombs when Chelsea scored. But Chelsea failed to score - and were knocked out in the second leg at the Liberty Stadium clash. Jamie Greenwood, 26, and his cousin, Harry Greenwood, 19, both of London, were jailed for 28 days. They admitted having the article during a designated sporting event, an offence under the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc) Act 1985. The pair, described as "avid" Chelsea fans Greenwoods were both also given football banning orders stopping them from attending games for six years. Chelsea have already revoked their season tickets. A 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was given a six-month referral order and also banned from matches until 2017. Phil Huxtable, representing all three, said they were remorseful and "shaken up" by their arrest. He said: "When they purchased the grenades it wasn't their intention to cause trouble as such. "It was their intention, should Chelsea have scored, that they would let them off. Fortunately that didn't happen." Deputy District Judge Neil Thomas told him: "It's the potential for disaster that makes this case so very serious and only a custodial sentence can be justified."

He doesn't need to justify the £12m we paid for him, Cortese does. He has without doubt improved the squad and will only improve the more he gets used to the English game and his fitness improves. The amount we paid for him is irrelevant when reviewing his contribution. If we had got him on a free how would you rate him?
-
That's not the point being made though. What's being said is that a player's pricetag should have no bearing on how you rate his performance or ability. Disagree?
-
The price tag is irrelevant when evaluating his performance. If Gaston was the one to value himself at £12m then fair play. If we had paid £3m for him then that doesn't suddenly make him a better player, it just makes it a shrewd move on behalf of Cortese. You can't decide on value for money until we sell him on.
-
But how is it Ramirez's fault that we overpaid for him?
-
Why does his price tag keep being mentioned? Rate him based on his performance and potential. If you think we overpaid for him then blame the chairman, not the player.
-
True, and we do seem to have our fair share.
-
Calm down, it's one game. One game we lost might I add. Judge him at the end of the season.

Don't forget where we were two years ago.
