  1. £80 million is a £30 million premium above the amount being touted at the start of the summer transfer window. I don't care who we mug off for that amount - I still say get rid of the poisonous brat.
  2. His attitude and professionalism has always been exemplary, and he is a decent centre back who always gives his best for the shirt. Very happy he has been rewarded by the club in this manner.
  3. http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/898335495?-11205:798:0 Seems to be some traction behind this rumour..
  4. Wilde posted under the old forum as St Mark..
  5. I could not agree more. They have been fantastic owners. People who as a fan, I trusted 100% to do the right thing by the club and they always delivered on that score. While times and circumstances change of course, I agree with Alpine that there is a feeling of sadness that they are no longer our owners. Again thankyou to the Liebherr family for everything you have done for our club - You have been the best.
  6. I hav'nt seen that much of him but agree the 1 game I did see he was fine. I cannot recall though if he was dominant in the air though, which is something I think we desperately need. Any thoughts?
  7. Apart from being ginger (but maybe in the next few years) Redknapp is getting more like his old man everyday spouting a load of populist crap to keep his bank account rolling ... I'm just waiting for his first "F'sure" of the season.
  8. They are even copying and pasting some of the comments from this thread on RAWK - Just swapping the words VVD for Coutinho
  9. Cheers - Good update Just goes on to show what an absolute shower Liverpool are... They can't even tap somebody up properly without dropping a bollock

  11. Cheers Tom Good news too that we are looking to recruit now rather than wait until Virgil wet pants is sold... That perhaps re-enforces the assumption that we are talking to the likes of Hoedt now, who it appears would be a good signing (not to mention being fit and match ready too).
  12. I really could not care less about Liverpool. They have history in hurting themselves and it does not need any additional help from us for that to continue. I do care about us though, and I think it is imperative we enter this new season in good shape with an esprit de corp and not disjointed and affected by outside interests. If that means shipping out the bad apple (s) then ship them out!
  13. I don't see it that way. By us making a stand along the lines you describe we are hurting nobody but ourselves here. I have long come to the conclusion that footballers contracts are worthless pieces of paper anyway, and I put the blame firmly at the door of greedy agents more than anything, but nonetheless it seems no club is immune to such behaviour. The Scouser's themselves will probably find that out if Coutinho gets his heart set on a move to Barcelona anyway. Barcelona themselves are not immune given Neymar's antics over the past couple of weeks. I would rather concentrate on what is best for us this season, and that means in my opinion, a happy tight knit squad pulling in the same direction under the new manager, and not distracted by a stroppy wet kid stamping his feet.
  14. I'm going out on a limb here, but I really cannot understand why we just don't say sod it, sod him and sell him ! To put it mildly, he is a disruptive influence around the club now and his stroppy teenager attitude is not going to change anytime soon. How can we entrust a place in the team (never mind as captain) to somebody throwing toys out of his pram. We need a stable, well drilled team all playing for the new manager right now, and that is something that will send us into having a far more successful season than a disjointed squad dancing to the tune of one individual and probably causing resentment among his team mates. I don't case how good he is as a player - Either Fit In or Feck Off.... !! We will get a hefty price for him and be able to replace him with 2 or 3 bloody good players that will strengthen our squad, and keep the highly important team spirit at the right (high) level...
  15. I don't see it that way. Agree Liverpool do not seem capable of functioning without the help of the Saints over the past 2-3 seasons, but if they are mad enough to pay a very heavy price to secure the services of one of our talents, then business is business. As Ron said above, he will not be ready for a good month into the season anyway given his lack of playing time this year and if we re-invest the bucks Liverpool will no doubt be paying us wisely, then we could stand to be stronger this season..
  16. Big ****** players usually are... I see even Barcelona are not immune with Neymar storming out of camp today.. Let him go and re-focus on the team we have and those that will bound to come in now. Wimmer is a downgrade now, but he has potential to become a really good player.
  17. Why worry... The team is bigger than any one individual (Leicester proved that).. I would rather have a focussed strong team pulling in the same direction than one stroppy individual diverting attention away from that. Wimmer would be a decent enough replacement.
  18. I wonder whether Wesley Sneijder will still be a free agent as the transfer window advances towards closure... Now that is a player (even at the age of 33) who I would not mind us paying some big wages for a year or two...
  19. If we are in for a loan, I was rather hoping we might turn our attention to Marcos Llorente, given his connection with MPell at Alaves last season.. All quiet on that front however..
  20. I wish the lad well and hope he can fulfil the promise he showed under Poch
  21. He's different to Saint Richmond
  22. We could be seeing a similar style of play to what Poch adopted by the sounds of it... I would have no complaints about that.
  23. Schalke seriously under-performed last season. Should be CL contenders every season really, and they spent much of the season battling against falling into the relegation zone. I have many friends in Germany and the huge Schalke support was quite unimpressed by him. In fairness, however KLopp had the same problem at Dortmund in his last season there where he plunged them into the bottom 2 for a while before eventually dragging them out of it.
  24. Not one word of the above is wrong at all... While I do tend to be much more an optimist and will wait to see how the next 2 months pan out, it is not an inescapable fact that last season was poor in comparison to the previous 5 or 6 seasons. I had high hopes after a very good (albeit losing) performance in Milan, but that December night at SMS when we could not get by a very limited Beersheva side to qualify for the last 32 of the Europa league really hit home to me that the club was not in as great a shape as it should have been.. Les has much to do this summer to re-strike the balance.
  25. Absolutely agree. 8th was a good league position but a huge gap to 7th, and we were only 6 points off Dalek's baseline of 17th, so nothing to crow about at all. That and an unnerving inability to score goals and a lame exit from Europe. It was time to cut our losses with Claude and I look forward to a new appointment and a new approach that can re-engage with the fans.
