  1. The vast majority of St Marys has good views. Yes maybe the centre of the Kingsland has the best views, but the rest of our support seems happy watching games from all over the ground. Anyone who only goes to a game if they are guaranteed the best vies in the ground aren't really Saints fans. Imagine if everyone took that attitude, we'd only have 4 or 5k at each game! Sounds more like yet another excuse for not bothering with the less glamorous games I'm afraid.
  2. No, these are the 20,000 odd seats that are happily filled by normal Saints fan on a regular basis. I do laugh at this elite group of people that will only be happy watching Saints if they have these seats to sit in when tens of thousands of Saints fans have been turning up and getting behind the side while sat all over the ground. I think I'm being polite when I call this a bit "strange". What a bunch of mugs the rest of us have been all these years, doing ridiculous things like sitting in block 5 of the Itchen to watch a game, how have we ever been able to enjoy the match I don't know.....
  3. If you can be bothered to read, you will see I stated "I know a lot of good Saints fans that do just sit there quietly, but yes as a general rule...."
  4. Well, its a different debate than the one on this thread and I know a lot of good Saints fans that do just sit there quietly, but yes as a general rule, I've got a lot more time for fans that make an effort to actually get behind the side, rather than just sitting there half asleep.
  5. My thoughts exactly. He's got a fair bit of talent, but really hasn't done much with it at all this season and even blew hot and cold for a fair bit of last season.
  6. What poor service? 90% of Saints fan seem happy enough watching Saints from seats that aren't considered the "best seats in the house", what exactly is so special about these people? Anyone who takes the attitude of "The Kingsland has a high proportion of long-term ST holders and the majority of them are not interested unless they can sit in or near their usual seats. They will not accept an inferior view of the game" aren't really Saints fans in my opinion. Probably no coincidence that this is also the quietest part of the ground either.
  7. Yep, that's pretty much what I'm saying, I think that's clear.
  8. I don't think so, I've sat there and the views been ok, even if they were classed as a "bad" view, you're looking at a handful of seats in a 32k capacity stadium.
  9. There are no "bad" views at St Marys, yes some are better than others, but none of seats offer anything like what could be considered a bad view.
  10. Anyone who thinks like that isn't really a Saints fan to be honest.
  11. Saints team nipped into the Wetherspoons in Carlisle town centre earlier this evening, strange build up for a game, guess team building and all that.....
  12. Don't let that stop you chipping in anyway!
  13. Not sure about tv games - surely they've got to announce them in the next day or two, therefore they won't know the outcome of any replays?
  14. Or Tamworth or Dover please, any of those away would do. Definitely don't want FCUM or whatever the f**k they're called.

  16. Agreed - the empty seats never look great, but when you compare with others in a similar situation, the crowd wasn't too bad at all. Didn't look like Shrewsbury had that many, thought they would have brought 1.5/2k down.

  18. Chelmsford City away is my first choice.

  20. I'm sure they were p*****d off afterwards, but did they really do much of merit? Thought they were fairly solid at the back, but showed very little adventure against a poor Saints team that looked there for the taking at times - I think they were playing for the replay and so serves them right for not getting anything. Plus I thought their fans were rubbish - made a decent bit of noise at times, but poor numbers, spent far too much time singing stuff like "Championship and you f****d it up" which thankfully didn't get a reaction.

  22. Thing is you're missing the point. No one is saying you're not a "proper" fan if you don't go to every game, there are a million and one good reasons not to make it to a match. What they do get p****d off about is fans posting on this board about "not being @rsed" to go to a "nothing game", can't imagine ever describing a Saints game like that myself, but each to their own.
  23. I was agreeing with you
  24. I'm also glad you're not going.
