You think you're so clever? None of the charges towards any of these individuals related to incitement (as far as we currently know). They have been give 12months + prison sentences for as little as shaking a fence aggresively and it's a joke - or do I need to put that in capitals? Would be looking at possibly doubling (or close to) the sentences if any of these contested the charges and actually went not guilty. Madness and I find it disgusting the way some on here have literally got a hard-on from the fact that as a result of 1 minute of stupidity blokes with clear records, jobs, families, etc are looking at year long prison sentences (yes I know they won't have to serve all of it, but that's not really the point). I hope most of the utterly smug c**ts on here never f**k up and do something rash and stupid and get an unduly harsh punishment for it.

Utter B*****S, there was no reason why any Saints fan/or member of public would have had to walk through or be ANYWHERE near the incident.
-
Giving kids who nick some sweets a year in prison might act as a deterrent, doesn't mean it would be a fair sentence.
-
Not really, that's what the majority of this thread has been about.
-
Our taxes would be a lot lower if everyone in society could be trusted to behave. Unfortunately human nature doesn't always work like that, as much as we may like it to.
-
Anyone who thinks that blokes who act stupidly in the heat of the moment, get carried away and shake a fence aggressively (some of those were convicted just of that and for not of even throwing anything), with no previous convictions, good employment records, mortgage and kids etc, deserve to be sent to prison for a year, then they are a bit odd to say the least. Sad that we've got such snivelling, curtain twitching, oddballs amongst our support.

Jesus wept, I gave up on you a long time ago.

You sum up the vast majority of people on these forums, not allowing the fact that you have "no understanding of any of it" and "I don't know any of the facts" stand in the way of having your chance to spout forrth your bizarre rhetoric. Boring day in the office? Nothing on tv at home? I'll jump on saintsweb and waffle away on there. Where is ANYONE saying that "no-one is responsible"? Or have you got the wrong thread?
-
Yet another bod on here who posts on the matter without having an understanding of the concepts involved, such as what the definition of violent disorder is.
-
Can I just ask why you go onto a football forum and make sweeping moral judgements about people you have never met and know nothing about? Don't you think that is a bit odd?
-
Where are people condoning their behaviour? You're missing the point as per usual.
-
Away fans are kept in while home fans are dispersed at every single major derby in the country. Why do you think that is?
-
Er no, they are being sent down for throwing a coin, "pre-meditation" has nothing to do with the sentencing. HTH and all that.
-
Exactly. As I said on here a few months ago (and had no nothing idiots trying to disagree with me), these lads would be hammered with completely disproportionate sentences to the crime. It people misbehave at football, by all means arrest and punish them, but this is clearly politically driven to make a point and is therefore grossly unfair. Best wishes to the lads and families concerned.

How long before an Asian or African team win the world cup?
Sour Mash replied to Turkish's topic in General Sports
Won't happen for a long, long time. USA to win the world cup before an African or Asian nation does. -
I think exams have probably got a bit easier, but isn't it largely that schools, teachers and pupils have got better at working out the system and knowing what they need to do to get the kids high grades, what wins high marks, as opposed to necessarily making the kids cleverer?
-
Exactly. So we don't need the money that a shirt sponsorship deal could pull in (that would cover A LOT of £3 transaction fees), but we'll hammer a fair few people who for whatever reason by tickets singularly and/or live far from St Marys. Strange decisions being made to say the least. And wait to see how long the queues will be before home match days as people from out of Southampton try and buy their away match tickets.....
-
Well there has been circa 10k empty seats at most home games last season, so I'm not so sure how that applies.
-
Yep, I f*****g complain, hate booking fees for anything, its a complete rip off. Also, all it will achieve is more work for the ticket office, as there will be massive queues on home match days with people buying their tickets then.
-
How many default? Very few I'd imagine. You miss the point. It doesn't matter, whether or not the club should be helping fans "manage" their own finances, the club will lose match day supporters as a result of what was announced Monday night, at a point when most home games have 12k empty seats.
-
Great city to visit and watch football in. I've been to see Fenerbache play and found it a surprisingly relaxed and family type atmosphere. Smart, very modern ground. Always worth getting the better seats, which aren't that cheap, think we paid close to £30, we just went down to the ground a couple of days before and got them, but it wasn't a big game. Decent journey over to the Asian side of the city as well by ferry. NOt too sure re Galatasary and Besiktas, think the atmosphere at these two is a bit less welcoming!
-
For F***S sake that is S**T! Will just mean long queues at the ticket office on home match days, as that's when I'll have to buy mine if I want them to go against my season ticket (as oppossed to just buying on the day at the away ground). No was am I paying possibly an extra £60+ to do Saints away games over the season.

Spot on summary of the last couple of months. It's not even the decisions themselves that are the problem, but the terrible way they have been communicated to the fans.
