And only really used to working with elite players... Not our type of guy at all noting our strategy for developing our academy lads. Van Bronckhorst is an interesting suggestion. Granted he has the CL to look forward to with Feyenoord, but perhaps he might have realised he can take them as far as he can with the Dutch title and choose to chance his arm in the Prem.

He would do very nicely indeed

Some people on here stating that we could not attract Tuchel.. Possibly the same people who were incredulous when we attracted Koeman too??? We are quite big and progressive enough to attract Tuchel - Assuming of course we want him.
-
I recall him getting game time for Turkey at last years Euro's , but I cannot really remember him ! probably more impressed by Turan and Mor at the time..
-
Definitely - Very impressive lad. When we thrashed MCFC at home last season, he was their only player who gave us any problems that day.
-
Tuchel is quite possibly going to be available - Big fall out at Dortmund and he is unlikely to survive the Watske/Zorc retribution ! I would have him in a heartbeat.

Very proud of all the team, and the the manager who set up the side so well. Sometimes in life you don't get what you deserve, but hopefully we can take it as a spur to kick on so that next time it our turn to celebrate. Not for a long time have I seen a Manure side so battered and without Zlatan they would be mid table in my opinion. Mourinho summed it up by his face, words and bosy language after the game - he knew they did not deserve to win that.. Gabba was fantastic of course but Yoshi gets my MOTM... he was immense back there. Proud Saints !
-
Great credit to Puel... His tactics were absolutely right today. In hindsight he might have considered bringing Long on 10 minutes earlier to give Smalling and Bailly a harder time but otherwise he did a superb job.. I to have criticised him this season at times, but not yesterday..

I suppose with Juventus first choice back 3 of Bonnucci, Chiellini and Barzagli then being a back up to those 3 was not too shabby a place to be really. He does have an excellent CV so his quality is not in doubt - However his fitness is !
-
Repeated injuries, unfit and slower than Wes Morgan !

To be honest I would prefer Ake and McGuire -

Is there a good reason why Martin Caceres is still without a club 6 months into the new season. I mean his CV is impressive and he still is the right side of 30.. What is the black box warning us against with him? -
Not very good due diligence then.. Usually I'm very supportive of the club and in fairness, I am pleased they have signed Gabbiadini as an attacking option but they have not done well with our options at the back!

I've not been about much for the past couple of days so am a bit behind on the news.. What happened with Serdar Tasci? Did'nt want to come?
-
Same height as the greatest ever goalkeeper... Gordon Banks.
-
Tasci was a bit injury prone, missed the 2010 world cup because of this I seem to recall but was a more than decent defender at that time. Not sure how its gone for him recently though. Still for a loan or £4m could do worse I think..
-
Wes Tender will know if he is around.
-
Fantastic contribution to a special goal from the lad. Fast, direct and a perfectly weighted pass to Shane to finish it off.. Really impressed by him when he has had game time, and I look forward to seeing him develop further for us.
-
I have just calmed down a bit, but still savouring the epic and heroic performance of a young team against one of the so called "wonder-teams". We absolutely deserved all the rewards this cup final brings, honestly we really did outplay them by superb tactics from Claude.. And what a goal, not just for the emotional significance but it really was a top, top goal fashioned by Cedric, Josh and Shane with a superb finish.. What scenes, what drama, what a night !!
-
Exposure not only for the club in a very populous and affluent part of the world, but for Virgin Media branding purposes too I would think. It will be a good experience for us I think.
-
£5 million apparently - Source my West Ham fan of a boss who is less than impressed..
-
Agree - I am still wracked with disappointment about our exit from Europe, and the frankly listless, turgid attacking display we turned in against Beer'Sheva. Since then apart from against Bournemouth where we were ruddy good to be honest, we have been much the same.. It's frustrating because you can see the potential but we have foregone many points/wins etc because of our failure to convert our chances because of the lack of a Rickie/Pelle type goalscorer. I am very much still in Kat's camp in terms of support but I totally agree that even somebody of the shot sight of Mr Magoo could identify we wre a striker light at the start of the season, and with Charlie injured we are now 2 short!
-
Leverkusen open to selling Chicharito... Now there is a natural goalscorer we could really do with
-
Absolutley... He has been fantastic for us in his (almost) 300 games for the club. Very sad that he wants to leave, but he will get a good send off from me..

Over the past few seasons (Championship and Prem), I never really worried too much if we ever went a goal (or 2 ) down as I had always felt we had the ability to score at any time. We have not had a goal-scoring midfielder for a while now but we had Lambert, Lallana, Pelle, Mane - Jay when he was fit, Billy for the short time he was here and even Guly chipped in with a dozen goals on our promotion season. Right now, I struggle to see where our goals are going to come from, especially with Charlie injured. That is down to personnel I am afraid, and the bad decision in the summer not to recruit a goal- scoring striker to replace part of the contribution from Pelle and Mane. This must be addressed otherwise I can see us scoring 30 goals this season, which given our pourous defence over the last few games, might send us close to trouble!
