  1. All this rest is nonsense. Most players would rather play than train. There are no guarantees that any player can get injured at any time. Koeman has already showed that he makes few changes and only through those enforced plus bedding in a few of the kids. Every game we want to win. Get used to it folks
  2. Am driving from Woking if any one wants to join me. 07802 275097
  3. No you should have said "You will not be reincarnated as a sacred bull unless you stop white furry thing who breeds faster than your aunty in Bengal chewing my sacred cable attached to Buddha router"
  4. Compare him to Shilton, Niemi and you can really appreciate that he is a long way behind those guys and the gulf between Shilton and Niemi was big too!!
  5. Is not a goalkeeper part of the defence? Yes defenders make mistakes but Goalkeeper mistakes are often more costly and the decision making is more crucial. It requires enormous powers of concentration to be a top level keeper. Not saying Forster is bad but so far this season he has benefitted from an outstanding defence in front of him
  6. No both decisions were wrong IMO. One lead to a goal the other a last ditch save. Goalkeeping is mainly anticipation to AVOID making saves. In this respect his reading of the game is suspect at the moment.
  7. Yes but he should have been out beforehand. Just as his judgement was wrong against Villa so was he in this instance but got lucky
  8. Yes I think we will. Quarter final two games from Wembley and very winnable and Sheffield is much better than Stoke and we took 2500 to that ground ( me included))
  9. I can only remember two other overhead scissors kick goals which counted. Wallace against Liverpool back in 84 and Delap against Spurs in 2004? The other one was Keegans against Man U that was ridiculously disallowed for offside in 82. Have I missed any?
  10. Yes phoned the ticket office as I oredered QPR tickets at the same time and they arrived Wednesday. Told by ticket office athat all would be mailed out by Thursday.
  11. Really ! What percentage arent? 1%
  12. No been posting for several years.Ex player. Born in Bitterne. I just think that this thread is past its sell by date.It is not about any takeover anymore but a simmering and sometimes indignant rant against all things Pompey. Nothing wrong in that per se but it is no longer about a takeover. As for being simple!! Well I simply have a different viewpoint. Does that make me simple or is the poster of that stupid comment a simpleton?
  13. Move on mate
  14. I post infrequently and am always surprised that this thread is still going and most of the current comments are from the same old people. I dislike all things Pompey as most of us do, but it is NO longer about a takeover.
  15. They are and I agree that this thread has run its course. It is now Pompey bashing.
  16. Quite an ironic quote "Matthew le I do not exist"
  17. As an ex goalie I must confess that he is not good. Confidence is one thing but what was more alarming is his reluctance to use his hands to stop shops. FFS that is what they are for. His positional play and reading of the game is poor. I wonder how much communication he was giving his defenders? Yes keepers may improve with age but there has to be both talent and mental toughness which I doubt he possesses either
  18. I hope not. It took an hour and fifteen minutes to get to the Cowherds on Saturday. Imagine what the traffic would be like with 40,000 gate!!
  19. Not in the slightest. I think that once you move away from any home town you see it in a different light. Some with nostalgia and some as it really is. It would appear that many have said that they would not return to the City itself but surrounding areas which is testament to the area but a sad indictment on the City itself. I lived in California but I certainly would not go back. Equally, I could not see myself living again in Soton but like others could be attracted back to the locale if only for the footee and cricket.
  20. I remeber going to Long Beach and staying on the Queen Mary and ironically reading a book about my home city. Such an iconic ship could have become a hotel in Southampton with a bit of imagination as well as a tourist icon much like Pompey has Victory.
  21. If it was a prefab it was probably moved to golf course road in your sleep LOL
  22. Seems that many would return to Romsey, Hedge End , Cadnam, Winchester but not Southampton itself. Other than Bassett and some parts of the "City" much of the housing stock is mid thirties or post war council estates. I think all the bloody traffic lights would drive me crazy. By the way the comments about Woking may be true but I am 25 minutes from London 14 miles from Heathrow and there is also some lovely countryside nearby.
