  1. Hooters is the most over-rated "pub/bar" in the world FACT.
  2. Yes, I'm pretty sure that's what it says. It's a great deal to be fair.
  3. Cheers chaps, not too sure how I missed those two points, always struggled with basic reading and writing.
  4. Oh and just one more question, my reading of it is that it is one additional ticket at £7.50 per season ticket holder per game, we can't buy more than that per season ticket?
  5. It doesn't say in the article, but I assume these deals will be available for people who walk up to the ticket office on the day of the game and pay on the day and not just booked in advance?
  6. Really excellent deal that, £7.50 is an absolute bargain.
  7. Reckon this has got the makings of a good turn out, decent ground, plenty of good places to drink, reckon we'll have one of our bigger away supports at this game.
  8. It is possible to get back, but a fair bit of hassle with lots of changes. Making a few days of it instead. Was a good trip last time, wonder how many will make it up this year.
  9. You must have had a really s**t day on Saturday, gutted for you fella, aint fun when the biggest game/day out in your life-time turns out that bad is it? Keep your head up and keep cheering on those mighty Cherries!
  10. I've criticised Cortese for plenty of stuff in the past, but I think fair play for him for doing this, shows some principles, if the Bournemouth chairmen has basically lied and taken the p**s, then why have anything to do with him.
  11. Any recommended pubs?
  12. Yet another pointless, over-emotional, attention seeking thread, exactly what this forum needs!
  13. If you're quoting me, you'll see that I'm not having a go at the Northam at all really.
  14. Well as I stated earlier in the thread I suggested Swindon as being good, and agreed with another poster about Boundary Park being decent. Can't remember Huddersfield being at all loud, but maybe that's just my memory. Pretty much everywhere else we went last year was rubbish and that's taking into consideration that we were a relatively big game for a lot of teams. As you say, there are loads of grounds much worse than St Marys. Spurs are very good these days, but were absolutely silent at home throughout the 90s. The Den is decent when they get going, but completley silent for large parts of the game. Like I say, I agree there are plenty of mongs in the Northam and it's far from what it was, but considering our club is at its lowest point for 40+ years I think the support has remained a lot better than other clubs in similar circumstances.
  15. A definite good winter weekend break abroad would be Naples. Really lively, interesting city, great football to go and watch and Pompei etc a short journey away, plus not too cold at any time and not too touristy as a city, unlike a lot of the obvious choices.
  16. Could very well have just been my take on it, but I found Barcelona the most over-rated city I've ever been to. Everyone raves about it, but while there was not much that was particularly bad about it, I really can't see what make it stand out from loads of similar southern European cities.
  17. Istanbul is a fantastic city and would make a great long weekend away, especially now the weather is cooling down a bit over there, would highly recommend.
  18. Yeah good shout on Oldham to be fair, the lot they had to our right were a bit lively and I'd agree with Swansea being half decent, wouldn't say either were much better than the Northam though. And not many other decent ones out there is there?
  19. My thoughts exactly. What an ungrateful attitude to those who buy tickets, sponsor competitions etc if someone just turns their nose up in public to the prize money like that. His great talent is wasted on him unfortunately.
  20. Sorry mate, but it was good, better than most other places we've been the last few years, had a proper end behind the goal that kept going most of the match and the whole ground joined in a fair few times. Yes, they seem to think of us as a "big game" for whatever reason and had a good crowd compared to their usual standards, but yeah, without doubt Swindon are one of the better supports we've seen.
  21. My post was in reply to another post. Where have you been that you think has a consistently better atmosphere than the Northam? And before you say anything, I know the Northam is far from brilliant these days. So lets hear where these great places are? I'd say Swindon's home support was good when we went there.
  22. Agree the Reeperbahn has plenty of "normal bars, pubs and clubs, great night out. Don't agree with your comments on Milan though. Never found Italy any good for going out and drinking etc.
  23. Get cheap flight with Buzz Air to one of the former "Eastern Bloc" countries. Try Krakow or Poznan in Poland or somewhere like Kiev or Zagreb, cheap beer, stunning local women and take in a game of football.
  24. Cheers chaps, think that will suit us lazy gits down to the ground!
  25. Out of interest mate, which other grounds do you think have had a better atmosphere than the Northam? I can only think of maybe one or two.
