  1. I think the best tribute to the great man would be to sing his name throughout the Orient game and banish the negativity that Pardew was on about in his post match interview the other night. Let's be united in grief and united in tribute to get Saints promoted for Markus.
  2. http://www.kumb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=122037&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&sid=94bd063c960ea09b0095e364db6424e1&start=20 Read the first post on the page. I just hope it's true!
  3. Help! Having not been on here for a couple of weeks could someone tell me if there's been a general consensus about where the standing/singing section is? I haven't got the time to trawl through 6 pages of posts just to find the one snippet of info that I want! Cheers!
  4. Well pleased. Is he in the squad in time for today?
  5. Yes. WGS had a pretty good squad to work with whereas Pardew's had to inherit a load of crap players with a losing mentality and turn them into winners. Yes he's bought players in, but they've been wise investments and the fact that we're even talking about the play-offs, in the semi of a cup comp and in the last 16 of the Cup says it all.
  6. This will be a bloodbath. With Pompey in the **** and Saints having just emerged from it do you really expect our fans to keep a lid on it? Not saying I condone violence, just that it's going to happen, no matter what the police plan!
  7. Funny how people read a game. I didn't think Mills was great tbh. He was ok, but his distribution was average to poor and sometimes lost his positioning. Did grow into game though and didn't seem to need so much looking after by Perry in the second half as he had in the first. But to be fair to him, he's not had much of a sniff at first team football this season and I think his performance today reflected that a bit. He'll grow into a good LB and will challenge Harding for the rest of the season which gives us good competition in that area which we've needed.
  8. that's the excuse anyway. In keeping with the 'do it on the quiet' policy this club now has!
  9. Neil Danns? Elliot Ward? Hopefully he'll reveal all in a bit!
  10. They need to stop bleeting on about the Skates and get Pardew on!
  11. Are you sure? Without wanting to get technical, the last 'e' on his name doesn't have an accent suggesting that it's pronounced Font. Plus, Martin Tyler pronounces it Font on FIFA10, so it must be true
  12. Rudi Skacel
  13. Photoshop will do the trick...
  14. To be fair, I'm not really sure what the Echo did wrong given that news of the planned development had already been leaked to the national press. But I'm sure Cortese had a reason, beyond just being petty.
  15. This one's got to be a sell-out. Surely any seats left unsold will go to their fans who have been shovelling snow of the pitch to get it ready.
  16. Jeez, get over yourself will you! You make it sound like you're being victimised. With these offers every season ticket holder stands to lose out a little bit. It's not like it happens every game. I'd rather have these offers run to get the stadium full than to watch the team playing in front of a half-empty ground. And anyway, just be grateful you've got a club to support at all.
  17. Our academy was among the best in the game not so long ago, so it's no surprise to see that we've generated more home-grown talent that Pompey. Long may that continue, and here's to our academy producing fantastic talent in the years to come, talent we don't have to sell or put in the first-team far too early!
  18. Realistically, we should beat Exeter even with a couple of our 'star' players missing. As long as we match them for endeavour we'll be ok. We have more quality than them in every department, it's just the work-rate that will be an issue. Backed by a 30,000 strong crowd, work-rate ought to be no trouble. In terms of the team, I think Wotton could do a job in place of Hammond...he'd be up for it too being a Devonian. Trotman and Thomas for Jaidi and Perry...don't think the latter 2 can cope with 2 games in 2 days. It depends what Pardew has in mind as a starting 11 for Colchester. IMO he has to start there and work backwards (i.e. decide which team will play Colchester and then from that, decide which players would be ok to play 2 games in 48 hours). I know there's the cliche of 'never look further ahead than the next game' but that goes out of the window when playing twice in such a short space of time.
  19. And still it'll be silent...
  20. Assuming the Colchester game goes ahead, do you think it's worth resting the likes of Connolly, Hammond etc. on Boxing Day? I'd prefer them fresh for the Colchester game which is a biggy against a play-off rival, only 48 hrs after Exeter. That said, wouldn't want to come unstuck against Exeter if we left some regulars out...
  21. Agree with this totally, it's so refreshing to know that what we see week in week out at SMS is what the manager sees. I can't remember that ever happening under Burley, Poortvliet or Wotte. Pardew tells it like it is, he doesn't gloss over the cracks and seems to know exactly what's needed.
  22. Looks pretty handy, the sort of skilful player that could fit very nicely into our side. Question is would he swap sunshine and 40 degrees in QLD for the dreary, cold winter of Southampton in January?!
  23. Did Primus come through the ranks. Even though he's a filthy skate, he was a pretty good player before he retired last month...
  24. To be fair, the stewards I have come into contact with do check the front of my ST to make sure I'm in the right place. I just try to go to those that know me these days. Might be best to get it changed to avoid hassle...and 3 Saints goals in the first 10mins lol!
