  1. Got mine after the game last night, good to see they do unreserved seating, wish more clubs did that. They've only given us an initial allocation of 950, surely we'll get more later on. Wonder how many we'll get, consider their ground only holds 9,000.
  2. Looks like we'll be getting the 2pm train from Southampton central, gets into Southend East at 5:10pm.
  3. I sit at the back of the Northam but tend to restrain from banging the plastic, I have no rhythm!
  4. How did you managed to get train tickets £11 return? Will the ticket office be open after the game tomorrow? Hoping to get mine for Orient then.
  5. Away fans guide says: "After being closed for a while, the Golden Lion, that was previously popular with away fans has now re-opened. This pub is situated on the A127, just up from the car park entrance to the Main Stand. The nearby Spread Eagle pub is for home fans only, along with the Blue Boar that is a little further on up the road. A bit further away is the 'The Bell', a large Toby Carvery, which you pass on your way into Southend on the A127. David Wells informs me; 'There is the Bar Victoria Court, which is located further down the A127 from Roots Hall towards Southend. It is not a traditional football pub by any means but it is okay for pre-match pint'. The town centre is around a 20 minute walk away, where there are plenty of pubs including a Wetherspoons outlet (the Last Post on Clifftown Road). There are also a number of bars along the seafront, which can be quite nice on a a sunny Saturday afternoon. Any Walden adds; 'The Railway Tavern which is outside Prittlewell station is also used by away fans.' We're staying at the Premier Inn at Thorpe Bay, which is the other side of town.
  6. Anyone know of any cheap accomodation in Southend?
  7. They were a good set of fans, though at the time it was horrible waiting to get out off the Northam whilst they were celebrating their last minute goal.
  8. Got some mates in Chelmsford, which is nearby, so might go there for the night out instead.
  9. Wonder how many we'll get going to this one. A few of us are staying there and hitting the town afterwards, any one know what the night life is like there?
  10. Surely he'll have too much respect for us to go to Pompey.
  11. My bad, I agree with you about Giggs, my favourite Non Saints player of all time, glad to see he's still going strong.
  12. No doubt he's a very talented player, he certainly showed that yesterday, but he does seem to attract contraversy wherever he goes. There was the whole golf club incident with John Arne Riise at Liverpool and before that he was trouble at Newcastle. I imagine he would be a difficult character to manage.
  13. Bellamy is a gifted player, but just a very nasty human being. The best game I've watched in a long time, though some shocking defending from both sides. Giggs was amazing, how is he still going at his age?!?
  14. Looking forward to this one, will be getting the train up.
  15. Unbelievable drama, cracking game.
  16. I was sat in the Northam, wouldn't have given the 1st one, as for the second one I didn't even know why it was given at first, had to text my mate in the Itchen South to tell me it was handball. The standard of refereeing seems to be a lot poorer in this league, but we've benefitted today so I'm not complaining!
  17. Thats great news, thought it was really serious when it happened, just hope they don't rush it.
  18. Any news on when the demo is out Matthew Le God?
  19. Lets hope we can sign him, even with Rickie Lambert we're very short on firepower. Only Millwall have scored less goals than us in league one this season, Connelly gives us more options up front.
  20. I spoke to someone at the reserves game on Tuesday, he said he was just talking to Stuart Henderson who said it was "a matter of weeks rather months" before he would be back.
  21. I thought Euell was great in the second half of last season, all of a sudden he started playing with passion and commitment, arguably our best outfield performer last season. Shame we couldn't hold onto him after going into administration, wonder how much he is on at Blackpool.
  22. Brighton manager Russell Slade was spotted at the game last night, wonder if he was taking a look at any of our players, or he could've been looking at Swindon, they had a couple of first teamers out as well. Also spotted was Tony Pulis Senior, I'm guessing he was only there to watch his son though.
  23. Enjoyed the game last night, had a good chat with some of the players after. Papa was a legend, came over to us after the warm down to sign autographs and after some encouragement even did his tradmark dance! Spoke to Gillet as well, he sounded a bit frustrated that he wasn't getting many games for the first team. Also had a quick chat with Forecast, he's hoping to go out on loan again soon.
  24. Where abouts do you live then? I grew up 4 miles away from Hungerford in Kintbury.
  25. Don't mention Michael Ryan, still a very sensitive issue to the locals. I went to school with a bloke who should be making his debut for Swindon Reserves tonight, he's an arrogant t**t, so hopefully will get taken down a peg or two by Saints reserves tonight.
