Who is not "understanding" and "respecting" it? Don't really see the problem with people saying they think the game should have still gone ahead, we're not going to challenge the decision and turn up at the MK Bowl on Saturday at 3pm demanding to see a game.....
-
Bit different between one of your close team mates and an old, foreign owner though mate?
-
Just playing devil's advocate a bit, one could question how close any of the players of team management were to ML? I am sure they are guttted as we all are, but I'm not sure how seriously it would have effected a team of modern professionals. Also, why is calling the game off actually a "mark of respect"? What is "respectful" about calling the game off? Surely 4k+ of Saints fans at an away game giving ML a proper send off and the side playing their absolute guts out would do that more? Also, it always raises the question, who else's death would/should merit the postponement of the game? As I say, just playing devil's advocate a bit. If those that are ITK at the club feel it is appropriate in this instance than so be it, its not really a case of "supporting" the decision or not, it is what it is, looking forward to the Orient game now.

I'm not sure why anyone on here should "grieve" or be "in mourning", only applies to close friends and family surely? I'm gutted that ML has died, seemed like a proper sound gent, we've got loads to thank him for and 62 is no age really these days, but just keep a touch of perspective if we can?

What, so the game was called off so that Saints fans could "properly" pay their respects at SMS? That is nothing to do with it. And further more, there is nothing stopping Saints fans doing that at MK Dons. Secondly, the complex admin/probate issues that you correctly alluded to would in NO WAY be effected by a run of the mill League One away game 3 days after his death!

Hate to say it, but got to agree with you on all of that.
-
Personally don't agree with the game being postponed, I think it should have gone ahead, bit of an over the top reaction. Just depends I guess on how close Pardew and the team felt to ML?
-
A few inappropriate comments? There are f****g loads! Sums them up better than any of us ever could.
-
How is this thread stopping that happening? I doubt they're on here reading the forum right now.

I hope in many ways this is a spur to unite the club again, and inspire the team and supporters. In many ways it will be the same as all his other businesses, they will continue to run the same way as they had before. The only issue with us, is how much of it was an "investment" and how much of it was a personal "hobby of ML's? We'll never know exactly. But if there is a 5 year business plan, then I don't see any reason why that won't still be carried out. If we were to be sold, I think our current state would attract enough buyers for us to still be comfortable, ML has left us in a great position with a successful future ahead of us. I don't think there is to much speculating any further as its almost impossible for anyone to have much an idea what will happen. Definitely agree with a proper, fitting memorial (something like naming the ground) after him. RIP Markus Liebherr.

Got to sell out MK Dons and Orient at home as a minimum. Give him a proper send off in thanks of all he has done for our club. If 50k+ can be bothered to turn up at Wembley on the back of ML's intervention, then I think its the least we can do.

There was a massive, pretty much non-moving queue for beer in the Northam at half-time last night. Rubbish.
-
Not a huge fan of The Sun, but can't really argue with their approach on this.
-
Went downstairs in the Northam minute or two before the end of the first half to find an already massive queue for beer/cider, which hardly moved for the whole course of the half-time. We challenged the lad serving as to why only one of them was serving, while the others stood around idly at the food points and his response was he was the only one over 18 and able to serve alcohol. Its a joke. While Cortese and co are trying to rinse every penny out of supporters in certain areas, there are plenty of us mugs more than happy to hand over our hard earned for beers and pies in the ground and are unable to do so due to the sheer inefficiency and bad management of something that really should be fairly basic.

With Wotton running rings around Fabregas?
-
Thought they were massively quiet considering they had 4k+ there, massive game for them etc....
-
They've got the usual full cup allocation of 4k+, which takes over block 42 from saints fans.

Anyone used this site for info? http://www.footballandrealaleguide.co.uk/ Any good info?

Kind of agree with that, they'd have loved being a "martyr" and becoming some sort of "peoples club", hopefully they'll now rot for years, rather than being able to rise from the ashes as a new "phoenix" type club.
-
Said it all along, why were so many on here confident at the HMRC's legal ability? Not unlike a big, public, bureaucratic organisation to stuff up something like this. Hopefully we'll hear a bit less from the "experts" on here and fingers crossed for many more years of suffering for the blue few.

Ha, yeah thanks for that! Take it the London doesn't become a "normal" pub on match days?
-
Anyone know what time the King Alfred is open this Saturday?
-
Cheers. The Grapes reopened and running ok now? Think it was closed/had problems not too long ago?
