I'm an Udders fan with Southampton connections and a soft spot for you lot. I think you should be reasonably content with a point at London Road even though the Posh came from behind twice. When we were there we sailed into a two goal lead and looked very comfortable for a while, but in the end we lost 4-2. Oldham went 2 up and lost 5-2 if memory serves me correctly. They came back 3 times against Wednesday, won 5-3 and they just never know when they are beaten. I thought both teams participated in a great game of football yesterday which did the division proud in front of the cameras and I for one celebrate that fact. Some people say this division is dire, but for the last few seasons we have had some outstanding individuals and teams that frequently make teams in divisions above us look ordinary to say the least. Norwich, Leeds and Millwall have more than held their own in the division above and quite a few of the teams in the top 6 now would do the same.
This season is one of the most exciting I can remember because the division is so close. Dropping points seems like the end of the world until you make that lost ground back up again. I think Brighton are unstoppable to be honest even though we won our only game so far against them. That means that the rest of us are scrapping for the second spot IMO and both Udders and Saints will suffer bad and indifferent days before the season is laid to rest, but hopefully there should be more highs than lows as the race for second ebbs and flows.
Well done Saints on your contribution to a great game last night.
