Exactly, this is one of the things I've thought all along, why do posters on this thread have so much faith in HMRC? Wouldn't put it past them at all to f**k up.

While I'm on the subject of pubs, anyone know how busy the Chapel Arms normally gets before games?

Planning on probably doing a pub crawl around there either pre or post match early season, something a bit different from our usual, will give them a go anyway. Yeah, though it would get more of a response, lack of pub/bars information/debate on here in general......

Pulis must have played more pre-season minutes than most of the supposed first choice? In fact he's probably played more this pre-season than his whole Saints career.

Exactly. Good luck to the chaps who are doing this, really hope it gets off the ground, just hope it doesn't turn out to be an alternative programme. The best fanzines were always full of terrace humour, stories from travelling to away games, pubs, a few rants etc. Would be great to have a "proper" Saints fanzine back on the streets, I know plenty that would buy one.

The lad is coming over from Sweden to support Saints. Either give him some decent, helpful advice or don't bother.

Will be interesting to see what the club do this year. The ticket office really got in the habit last season of releasing tickets for away games really late, I wouldn't be surprised if that trend is continued this season to ensure anyone out of town has to call up and pay the £3 booking fee for a lot of seperate away games.

I've watched a ffair bit of football in Germany and never seen beer or food brought to normal supporter's seats, wouldn't want that in the English game either. Having said that the Germans are very good at making it easy to buy a wide range of food and drink at their games and while I'd never expect a wide choice of beers at St Marys there must be scope for a bit of a wider/better quality choice?

Is there a lynch mob? I can't see that here. I know you don't like SRS or Dune, I can see how they might wind people up, but if you see past that, there is a genuine issue to be discussed here. It probably has been blown a bit out of proportion, but the reason I've posted so much on this thread is not the rights and wrongs of NI or even the rights or wrongs of him having his season ticket revoked, but the apparent excitement some Saints fans seem to show at the chance to show their "who cares" "sod him" "doesn't effect me" attitude.

As it stands, he hasn't been banned, but in effect had his season ticket revoked, with pretty much no communication from the club as to why. Is that not sufficient reason to challenge the club's attitude to fans, especially if seen as part of a general trend across the last few months of a lack of communication from the club towards supporters? You don't see any issue there at all? Hopefully it will all be resolved amicably, but personally I think something isn't right at the club in this regard.

I wouldn't say I don't support him, as I've posted on this thread I think Cortese is doing a very good job in lots of areas. There is much more to supporting a football club than just whether we win every game week in, week out or how much money we do or don't make.

So not announcing the removal of the installment plan until just before season tickets go on sale? Revoking the season ticket of a fan who challenged club decisions? Not announcing pre-season plans until very short-notice? No announcement regarding the Ted bates trophy? £3 booking fee for tickets. You class this as good communication with fans? I'd hate to see what you think bad communication is! Can you not at least see there is a bit of a trend there, even if you do think some of what is listed above are good decisions? I think Cortese is doing a very good job in other areas and will most likely make us a success on the pitch, I would certainly not class myself as "anti-Cortese", which makes it even more frustrating that he appears to see match going supports as an irritant, only good for extracting as much cash as possible. That might seem fine to many now that we're looking a decent bet in league One, but that attitude will come back to bite us all sooner or later.

Strange line up from Saints, with a lot of reserves/youth level players, with a handful of first teamers in the mix. Some competent performances, but no-one stood out. Carter looked decent and would be ideal as cover for Schneiderlin/Hammond. Still think we're really going to struggle to break teams down this year, especially if Lallana isn't playing and we do lack pace going forward. Ref was a bit rubbish as well. Very good Bacon Buttys though.
