  1. Indeed, but football is full of ifs and buts. Let's go and have a cracking promotion party at Wembley instead.
  2. If we win this and then beat Stoke at the weekend, we will be above Ipswich by the time they next play. Just saying. 😉
  3. I'm sure Russ will take flak from the usual suspects but today wasn't on him. For most of that game we played well and created a shit load of chances. Some of those misses were inexplicable but sum up our season. A fit and firing Stewart (or competent alternative) who actually puts away the easy chances, and we'd be going up automatically imo.
  4. In many ways the injury to Stu was worse than the result. He looked distraught, I'm gutted for him and also for us as he'll be a big miss in the playoffs.
  5. You can never please everyone so some people will moan, and there are some legit concerns, but I applaud the club for making these changes which should have been done a long time ago. Almost every proper stadium has a proper vocal home end, the fact that we are finally getting one and it will be all standing is exciting. However it's the fans that will make it work or not so I hope it gets good buy-in. I will be relocating from Kingsland North. With the whole Northam singing we should be able to make good noise reverberate around the stadium. I often hear those in the Chapel say they can only hear the away fans. The cheaper tickets and standing should appeal to the younger and more energetic fans which has to be good for the future. It's a like for like basis so the same number. Main difference is that there's a rail in front of each row.
  6. C'mon lads, one last big push and who knows what's possible, let's at least make the top 3 sweat a bit. The fans need to do their bit tonight, no moaning or negativity especially if we go behind. Let's get right behind them from the off. Winning is all that matters now, doesn't matter how. COYR
  7. Safe standing/rail seating still has seats, so they can still sit down if they wish.
  8. The scenes after that winning goal were epic, never seen anything like it at SMS! Still don't think we'll get top 2 but if you can't enjoy moments like that then football's not for you. Keeps the season alive, what a crazy league this is!
  9. Reading that thread, I had to remind myself that with 4 games to go they are top of the league. It's as bad as this place. A lot of football fans really are entitled morons.
  10. Eh? Aribo was brilliant tonight, clear MOTM. THB was good though.
  11. According to Alfie House... Leeds United offered Saints reciprocal pricing at the start of the season but suggested £15, which was deemed unreasonable by the club. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/24237786.leeds-united-charging-southampton-fans-47-away-tickets/
  12. Rather Stephens than Manning, no?
  13. Think people are being a bit harsh on Lumley. I think he's been pretty decent in the few appearances he's made, certainly no worse than Baz. Also don't forget he was voted Reading's player of the season last year so he obviously has something about him. Personally as we have little to play for until the playoffs, I'd give Baz some time out and see what Lumley can do for a few games.
  14. I think what you're missing from not being there is that those two blokes had helped get the atmosphere going in the first place, something the jobsworth stewards obviously took offence to. Hence the fully merited reaction to them.
  15. Absolutely terrible that the club failed to acknowledge in any way the death of Chris Nicholl. No mention at all, not even a picture on the scoreboard during the minutes applause (organised by fans). Combined with the disgusting treatment of those two fans in the Kingsland the club has had a shocker.
  16. Not much to say on the match itself, not a great performance but had enough chances to win it. We were never comfortable though and desperately needed that second goal. Auto's are gone now, very frustrating. As for the stewards in the Northam/Kingsland corner and especially that ginger woman, you're a fucking disgrace. Same goes for the useless cops who seemingly have nothing better to do than boot out a couple of harmless loyal fans. Pathetic cowards the lot of you, shame on the club.
  17. Hope you enjoy our wonderful weather! 😆
  18. Why are some of our fans so dead set against trying to create a better atmosphere? St Mary's is dull as fuck these days so anything that tries to improve that gets a thumbs up from me. I don't see anything on that link that's embarrassing or any mention of ultras.
  19. Indeed, if the EU were only a trading bloc we'd still be in it.
  20. Gotta feel for one of our old midfield stalwarts. Can you imagine the moaning from the likes of Klopp having to deal with this kind of fixture congestion, even makes our own run in look tame! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68630567
  21. Had the privilege of meeting him very briefly a few years ago. Knowing who he was and also that he posted on here I'd have loved to have had more of a chat with him but sadly didn't have time. He did seem like a lovely down to earth bloke. Very sad news. RIP.
  22. Well he's not really a striker he's a winger, and we have plenty of those. The finances recently released show we did need to sell to some extent at least, and an offer of more than £20M for someone who had proved nothing outside the Championship was probably too good to turn down. That, plus I think it's clear Tella didn't want to hang around in the Championship again, especially with a top Bundesliga club in for him.
  23. 4-0 wins against Blackburn and Sheff Weds. 5-0 against Swansea... 😉
  24. God the relentless negativity on here from some, even when we win is tiring. I enjoyed today, lots of goals and entertainment again as is becoming the norm, no-one can say we're boring. Aside from the little wobble we played well and could have won by a bigger margin. I would agree that Stephens should be at RB rather than THB but I don't think it made a big impact today and KWP should be back next game anyway. Rothwell deserves more credit than he gets too, another 2 vital goals, first was a good finish in particular. Their defence couldn't handle Sully, if only he could finish. Top 2 still seems unlikely but it's far from over yet. UTS
  25. Wasn't at the game but tbf that safe standing area behind the goal looked half empty. Also that stand was closed for redevelopment for the first few months of the season so I'm guessing there's no ST holders in there. Probably next season that will become there main singing and standing area.
