It's sarcasm. Gallagher will still be loaned out.

This is a pretty good thread, once you get past the silly opening post. Finishing 8th and a cup final was decent. (There were 3 points separating 8th and 14th, but we still made 8th.) The board clearly are looking to improve based on what we were being served at home for the final third of the season. In hindsight they made the wrong decision in appointing Pellegrino but not necessarily in sacking Claude. No one can say for sure what situation Puel would have had us in though. He might have achieved midtable again. He might have ironed things out during the summer - strengthened how he wanted, ditched his dour tactics, won the confidence back of some of the players, etc, but no one can be certain based on his early achievements at a different club, a team who won the league two seasons ago. IMO Puel wasn't showing the signs that he would be able to adjust and push us forward. But as others have pointed out, the board might do well to learn the lesson, that finishing midtable should not be punished. Time will tell on how the board react from here on.

Yeah I miss all those 4-1 away wins last season. What were the board thinking.....crazy mofos

Anyone planning a sleepover in London?

Piers didn't have a problem with Trump's stance on Muslims here... Jim Jefferies making him look a ***t was great TV.
-
Thats Ok whatever, but he's still a c#nt. Can we not get him in as next manager please.
-
Don't laugh, he might come here.

Although I can't sit through a game as a neutral watching two teams that mean absolutely nothing to me, I enjoy watching Green Bay Packers with my son who's a diehard fan, especially when it's a close game...as was the game away to the Cowboys last Sunday. Took me years to attempt to see what it was all about, since it is so far removed from proper football....it looked dire! Agree that it is a perfect TV spectacle (unless you have seats costing hundreds of dollars in the stadium). Was at a game in nosebleed seats a couple of years ago (Cardinals vs Packers in AZ) and whilst the atmos was great, couldn't really appreciate what was going on pitchside.

Rui Fonte for Fulham!

Ted's Twitter feed history is really cringeworthy. He really is a turd. Ah, yes. I think it was more..."well it won't be that bad will it, we'll get plenty of LOLs along the way". Yeah........right. I had certainly preferred him to win the primary. Him or Ted Cruz as president. I think I would have been vomiting more if the latter had won TBH.
-
Thanks for that Ted, you should become a songwriter. Time to realize what the flag stands for instead of blindly worshipping it and complying. This clearly isn't a protest against the armed forces anyway....FFS! The president telling people what to do and think...AGAIN. Distract and deflect, rinse and repeat.

Ah you see you didn't whisper enough encouragement while she was in utero. I did, and he popped out on mine. Enjoy and good luck.

No, not at all. I had emailed them when the season started to tell them that this whole app thing was a bad idea. Maybe they made a note of it. The email I got on 24th Sept -

Got an email the other day from NBC Gold apologising for the recent shoddiness of their service. It was an invitation to log any grievances, which I did. Got a response offering $10.00 refund on the service (which I will take) or to cancel for a full refund. I'm not going to cancel but am surprised at them offering it so easily. Either they are serious about their pledge to make it a better experience or they are going to be half arsed about it with the attitude that "well, we did offer a full refund".... Let's see how it is for Stoke on Saturday.

Slash the price of beer and double the outlets in the concourse. (More toilets too). Install breathalyzers at turnstyles on entry. Anyone not over the limit can be funneled directly to the bar.

Actually, it might work but possibly not if both viewers are watching on the same medium (ie both logged in to a computer) I tried on two Roku devices simultaneously and it didn't work. But it was ok with Roku and laptop.
-
Quality was messy today and the stream kept stop/starting on my Roku. Ended up plugging my laptop into the TV and it was ok. All live matches on the Gold app (so far), have appeared as replays (about 30 mins after final whistle) with no spoilers in the way. (There were 4 today, Saints being one of them) If you ditch cable/sat then you ditch NBCSports (and the NBC regular app) which will feature Saints pretty much every time we play a top 5 team. Won't work. The app will only let one login device at a time. Crafty buggers! Which is why I wish they'd reinstate the Extra Time channels for people who have purchased the $50.00 subscription. We are now paying more for a service that has gone backwards.
-
Very short sighted on their part. Your thoughts are replicated by EVERY Premier League fan in the USA. To be able to catch every game you now need a cable/sat subscription and the online NBC Gold app subscription. The price increase was bound to happen sooner or later, and it's not that much extra but it's the way they've done it that ****es me off. Those extra time tv channels worked perfectly. Allowed you to set them up to record (if you want to lay in on the Saturday) and use your cable/sat equipment to view (love my Tivo interface) instead of a glitchy app with lesser quality. Replays go up at about 9:30 am PST, so that's not bad if you aren't up at 7. They should have kept the extra time channels as an alternate way of viewing the games. It wasn't broke at all, but they decided to fix it.

Oh, right on! Shame we didn't get Pompey in the cup. Mr Scuff's Fish would have been nice.

Dynamic looking player. A bit 'unorthodox' from his highlights reel...but should be a lot of fun to watch and will hopefully forge a great partnership with Romeu.
-
I thought it was him when I heard it. (Just as I knew it was Ed Sheerin on Game of Thrones when he started singing and spat my beer all over myself when he came onto camera) Dunkirk. Stunning.

Covenant didn't sit very well with me. Was gee'd up with my renewed appreciation of Prometheus only for this one to **** it all away. We see a remake of Alien unfolding (which is no bad thing) but then Aliens, Prometheus and Frankenstein crammed in there, a bit weakly. Nice to see an original alien and facehugger again but relied too heavily on iffy CGI and we saw too much of the main creature, so effectively subtle and genuinely terrifying in the original. Bit corny, in parts, silly and it felt rushed. It'll possibly satisfy me better when I see it again though...as Prometheus did. That aside, Ridley makes beautiful looking and pulsating films and his alien universe is still fantastic to explore.

Saw Trainspotting2 the other day and really liked it. Kept it in tune to the 1996 film effectively with well used flashbacks in vision and sound that was well balanced, not over the top, but just right. Watched Prometheus again too in anticipation for Covenant and it was better after a second viewing. It's not perfect but the moviemaking craftsmanship is second to none.
