  1. Right, let me explain this very carefully to you. Criticising the directors/management of a football club is not "being against the club". It is wanting the club to do well and believing that those making decisions for the club are making mistakes or have motives that are not in the interest of the club. The "management" is not the club. The "board of directors" or CEO" is not the club.
  2. F**ks sake, please don't tell me there would be any debate in any pub in Southampton as to which game will be shown?
  3. Might book the sleeper down on the Friday night mate, ha!
  4. It was debated at the start of the season, the IFO have just released their verdict now. I'd never even heard of them before today, but looking at other cases on their site, they seem to take close to a year for a lot of their stuff, like a lot of these sort of bodies/cases, not the quickest in the world.
  5. Yep, that's what he's saying. What a fantastic attitude to have.
  6. I know loads of Saints fans, all different types, from many different backgrounds, I also know plenty of fans from many other clubs. I have never heard of someone being refused a season ticket, but still being allowed to attend games. Either he has done something genuinely wrong, in which case ban him or this is just Cortese throwing his toys out of his pram and being stubborn towards a fan that has dared challenge him. Can I just confirm from your post that you think it is acceptable for the club to refuse someone a season ticket on the basis of "His negative remarks about the owners when they came in" or "His previous comments about the old regime and how he supported them." or "His comments in the press about the payment plans i.e lack of them." Its not the way I want my football club run. It is petty and vindictive and yet ago shows a huge disregard for the loyal fans of this club.
  7. Not seen any reasons stated that I would consider fair for such treatment, could you point them out just for my benefit? If he'd done something genuinely serious, he'd have been properly banned by the club. This is just stubborn pettiness from the club yet again.
  8. Exactly. The Echo etc would just cut that bit out of his quote. Anyone with even the smallest amount of brain power knows how many people a single fan speaks on behalf of? Do you think people see Nick's quotes and think "ah, he must have done a full, detailed referendum of every single Saints fan in the world and what he is saying now are the exact results of the vote?" Of course they don't. Everyone knows how it works and it applies to pretty much every club in the land. We're no different, only in that we've got more bitter, petty fans who would rather snipe from a distance at others. As I've said before, this thread shouldn't be about Nick anyway, its about a fan who has been refused the sale of a season ticket and not been given any explanation for the reasons behind the decision and its as simple as that. It is another example of Cortese's pettiness a very worrying trend throughout his tenure so far.
  9. Wes - Help us out here. What are the likely reasons that would make this a fair decision? I'm struggling to think of any. The fact that the club refuse to give a reason speaks volumes.
  10. Some of the info is a bit out of date on here, but I tend to have a look at this site before away trips, found the info to be useful throughout the season http://www.footballandrealaleguide.co.uk/
  11. Really? Surely a well known fan, who everyone acknowledges has travelled home and away for 30+ years following Saints and has instigated and supported various things for the benefit of fans is a better person to comment on Saints to the media, then a completely random individual that just happens to be hanging around the ground at the time the media decide to send their team down there? Also, this thread isn't meant to be about bickering on what you think of Nick and/or him being used by the media for comments on Saints issues, its about the mis-treatment of a loyal Saints fan. If you have a particular solution or debate regarding Saints fans in the media, then start up a separate thread, as that is a completely different issue.
  12. Has that been confirmed yet? Been chasing Plymouth for a while for confirmation as to what is going on with that game with no joy. Need to sort trains etc
  13. I reckon we'll still have quite a few up there, 1k+, later kick off and being on tv will always put a few people off. Pity this isn't last away game of the season or something, that would be class!
  14. My thoughts exactly. Sums up so many of our fans and so many of the people on here. I hope they never end up in a situation whereby the support and assistance of other fans would be of use. As long as they're alright, sod everyone else. I have never heard of any club doing this before and there have been FAR worse campaigns against various club owners than anything NI may or may not have done "against" NC's regime.
  15. While agree that the Northam for some songs sing too quickly, this isn't the readon there is poor atmosphere from other parts of the ground. The reason is that too many aren't @rsed to get involved and get behind the team. Plenty of people around me like that on Saturday, even in the Itchen North.
  16. Yes and no. Yeah their support is loud and has plenty of good songs, but it helps that they can do pretty much do what they want due to the attitude of the police and stewards towards them. Also, they do have more absolute knobs following them than any other club, they seem more interested in winding up the supporters of a league one team that they've just scraped through against than anything else. Our support was too quiet on Saturday. I was in the Itchen North and there were loads of people who weren't interested in getting behind the side. It's said quite often that the fans did their bit, but the players didn't, well on Saturday I thought the opposite was true.
  17. Tickets weren't £50. Yes if we had a 28k ground and sold it out it wouldn't be an embarrassment. We've got a ground that we've sold out many times before, I wouldn't use the phrase 'embarrassment', more a 'pity' that it hasn't sold out.
  18. How many other clubs do you think wouldn't sell out an FA Cup 4th round home game against Man Utd?
  19. Because what we all may or may not think of this game, there are very few other clubs in this country that wouldn't sell out at home to Man Utd in the FA Cup 4th round.
  20. They did. Just very badly communicated by the ticket office yet again.
  21. No it's not. It has been fine for the last few home games with a similar service. Yes there will be a fair few more fans, but they'll also probably be spread over a longer period of time travelling to and from the game.
  22. Message sent. Let me know if you don't get it.
  23. We booked up a while ago, cheap deals were available from London. Probably a bit late though, but worth a look. Use the Virgin Trains website and look to go to Manc Piccaddily, as Rochdale itself didn't come up with much (only £3.30 on the day extra from Manc to Rochdale). Also worth bearing in mind it is FA Cup 5th round that weekend............................
  24. Members of the media being utter c**ts shocker.
  25. Bit typical of our ticket office these days I'm afraid, they seem to be making a habit of f*****g up on these sort of things.
