  1. Think that 45 second goal was against Southend in 3rd round FA Cup game if I recall correctly?
  2. Great result, clean sheet too!
  3. I've finally found one from a Villa fan who wasn't quite so bitter about their defeat.... they're not all bad! http://www.avfcforums.com/topic/13731-match-thread-southampton-4-1-aston-villa-ft/page__st__120 Isn't this the same southampton side that nearly beat united and city? why is everyone talking about them as if they are trash we should have steam rolled. Maybe this is the same attitude our players had and why we lost. They have a poor defense but they have been banging in goals against everyone, balls deep attacking. We should have expected this, and we didn't handle it apparently.
  4. Cant believe i forgot to mention Blizzards Starcraft and Broodwar on PC, both getting on now but still as playable and enjoyable as the day they were released and still play them both now. Got a new PC recently so will now be able to run Starcraft 2. Would love to have seen Starcraft in the same mould as World of Warcraft.
  5. Ultimate were always the best developer games I can remember back in my Spectrum days, Manic Miner and Jet Set Willie aside. US Gold always seemed to produce great games for the C64 and Atari 800XL, the Atari being both Cartridge and tape based always had an edge for the Arcade classics of its time, but think my favourite on C64 was Boulder Dash, dropping rocks and avoiding flashing squares to make diamonds you needed to collect. Absolute favourites on Amiga were Flashback, Another World, Cannon Fodder and Chaos Engine which I can't believe hasn't had a mention yet! Brilliant game activating nodes to transport to the next level. Sonic obviously was great when the Megadrive came out and it's sequels and the first EA FIFA Football, although you could always score from the righthand side half way line no matter which team you played as, EA Hockey equally as good! The first Tomb Raider when it came out on PS1 was amazing and the first EA Golf. And these days for Xbox... Love playing Battlefield, COD, Gears of War, amongst many others. Been playing Computer and Video games for over 30 years now and don't think I'll ever tire of them. Just don't get the time at my age of 42 now as I used to, maybe a couple of hours a week if I'm lucky.
  6. Yep, think that has to be one of my worst too, FA Cup 5th round replay. We went into a 2-0 lead before Rosenthal came on, finished 2-2 at full time and Spurs went on to win 6-2 in extra time. The 6th goal had Spurs queuing up for the shot along the 18 yd box before it was put away. Was a bloody freezing cold night too!!
  7. Bloody hell, been on this thread every night since it started quietly reading every post patiently waiting for confirmation that Ramirez has signed. When it finally did happen I fell asleep and missed it! At least I have my evenings back now!
  8. Why does Harry turning up now on this saga remind me of a couple of fishing rods, cans of beer and a bucket of fried chicken?
  9. Didn't think about the similarity when I posted the topic.... Mods any chance of changing title to Goodfella Henry Hill Dies?
  10. Don't know why but have a feeling our opening game will be away at one of the current top 4.
  11. Always used to use Microsoft IE, but after a few problems with it I started using Google Chrome. I've been using Chrome for at least two years now and IE in comparison is so slow and glitchy there is no way I'd go back to using it anymore. I even changed it over on my work PC as I found IE so slow. When I first changed over to Chrome I found the new menus and tools took a while to get used to but after becoming familiar with them I wouldn't go back to IE unless there was a significant improvement.
  12. Apparently died aged 69 in hospital after a long illness. I'm sure there will probably many conspiracy theories that will follow stating that he was finally 'clipped'
  13. Died yesterday, the day after his birthday. Despite the lifestyle he had it led to one of the best gangster movies as told in Goodfellas.
  14. What would happen if Chainrai didn't now pass the FL FPPT? Would he still be able to invest or bail out the club with funds without a current owner, could he help by funding the Admin until a true buyer is found? Whole thing is so messy now, I wasn't sure how things could move forward.
  15. Christ, makes it even worse. About time we pulled out of this nonsense competition and help it fold then, it's not as if any of the songs are judged whether we are in the competition or not, find another country to fleece for this ********.
  16. Don't understand the point of a competition that isn't a competition, the whole thing is utterly pointless and a total waste of money.
  17. I quite agree that it's good to see all the positive and fun side of social networking and is a shame a few can ruin for others, but as a high profile personality on Twitter and especially as a footballer it's obvious you will get abuse too from rival teams supporters. We've seen many a tweet from the team that has brought a smile to the followers that have posted them here but there's also a darker side that often have an opposite reaction too. Out of all the social networks Twitter does seem to headline the news when ever someone in the public eye makes a comment that anyone on Twitter can jump on. For that reason it's probably better that football players don't use it and concentrate on what happens with the team and on the pitch. Glad to see Lallana has dropped his Twitter account if it's causing him a problem. Maybe sad for his followers but sure he can do without the issues it appears to have brought him.
  18. Don't blame him for closing it to be honest. If I were in a position that could open me up as a target for vile and nonsense crap I wouldn't want to read it either. Don't know why so many famous or high profile people bother with Twitter anyway for some of the grief it seems to cause them. If they didn't use it in the first instance maybe they wouldn't be so bothered as they wouldn't receive so much such direct abuse. Out of all social network applications. Twitter seems the worst for causing problems for the rich and famous. Here's an idea... Don't use it.

    Yodel

Had similar problem with what was supposed to have been a next day delivery from Yodel. Didn't get my parcel after 3 days and called the supplier who considered it lost and sent out another using Parcelforce instead which did arrive the next day. Another day later and Yodel delivered my original one! Useless! Went to return the original back to supplier but they let me keep it as a goodwill gesture! So a bit of good came out of the bad.
  20. Don't use the ignore function myself, I tried it once fleetingly a few years ago but found it more irritating than the purpose I used it for so undone it within a few hours. Although the poster in question at the time went on a post ranting frenzy he did also offer valid argument. It wasn't until I couldn't see the posts and only the responses that I realised it's always worth reading each and everyone's post to see the overall perspective and opinion. Even the most irritating posters can still offer decent contribution to a thread at any time! Comments on various threads I don't agree with may annoy me from time to time but never felt I've needed to use the ignore function any further, after all I came to this site for opinion and discussion, even if I don't like what I read or the response I may get from time to time!
  21. Never understood how we get so much rain in this country and we get water shortages, yet go away on Holiday to countries that get sun all year around and little rain, they hose down their pavements every morning and have running water features etc without any shortage... Why do we struggle so much with water supply and hosepipe bans? What do these hot Countries do that we don't?
  22. Several good posts on this page of this thread, most noticeably by Franks Cousin and if everyone is behind the team on Saturday as the majority on here suggest then St Mary's will be immense on Saturday, the stadium absolutely rocking and behind the team with a roar of every kick to push us for that final win that takes us up!
  23. ********... Just realised reading this thread that I'd bet on a West Ham win to help me feel better if they did. As it has just taken this long to realise I guess it didn't work. **** it.
  24. Jokes aside, and after the last week I can understand where Alps is coming from. I'm as tense as hell. I know we should beat a poor Coventry side but stranger things have happened. That said, come Saturday its going to be immense and as we all will be, be fully behind us on the pitch, when our first goal goes in, I don't just want to hear St Mary's cheer I want to hear it Roar!!!!! COYR's!!!!!!!!
  25. Christ, I'm bloody tense!
