  1. You are making an assumption as to who it is referring to, no mention on the banner of the man in question.
  2. Thanks Kingsland Red, glad it went down well, but afraid I can't take much of the credit, a few of us chipped in, I didn't really do much.
  3. It was a fire hazard apparently. To be honest I wasn't optimistic, but a lot of the stewards around seemed to like it and we kept it out for as long we could before one of the less impressed threatened us with eviction.
  4. Wouldn't count on it, he likes QPR, they would be in 7th place if Lawro got all his predictions throughout the season correct.
  5. Wasn't great today, but those who went to Anfield last month will agree that our home support in by no means the worst in the league.
  6. Some of my favourite phrases from Nige. Keep chipping away Control the controllables Hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard Listen...
  7. At Gillingham away a couple of years ago when it started raining someone in front of me put an empty chip bag on their head to protect themselves, didn't really work, just made them look a bit silly. I also vaguely recall a fight a few rows behind me in the Northam a few years ago, two blokes got into a verbal argument, one guy showed his disapproval of the other's opinion by urinating over him. Did this really happen?
  8. A few of us at the back of Block 42 have been trying to get that going for years, was a proud moment to get more than 5 of us singing it yesterday.

  10. Does anyone know what time the Great South Run in Pompey usually starts? It now clashes with the Spurs game, hope I can do it then get to St Marys for kick off, suppose it will give me that extra incentive to do it quicker.
  11. I hope the Spurs game isn't moved to the Sunday, though it seems likely with their involvement in the Europa League. I'm running the Great South Run that weekend, can only hope emergency services won't be able to cover both a likely sell out at St Marys and the Great South Run, so the game will be moved to Monday night.
  12. Hes a good friend of mine, launched the site late last year with just a few designs, really good to see it grow over the season, I see more and more of his shirts around the ground every time I go to St Marys. I think £17 is very reasonable, most of us are willing to pay more than double that for an official shirt and these shirts are unique and different to your usual Saints shirt.
  13. No matter how well England do this year nothing will compare to what we have all been a part of this year with Saints. After years of being let down by the national team I have no enthusiasm left for England and find it difficult to get behind some of the players in that team (quite obvious who), but I want Hodgson to do well before the "should've been Redknapp" brigade pipe up again. It would've been nice to see Kelvin get a call up, but as stated above it makes sense to give a youngster some tournament experience.
  14. I saw this and thought for a moment someone had changed their name by deed poll in order to try and appeal to Saints fans and get more votes, but he was proposed by another Lambert, so appears to be genuine.
  15. Port Vale?
  16. We've got Jos Hooiveld?
  17. This is how it feels to be Pompey This is how it feels to be small This is how it feels when your team won't exist any more (exist any more, exist any more, etc) I know this was suggested last time we played them and is blatant rip off of a Man United song, but their version is somewhat less relevant now, so no harm in stealing as our own.
  18. West Ham Brighton Birmingham Leeds
  19. Nice article, but I think Jos Hooiveld also deserves a mention. Nothing against Martin, but I thought we looked a bit dodgy in defence when Big Jos hasn't been playing. And his two goals against West Ham could prove to be vital come the end of the season.
  20. There were a small few of us singing this in the Northam on Saturday, been trying for a while, but struggling to get it going. He just needs to score a cracker at St Marys then there will be no stopping this song.
  21. Something simple like "We've got Jos Hooiveld".
  22. So does this confirm he was the unnamed player that was on £30,000 a week?
  23. Plymouth and Orient are the stand outs from my experience, but also enjoyed Southend away in 2009, Friday night game then on the town straight after.
  24. They couldn't even sing "that sh*tty Palace song" (anyone know what its actually called?) right, banging on the plastic at the back whilst singing just made it sound dreadful. The bubbles singing was so cringeworthy I moved to the front of the Northam at half time, definitely sitting in the Itchen next cup game.
