  1. That could just be to protect them to be honest. I doubt he'd be naive enough to think they wouldn't be harangued after recent events. It would probably be better to remove them from the situation than leave them to deal with that part of the fallout
  2. This is the way I see it too. I get the impression that the club is up for sale with NC at the head of a potential take over. KL may see this as a conflict of interests and possibly expressed this to NC and wanted to be involved to make sure that it was all above board, hence the bad feeling from at least one of them. It is her company so has the right to do this. With this assumption it would seem sensible for her to install a CEO to maximise her return and receive the highest price rather than just taking NCs word for what the club is worth. I think NC will be back with substantial backing. This is my opinion at least. We'll see what happens when the dust settles I suppose
  3. Aside from the parking charges (which go towards revenue and FFP) and changing the size of the programmes, how is that any different than before? Food has always been poor, weather is uncontrollable, the loos have always been to a minimum requirement and ticket office queues are inevitable. Unless I've missed your sarcasm, then carry on
  4. In all honesty I am gutted by this news, although it wasn't a surprise at all. The playing and backroom staff are all professionals and will continue to do the jobs they are paid to do, I am fairly certain of that. I also get the feeling that out club hasn't seen the last of Nicola. With no basis on anything, I really do think he has a plan b and will return. Not wishful thinking or anything, just an inkling.
  5. Ok, "guy" was probably the wrong word. Maybe I should have said owners. Its all semantics at the end of the day
  6. Hi all. I have just read this thread from start to finish and have seen nothing of a rumour I heard at the Burnley match recently. At the time I thought nothing of it, but given recent developments there may be (or maybe not) something to it. I was told that the guy who owns Sunseeker (official team partner, I believe) are lining up to take over the club from the Liebherr family. There was a sticking point over the valuation that was holding things up though. At the time I shrugged it off as terrace talk and took it with a pinch of salt. Like I said though, this is a rumour I heard and it may be absolutely nothing. That said, I thought it may be relevant to the thread so shared it.
  7. Nothing like a scapegoat, eh? You make it sound like he's the only one giving the ball away. At least he is trying to make things happen.
  8. My exact sentiments
  9. That would qualify Lady Gaga. Hmmmm
  10. Terry Wogan Bruce Forsythe George Bush Mikhail Gorbachev Bernie Eccleston
  11. Stuck in an office building in North Baddesley after answering an alarm call out. Power is out and it is blowing an absolute hooley. Tree detritus and fallen branches on the roads between winchester and here. Not as bad as I thought it would be, but still pretty bad
  12. The programmes I have are •Southampton vs Espanyol 11/08/2001 •Southampton vs Chelsea 15/08/2001 •Southampton vs Man City 1/11/2003 (I have 2 of these for some reason) •Southampton vs Leeds 17/01/2004 (again, I have 2 of these) •Southampton vs Everton 21/02/2004 •MLT Testimonial magazine May 2002 •MLT Testimonial program 14/05/2002 I also havea PFA players club magazine from 2004 with Tony Adams interview from his Wycombe says and also an article on Norman Whiteside. Also The Paul Walsh Story (official benefit brochure) Let me know if you are interested in any of these Thanks guys
  13. Hi all. I hope you can help. I have several old match programs that I am looking to sell. Can anyone advise me on the best place to sell them? Many thanks in advance
  14. Maybe sour grapes, but in essence he is right.
  15. A little unfair if truth be told. Opinions are opinions and don't warrant name calling. My opinion of our window and existing players differs greatly from Alpine's, but that's football and life. I think that DO, VW, and DL are as good a signings as we could have made and we really can't ask for or expect anymore. As for GR, I'm certain he will come good and be the player we signed.
  16. The Sun (I know) are reporting that we are set to step up our interest in Valencias Pablo Piata. Fingers crossed but not expectant
  17. I thought the Bale/Walcot money was an attempt to fend off a potential (at the time) insolvency and the money from Surman/McGoldrick was what kept us going. Even so, the Bale settlement did keep the wolf from the door for a while, although I think when Forecasts wages are taken into account, the deal probably cost us more in the long run
  18. It is nothing a ball bra wouldn't fix
  19. For me it would be: ---------------Boruc--------------- Clyne---Lovren---Yoshida----Shaw -----Schneiderlin----Wanyama----- Ramirez---------------------Lallana --------------Lambert-------------- --------------Osvaldo--------------
  20. I was going to suggest the same one. The end would need work, but as I'm no lyricist I thought one of the more talented posters may be able to come up with something
  21. Most of the England team are to be fair. Wrong selection and wrong system. Most of them are in there on reputation rather than deserving it. This is what is wrong with our national team. It is sad to see. Rio was spot on with what he said on the subject
  22. "That reactions was completely unlike Rickie." He does have form for it though. Wasn't it against Brighton he got sent off for something similar a few years back? That said, it isn't something he appears to do often.
  23. So are you now saying that if Fonte or anyone else up their game or improves, Lovren should still be played in preference as he cost more and was bought to replace? It seems a very simplistic and short sighted veiw to me if I'm honest. To replace suggests that the player to be replaced is surplus to requirements. This doesn't seem to be the case here. I would rather team selection was made based on form rather than transfer fee and perceived squad roles. I mean no offence, but I'm relieved that our management team seem to be more open minded and realistic in football matters. All my opinion though.
  24. To my knowledge, the club have never said that signings were made to replace anyone. It is only supposition from sections of the fan base that says otherwise. Signings are made to strengthen the squad and provide competition for places. So in answer to your question, we have signed zero centre backs to replace Fonte. Hope this helps.
