I've loved Legue One, just about the right level of football for me. I'm not a huge fan of the championship, think its a s**t version of the Prem, so I wouldn't mind another promotion soonish....

Friday Guardian article "Nigel Adkins puts celebrations on hold....."
Sour Mash replied to BTW Saint's topic in The Saints
Good article. But the team were definitely out celebrating on Monday night, as was Adkins, don't blame them either! -
Or add West Ham, Wolves and Blackburn and it looks stronger? Hard to really call it either way. And re. the original post, Leeds at 22s has got to be worth a fiver.............

Like this season?

How many Saints games have you been to this season?
Sour Mash replied to The Cat's topic in The Saints
Not really. Wouldn't mind doing the 92, but you've got no chance doing it just with Saints (or would need a brilliantly lucky run of cup draws). -
Why are you telling me to f**k off, you little dweeb. I'm not buying or selling tickets on here and as I posted earlier, if I was selling it'd be at face value. The point being, is that if I was desperate for a ticket and knew that the only way I could get one was paying people extra, I'd be p*****d off if that opportunity was taken away from me on here.

Best and Worst away game all season
Sour Mash replied to ladysaint's topic in Saints Away Supporters
Watford? It's a far better away day than Coventry. Have to agree with Cov being dire. To be fair there are a fair few sh**e trips in the Championship. -
All true, but it I reeally wanted a ticket for Saturday, I'd be p***ed off at you kicking up this fuss. There are probably a fair few people who are happy to pay a bit extra as long as it gives them a chance of getting a ticket, as oppossed to possibly nothig, which is what you are suggesting.

The refusal to sell a season ticket at Southampton FC
Sour Mash replied to lenwilkins's topic in The Saints
But he's got a point. I think the flag is a good idea, but it's important that those organising it put plenty of thought into how it's going to be used so it has the maximum lasting effect. -
Er, I'm not moaning about it. I haven't said loads of times I'm not going, I might still do. My point is in support of people going, it would be a shame if some missed out while there are empty seats in the ground. Not everyone gets stupidly over-excited by something just because it's free. You've never posted anything worthwhile or serious on here, so I'm not sure why I'm responding to you, but its a bit late now......

Good. So we're all agreed that a pitch invasion followed by the players doing a lap of honour is the way forward. Looking forward to it now.

On a serious note, the reason why some may have been critical throughout the season is the level of expectations, partly based on the resources available. We should be comfortably beating Dagenham/Walsall/Tranmere/Hartlepool etc, same way Man Utd should hammer Wigan, it's not unusal for football fans to get frustrated when that doesn't happen.

Bore off you cretin. You spend far too much time on a website discussing a football team that you never see play to be normal. -
The problem with it being free is that people will pick up a load of tickets just in case they and their mates fancy it, then if come Sunday they don't they will just leave the tickets unused, bit like the under 8s season tickets. Should have charged a small amount just to put people off enough for doing stuff like that. Could well be "sold out", but then have plenty of space around the gorund on the day. Hopefully that won't be the case.

All the other teams in the division are sh*te. HTH and all that..........

Done all home and away, league and cup, apart from Swindon (h) in JPT and Bolton at home in the League Cup. Know a fair few who've done them all. With all the games called off and moved this season its been a real effort for anyone to manage all the aways. -
Is Cortese deliberately trying to annoy the fans.
Sour Mash replied to landford.saint's topic in The Saints
Surely you should spend less time on here and more time actually going to games? For what its worth, I still have many of the same reservations about NC that I did back then, scraping promotion out of the third division won't change that. Fingers crossed he's learnt his lesson from a lot of the errors from a year/9months ago, will be interesting to see how Season tickets etc are handled this pre-season. -
As you're an expert, why don't you tell us? I have no doubt that Cortese is ambitious. However, the more I think of it the risk vs reward for ground expansion just doesn't add up. We will more likely do what pretty much every other club that regularly sells out will do and just keep prices at their optimum, maximising income and no real risk.
-
I agree, but on the basis that there aren't a load of spare tickets just floating about, someone somewhere is going to have to be put out for extras to become available. Personally I'd always sell at face value if I had a spare, but with demand how it is, it would be naive not to expect prices to reflect that.
-
Exactly. The real big games were Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford Plymouth away etc, this Saturday should just be a bit of a laugh. Also, those moaning about others "touting", keep in mind that by them selling you the ticket, someone else could be going without and missing the game or they may have had to make a fair bit of effort to source a ticket from elsewhere, a few quid on top as compensation for that isn't really worth moaning about if you really want a ticket.
-
What will this flag look like? When/how often/where will it be used?
-
Yeah I think you're right re the Sunderland and Wolves "expansions". Think most clubs prefer the business model of if they're selling out, hike up the price as high as it'll go rather than bothering with any risk/cost/hassle of an expansion scheme.
-
Yes, I am well aware of that, hence we were "doing well" then. Same way we would be doing well to get 30k on a regular basis for such games again. Personally I can't see us getting anywhere near 45k for such games, but we're speculating about something so far off in the future, its impossible for anyone to really know. Out of interest, which clubs have made significant changes to an already "finished"/fully contructed grounds in order to increase capacity? Can't think of too many? I know Wolves have sort of filled in one of their corners, can't think of too many others.
-
Exactly. Would be doing well to sell 30k for those games. Our support has been good this season, but let's not get too carried away.
