  1. In terms of Premier league experience, nobody can complain about this appointment. He know's this league and what it takes to get results as good as anybody, and although it might not be pretty at times I think we as fans will more than settle for Prem survival and a shot at the cup if we were offered it right now, and he is the guy at this time who could do this. Good luck chap - We are right behind you.
  2. Nobody can complain he does not have Premiership experience, and other than his final stint at Stoke he has generally done well. Maybe he might not be revolutionary ,young , hungry coach many of us would like to see (similar to Poch for example), but he sure knows what he is doing in this league and takes no nonsense. If we land him, then a warm welcome to him from me.
  3. A tiara to befit his princess tippy toes status
  4. Agree, we have to go at them and they can be flaky when this happens, but against them attack is the best form of defence as Spurs showed. The risk is of course that as they are lighting quick on the break we are vulnerable if we let Salah and Saido have too much space so Romeu needs to be alert.
  5. The challenge did dislodge his tiara though
  6. Agree, he is little better than Pell in my opinion with the added extra of a ****e attitude. As Rodgers or Rowett will not be available for persuasion until the summer we need somebody who knows this league well, and of those available it has to be Hughes.
  7. I don't wholly blame him, he seems like a decent enough guy personally. But he is clearly operating above his capability and only one person can solve that problem and that's bloody slow coach Les! The most indecisive man in Christendom!! It is towards Les the disapprobation should be directed, and not the guy he put there.
  8. I will always be very grateful to Markus for whatever reasons he had, saving our club. But the biggest loss to us (and I said so at the time) was the firing of Cortese. I genuinely thought that under his offices, we could smash a glass ceiling into the top 4. He genuinely wanted to do it and was driven enough to achieve it. Kat however, had different ideas in how she wanted to manage her legacy and sadly, Duncan's assessment is right.
  9. Home to Hull... We can give Nigel a rousing reception.
  10. Welcome Guido... Score a hat full of goals for us please..
  11. Schurrle is the obvious alternative here, and he is available for loan if not for an outright purchase... I would prefer him to Promes TBH... For those who bemoan the lack of Premiership experience then he would solve that problem too.
  12. Tasci, now at Spartak Moscow with Promes funnily enough
  13. I remember seeing him play and he was more than just a decent full back. Fine positional sense who could deliver a great cross and seldom wasted a pass. On top of that as countless others have said, he was a gentleman of the game, a superb pundit and a loyal servant to Blackpool. Saddened he has he passed.
  14. I feel sorry for Pellegrino. It is after all not his fault that he has been promoted above his ability, and he does carry himself with dignity so I would not have a wish to batter him more than he is already. As others have said, the fault lies higher than him in the club hierarchy and it is toward them where my protest would be aimed.
  15. Very impressed by Christophe Zimmermann (Norwich City) against Chelsea last night. Real good solid centre back that appears to have some leadership qualities about him too. That lad Reed in the midfield also looks decent !!
  16. Now he was a bloody good centre forward as well as a trail blazer for black players at a time when they were subject to all sorts of horrible crap. Very sad to hear of his passing
  17. I would go further, it is ineptitude in my opinion. It almost feels as though the hierarchy don't give a ****
  18. He performed commendably well on his first serious outing, and out of position too. He can and will get better too
  19. Agree, and this guy might just be the answer. He looks "gettable" too.
  20. Agree, he does appear to have what it takes to organise a side and get them playing. I would welcome him here
  21. I'd take Mawson from Swansea and also agree Promes would be a good addition too. I wonder whether we could tempt that lad Fekir at Lyon too - The guy that mullered Everton earlier this season.
  22. Totally agree. I said so at the time, as in my opinion it was far more important to have a squad of players pulling in the same direction as opposed to an ongoing saga with a mooching brat skulking around the place casting a pall wherever he went. by keeping hold of him until now, we hurt Liverpool a bit but have hurt ourselves far more.
  23. Bayern passed him over quite quickly when they re-appointed the 72 year old Heynckes.. I'm not sure if he is as good as his hype at all to be honest. One of the Evertonians beefs about RonKo was his cold, matter of fact nature that alienated some of the players and I think Tuchel is cut of similar cloth. The one manager who has impressed me is Wagner, but I don't see him leaving 'Udders anytime soon.
  24. So what about all these rumours coming out of the London media at the moment saying we will sell VVD to Arsenal if Theo comes back the other way as part of the deal...?? Personally if the wages issue can be overcome I would bite their hand off..
  25. Cheers Tom I quite like option 2...
