Apologies, don't think my post was worded correctly. My point was simply that you were not "open minded" if you felt it Ok to call those who simply questioned immigration or islamic extremism racist, leaving to one side the argument over the extent the two issues were linked.
-
Yes of course! If the moderators seriously thought that there was a problem with racist or "nazi" posts on this thread (or any thread) it would have been locked ages ago.
-
How?
-
No you're not "open-minded" if you are happy to call people "nazi" or "racist" on the basis that they believe Islamic extremism and immigration (not necessarily linked) are issues this country needs to consider and address. Still not able to point out where these tons of racist posts are either. And strange that this thread has been able to continue for so long considering it is full of "nazi" and "racist" post...
-
This thread was moved onto immigration by those "to the left". For what its worth, there are issues connected with mass immigration, non-intergration and the development of development of Islamic extremism. Not once has anyone said that by getting rid of all immigrants the problem of Islamic extremism would be solved, you're the only one to say that. Your method of shouting "nazi" or "racist" at those who's views differ to your own show a similar level of small-mindedness and prejudice as those you claim to oppose. Still struggling to pick out any clearly racist posts out of the several hundred as well.........

At least you've partly hit on the fact that you don't know what the impact of large scale immigration into Winchester would be - surprising coming from someone that is "pro-immigration", I thought you would be praising how brilliant it would be. At the end of the day, you live in Winchester, a comfortable, white, middle-class cathedral city and you enjoy belittling those less fortunate than yourself who find themselves living in Luton, Bradford or East London and have found their communities swamped over the last 30 years by immigrants who show little effort at intergration. I wouldn't be surprised if the limit to your interaction with immigrants is being able to get a builder on the cheap or using a late-night petrol station or mini-cab, all nice, positive contributions to your comfortable middle-class life? As opposed to being the only English family living in your street? Or your kids attending classes where a significant number of other pupils cannot speak English? Or your local shop being turned into an Islamic bookshop? I've got no doubt that those running and organising the EDL are not the sharpest political minds this country has to offer and that eventualy the EDL will fade away. But the majority are not violent extremists, but just normal blokes who feel that there is a genuine, growing threat from islamic extremists. They're probably not going about it the right way and partly because of that and partly because of the extent of negative media coverage they are receiving it will put off a much greater number of more presentable supporters who believe in their message, but would not want their faces splashed across the Guardian with a "neo-nazi" comparison story or being chased and attacked by hundreds of muslim youths.

"Kadeem Hardison" is a wind-up ffs! As shown on this page, it's proving very difficult to find a racist comment out of 400+ posts.
-
Where are all the racist comments?

Keep it as it is, but open the Itchen North again as stated above. There are a number of mainly logisitcal reasons why the away fans can't be moved unfortunately.

Getting closer... Still haven't answered what you consider is acceptable as a level of immigration. How do you think Winchester would do with 5,000 immigrants of any kind? 10,000?
-
Ah, what a pity. Thought you were going to give a serious reply for a moment....
-
Do you believe that immigration should be limited to a certain amount? Do you believe that this country has had a correct level of immigration over the last 30 years?
-
Absolute rubbish! They couldn't have given worse advice if they'd tried....

Am I the only one who would probably keep Wayne Thomas in the side ahead of Murty?

Some interesting stuff in these links. For example, from the UK border agency site "In the first half of 2009, 30,435 people illegally in the United Kingdom were removed or voluntarily departed from the country, including 2,550 foreign prisoners." Maybe it's just me being a rabid, right-wing extremist, but is any one else shocked that there were 2,550 foreign prisoners to deport in the first place! Yes, getting even further off topic now I know......

Must be my ever worsening eye-sight lol! Still think he went to ground and dived in a bit too often really, probably splitting hairs now, as I do rate him.

A delightful start to a response from the message board admin. take your time to read my post. I don't for a second suggest that all immigrants head straight to this country. I am sure that we're well down the list. And so we should be as an overcrowded island in the north-west of Europe. My issue is with those individulas that do head straight through numerous safe european countries and spend months trying every trick in the book to get into this country. Have you ever thought why they try so hard while currently being in main land France? If you were genuinely fleeing for your life you would stop in the first safe country you came to. The majority that come here are econmic migrants. Yes, if I could signigficantly better myslef by moving across the world, I would possibly try to do the same. However, as I have asked above, at what level would you class as an acceptable level of immigration into this country? I take it you agree that there should be some kind of limit?
-
I agree that hammond looks good, exactly what we've been looking for, however on another day he could have easily been sent off, how often did he dive in two-footed, especially when there was no apparent need whatsoever?
-
Haven't seen any of sign of him being anywhere near as good a striker of the ball as either of those two, fingers crossed we'll see that soon.
-
But that's kind of the point that gets people agitated. The fact that so many travel straight through main land Europe and try every trick in the book to get into Britain while waiting months at Calais. If I was really fleeing for my life, then I'd be thankful that I'd reached the first safe country I'd got to and count my blessings and stop there. There was a story in the Evening Standard last year of an Afghan family living in £1million + home in Ealing, all courtesy of the British tax payer, furthermore they complained that it had much less space for them than their old house back in Afghan. they had a wide-screen TV, playstation etc. Extreme example I know, but surely you must understand how that would frustrate those who work their b***s off their whole life in this country without ever coming close to living in such a house? And just because there are "indigenous scum" who milk the benefit system, does not mean that it is therefore OK to add to this in anyway from immigrants coming in.
-
Yes we're going slightly off topic now. But a question to those "on the left" - what would you consider as too much immigration?
-
Any particular reason why?
-
Rightly or wrongly, if I was to go into the majority of home fans pubs close to the ground at a lot of away games and started singing "Red Army" and generally being a bit gobby, I'd expect to get sent on my way. We're no better or worse than the vast majority of clubs, there'll be 1,400 senseible Yeovil fans who had a trouble free day on Saturday and 10 idiot Yeovil fans that didn't.
-
Bit poor, I guess with pay on the day they'll make close to 2k, not bad as a percentage of their home support. Hopefully 18k+ for another home game!

You're clearly just a wind-up merchant along with a fair few others on here.
