  1. Yep, always found Hillsborough one of the better northern dumps that we have to visit.
  2. Yeah, I know the tram is an option, just want to see about taxi options, as might be easier for us.
  3. Any of the Saints fans on here that live in Sheffield know how much a cab/people carrier would cost from the City centre up to Hillsborough?
  4. I don't think the Northam are "amazing" at all, but they contribute far more to the atmosphere at St Mary's than any other part of the ground, by a long, long way.
  5. Yes the Northam isn't anywhere near as good as it was when St MArys first opend and yes there are plenty of idiots that go in there, but surely the question should be why is the rest of the ground completley dead, silent and generally unanimated? There are blocks after blocks of seats full of fans who appear half-asleep. Also, while I agree the Northam isn't great and has more than its fair share of retards, how many grounds in Leagues One or the Championship have a better "end"? Not really that many that I can think of.
  6. Thought we looked decent first half at MK Dons on Weds night and don't think we looked too bad on Saturday either. A goal or two and a win and I think we'll go on a run. Yes we miss Lallana and yes we miss the pace and "Plan B" that Waigo and Antonio brought us, but we're still a good side, the same side that tore apart plenty of sides in this league last season, we're just lacking the confidence and momentum that a few goals and wins will bring. Keep the faith.
  7. While I agree that SISA etc don't speak for me and I certainly don't agree with everything they say, if a media outlet want the opinion of a fan/fans, who else or where else can they go to?
  8. So we're in the Upper tier and not the lower?
  9. I've got no insider knowledge on this, but I've said to everyone I go to games with that I reckon a club in a higher division bid for Lambert in the summer and he's not happy about not being given the chance. There can be no doubt that clubs further up the leagues would have been interested given his goal scoring record and I reckon a fair few clubs would have been able to match his wages. Lambert isn't getting any younger and has never had the chance to play in the top two divisions, that must be playing on his mind and his heart definitely doesn't look in it this year.
  10. We were the better team in the first half and looked decent without being great, if we'd scored I'm confident we'd have gone on to win and it would have kick started our season. 2nd half MK Dons came out a lot stronger and our confidence drained away. Certain players clearly lack confidence or focus and are just generally not tuned in, Lambert certainly isn't the player he was last season and I don't think it is a fitness issue.
  11. I never get the whole underpaid/overpaid argument. Ultimately, in the majority of cases, market forces will determine that every individual is paid the correct amount for their work.
  12. The Irish and UK economies are very, very different. Their economy was hugely over-inflated over the last 10 years and have had a property crash far worse than what has happened here.
  13. They're only words, but I think that statement is spot on. He's mentioned one of the things we lack most, pace going forward and the ability to create space in the final third. Looking forward to tomorrow's game now.
  14. Was on the p**s in Brighton before our League Cup game at the Withdean. Didn't pay too much attention to it at all until I turned on the news the next morning and it really sunk in. Can't believe it was 9 years ago!
  15. Exactly. it's worded in a way that actually tells us very little at all.
  16. Spot on advice there. No way could you do al those cities in 5 days, just pick one or two of them, Berlin and Hamburg are excellent, probably about £25/30 on the train I think between the two.
  17. Think its a really good appointment, who knows if we could have got better, but we certainly could have got worse. Not the smoothest piece of recruitment by Cortese and Adkins certainly has a job on his hands getting that squad playing like they can, but I'm certainly positive.
  18. Lawerence and kitson would do a good job for any Championship team, two good signings for them IF they can get the best out of them. Fingers crossed Ipswich continue their good start to the season down there tomorrow.
  19. I've had various emails from mates who support other clubs taking the p**s over this. I don't mind as I enjoy the banter, but they all think its Saints that look utterly stupid so far.
  20. Of course the Scunny chairmen is playing a game. He's doing it very well. Pity the same can't currently be said of our Chairmen.
  21. Yes I read it. I honestly think it's a load of back-peddling cr@p they've rushed out as quickly as possible to try and cover their @rses.
  22. Yep. I can't remember such a farcial recruitment of a new manager happening at any other club. Whether the Scunny manager knows ALL of the details or not, it is a mess. Or do you think its just bad that this has happened to us?
  23. Not really, that sounds like a clueless, back-peddling, @rse covering, quickly rushed out release to me, while the club know they've f****d up over this.
  24. The quotes from the Scunny chairman are more than enough for me. Even if Adkins does now join us, its under a messy, unprofessional, negative cloud. I am well aware that there are always plenty of games played by all sides in this kind of negotiation and those involved need to be a bit ruthless to a certain extent, but whatever happens Cortese and Saints have been left looking stupid out of this. Its all good and well saying one needs to be a bit hard-nosed etc, but they'll come a time when Cortese's approach will put off people doing business with him to the detriment of Southampton FC. The only good thing Cortese has done is bring in a load of cash to the club. Its obviously a big thing, but if it wasn't for that he'd be an absolute failure on a par with Lowe, but with less understanding of the nuances involved in operating within English football.
  25. I'm afraid you're well and truly bonkers!
