  1. To misquote "Donkey" from Shrek..."Are they dead yet?"
  2. I think we all know that this is only the beginning of unravelling a whole web of corruption and greed that will no doubt lead to criminal charges. No doubt there will be endless Panorama type programmes and while Pompey will be the eye of the storm at the moment others will follow unless the Premier League get their act together. IMO they are just as criminal as the Directors of PCFC. Anyhow Mero there is always Redditch !!
  3. PLease Please encourage all your Pompey fans that you know to go to the OLD BAILEY.,Please
  4. Sorry just got this from BBC 606. Pompey fans are trying to organise a protest on March 1st outside the court... Sorry but I nearly wet myself. You can imagine it now can't you ? The main court is the Old Bailey and a protest outside there always gets on TV no matter if its 5 or 50 people. The earlier in the day the better as the press and TV like to get their stories in early if you guys are serious I'd say get ther at 9 to 9.30 am as sittings don't start until 10 - 10.30am Maybe march to parliament after. People will listen to you but sometimes you have to make them. http://www.londontown.com/LondonStreets/old_bailey_db6.html That link has a good map and also it has good train station guides http://maps.google.com/maps?q=old+bailey++map+london&rls=com.microsoft:en-gb:IE-SearchBox&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7ADBF_en-GB&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=Old+Bailey,+London,+UK&ei=YD99S8bBEcbKjAfM8aWLDA&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CAoQ8gEwAA The second one has more detail. You can go via southwest trains or stagecoach. If Pompey fans agree to go I'll meet you at the station.
  5. No it is Portsmouth City Football Club, Portsmouth Football Club PFC was wound up ten years ago but yes it is still Pompey !!!
  6. My concern here is that the current FFP test cannot work as they have no effective sanction. At the end of the day greed drives everything currently so the only effective way of regulating Premier League Clubs is to have the accounts made transparent and restrict overtrading while in debt.
  7. Given the state of PCFC and the total intransigence of the EPL to do anything against PCFC for fear of tarnishing their "brand" I wonder what ideas we have for their reform? We all know that the Fit and proper test is a joke but there are things that I believe that they must do to have control of the debt that could implode upon them from other clubs. Some suggestions: 1. The EPL maintain ensure that the HMRC receive VAT at the time of the transfer by using funds held on behalf the Club in question. In effect the EPL pay HMRC on behalf of their clubs 2.. All transfers and payment shedules must be processed through the EPL.In the event of non-payment that amount be witheld and interest added applied until paid. 3. The FIt and proper persons test be abolished 4. The EPL devise a mechanism whereby the levels of debt/turnover could result in a club be relegated or funds reduced to that club if exceeded during the course of a season. 5 Each club is subject to an idependent audit and that audit be made public (transparency) There is just a few please add others..Who knows this thread could go on a long time !!!
  8. All this makes sense. I could never understand why Azougi would have been appointed by an Arab. Tell me if I am wrong but it would be business suicide to for a supposed leading Saudi businessman to be working with Israelis. Dubai Phil could tell me if I am wrong here. It also explains why Jacobs is still on the board. So in essence Gaydamak has been the owner all along (especially as it has never been paid) PCFC has been a vehicle for money laundering .Do we know if Storrie is Jewish? I realsie that this may offend some and I am not anti-semetic but the connections appear rather strong and more than coincidental.
  9. So know we await the inevetable denials from Storrie that they are insolvent so that he can still encorage the phantom investor before the 1st of March. Of course any investor would want to look at that document and then wait to see if they get wound up on the 1st..so IMO they cannot get investment and will be wound up. Right?
  10. But I think we will beat Norwich
  11. My understanding is that they have to be able demonstrate that they have the ability to pay by WEDNESDAY as well as prove that they are not insolvent. If not they get wound up. Am I wrong?
  12. Difference is that Saints and Arsenal was business between two clubs. If EPL advance money then they would have to be seen to be even handed and advance it to all clubs. After all that would only be fair, wouldn't it ?
  13. Thinking of resigning eh...with all these offers on the table,Peter.Me thinks you are telling porky pies again. In fishy analogy another Red Herring
  14. No news from Ticket Office re availability for tickets. They said should know by Wednesday!!
  15. We are not in the Championship. Anyhow what is your analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of our two goalkeepers?
  16. 4 points ?
  17. Interesting how the media has caught on to what we all here have been saying for ages.Never thought I would ever read an article from the News of the World that actually had long articulate sentences.
  18. Look any buyer would want to see the statement of accounts and indeed a much more thorough scrutiny of the business. If Pompey's books show they are insolvent then any buyer would buy them from the liqidator for peanuts. If on the other hand they show that they are not insolvent then they will be able to pay all their debts by Wednesday....but of course we all know that is dependent on a rich investor putting the cash in by Wednesday as equity, not loans as that will only increase their liabilities further.
  19. All four points going nowhere !!! but intersecting om Wednesday where the coil will be wound up and be no more...if I am not mistaken
  20. Someone of substance is probably The fat Lady.... So no due diligence on a £60 million debt. My clients often take three months on £600,000 deals . If they did not undertake any due diligence then they must be idiots but then again you would have to be to buy PCFC.... So how many idiots are there out there with £60- £300million to throw away...or launder?
  21. So who do you support?
  22. Just wonder, Merovingian, that you are like many Saints fans, last year who fely disenfranchised by their own club.Torn between the allegiance we have at birth with the team we love but not the owners who run the club. I can only assume that is the reason for your declining gates. I suspect that deep down you know that the majority of people on this site are empathetic to YOU the person as you are articulate and reasonable as well as brave. However, I am sure you know that the parallels between us last year and your current circumstance are very different. Our agony was whether we find a buyer.Yours is who the hell would invest in a currupt business with little likely return. While I know you will live in hope that that corruption may be eliminated and a genuine investor may emerge at the eleventh hour. It is unlikely to happen. If as I suspect Pompey go to the wall and the way that the club has been run it deserves to, you my friend do not deserve your club.
  23. Er.. A court judge siad they were trading when insolvent....and you have seven days to PROVE otherwise. I rest my case etc
  24. As an ex goalie myself I would agree that Davies is a good shot stopper but does not command his box and therefore puts pressure on his back four. His kicking though is good, better than Bartosz. The main difference between the two is that Davies plays with confidence, despite his shortcomings, but Bart always seems hesitant. IMO opion neither are that good and next year we will need a better quality keeper to read the game better and be decisive. Keeping is 50% shot stopping and 50% preventing the opportunity.
  25. My understanding is that they have to do two things. Be able to demonstrate that they can pay all the outstanding debts by next Wednesday. They also have to demonstrate that they HAVE BEEN TRADING AS A GOING CONCERN as they Judge has already indicated they are insolvent by the report produced by Dulieu's Accontancy firm. Therefore, if they were to receive finance thereafter it should, in theory, be end of story. However, IMO the Judge should have issued the winding up order last week
