Where I can get a Medium or Large home shirt?
simonsaints1 replied to doggface's topic in The Saints
Me too. Really gonna miss the sash-superb kit and unique in English footie. -
It seems our vocal support is poor whenever we venture north of birmingham-i was at Hudds and despite having around a 1,000 there we were poor. Just an observation and i think down to the composition of fans . (ie London area-more of a pi££ up and more "lads" in there 20s to 40s)
-
What i found strange was that before and after the match, Saints fans seemed to take over the whole area outside-with no Orient fans in evidence anywhere-yet inside, they were more impressive than any of the 10 or so away grounds i've been to!

Saints v MK Dons,1st half & half time chat...

Wouldnt it be good just for once that we came back and scored late goals. Been done to us enough times. Come on Saints, get 1 effing back NOW. -
Leyton Orient away sold out...Extra tickets allocated

Presumably we will end up with exactly the same as we had last year, ie the whole East Stand. -

I fear they would rather leave seats empty, segregation etc blah blah than sell to us. These clubs plead poverty yet all they have to do is shift their fans to one side and open a section for our over spill. Probably the police who dictate these matters. -
Yeah they're keen on re writing history, banging on about us having 9K against Ipswich in the prem, despite that being a game when the Brantfoot out campaign was in full swing.

Latest Four Four Two has him picking our best all time Saints team. Remember, we also used to refer to them as scummers-a fact i know because my old man is from that vile town!

Charlton 1 - 1 Saints - Post Match Reaction
simonsaints1 replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
We were poor the other night no doubt about it. Its getting tense as we near the closing stages and i'd settle for picking up points when we play poorly-look at Brighton at our place, woeful in the first half but they got the job done. Everything now hinges (IMO) on how the players who come in for AOC and AL play. Keep the faith. COYS -

Spot on-those burgers were different quality-I can taste them now. L Bridge is a great area, plenty of food and drink opportunities, nice women, shame it was all spoilt by the footie. We will bounce back. COYS -
Colchester 0 - 2 Saints - Post Match Reaction

Just got back-dire in the first 30 and they really looked up for it-we looked very dodgy in defence, but after we scored and they had a player sent off, we could have added a few more as the game went on. Functional, modern ground in the middle of no where-shame cos the town centre is very nice.Lots of history and nice pubs. -
The liquidator-Wolves.

That would be a shame-a lot of our fans would moan but many more would welcome an improved atmosphere. I'm astounded at the Palace fans-they've always been pretty cack at creatingg an atmos-shows what can be done.
-
Its an excellent idea-i'm up for it and would try and rope in a few more. I suggest getting a group together at the back of the Chapel. (I wonder if any existing STHs in the Northam would be allowed to swap their seats?)
-
Sandwich-have to disagree about your first list. Skates were loud against us at their dump but are moaning about the lack of atmos these days-leeds are good in big games and the others you mention are average and no louder than us. I'm afraid most English club grounds these days are pretty quiet-compare them to the opposition in European games.
-
Them these "loud home grounds" benji-i've been to a lot of away games in the championship and league 1 and am struggling to think of any that are louder than the northam. There may be a couple but i can't think of any!
-
A simple solution for those who criticise the varietyand speed of Northam songs, is to open a new front (ie a singing mob)at the Chapel end-there's enough space there and it would certainly help spread the atmosphere around the ground.

SAINTS CELEBRATE 125 YEARS at the Mayflower Feb 13th 2011
simonsaints1 replied to mel1961red's topic in The Saints
Sounds a great night. Many thanks for all of the reports from those who went. Would be great to do this again and have an even bigger crowd in attendance. If so, i hope there's more involvement from the present set up. We don't need any kind of rifts-celebrate our history but keep moving forward. -
Southampton v Portsmouth Charity Match
simonsaints1 replied to Matthew Le Tissier's topic in The Saints
Surely people like matt Le t and lawrie should be given freebies-other clubs such as Fulham hold their former players and managers in great esteem -so should we-Cortese is great for us but can't agree with him on this issue i'm afaid. -
very harsh punishment-yes, daft to have a pop at stewards but after going to places like Pbro yesterday, there would be a lot less tension and aggro if they were less in your face and kept quietly in the background.

Saints might be the biggest club, but do Pompey have the best fans?
simonsaints1 replied to dune's topic in The Muppet Show
Their fans are clearly not happy with... well their fans. pompeyfansonline have them furious about the clown with the drum and the fact they only sing Ner Ner Ner Ner Ner I'm Lovin it. -
Therer is an exactly, almost word for word account describing the behaviour of a teenage brighton, "foul mouthed fan" on northstandchat-(following their game at brighton)
-
If we do lose-lets keep things in perspective. We will still go up so please stay positive and don't get hysterical about NA.
-
These things are never done to suit us-always the player and the buying vulture club!
-
Dont like the prospect of becoming some kind of feeder club for arsenal. Develop your own players you feckers!
