I was thinking that yesterday. Not enough to find out, but thinking none the less

:cool:;) Irregardless*is a word commonly used in place of*regardless*or*irrespective, which has caused controversy since the early twentieth century, though the word appeared in print as early as 1795. Most dictionaries list it as "nonstandard" or "incorrect" usage, and recommend that "regardless" should be used instead. That word is one of my pet peeves, so please excuse me jumping on the grammar bandwagon

Dejan Lovren hands in transfer request
saintmonkey1979 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I have to agree. The story is pretty much a carbon copy of the Adam Lallana one a few weeks back. The only difference is AL has been replaced with DL. I doubt it is the last time a journo will trot this out over this summer. -
I still think he could be. Personally I'd like to see him given another chance.

How are we being asset stripped? We still have SMS and Staplewood. Jacksons Farm is still ours too. The stadium and offices aren't being cleared for sale as far as I know. All that has happened so far is that a compensation for an employees contract has been agreed. Players are employees, not assets.

The new Guly judging by some reactions here. I'm prepared to give him a chance to **** up before writing him off completely -
Fellas, can anyone recommend a reliable garage for an MOT.....

Common Barn Autos on Allignton Lane. Used them myself for over 15 years and don't trust anyone else to touch my car. They've always been fair and honest with very reasonable labour costs. Good laugh too, to boot -

Would You Care If Pochettino Left Tommorow?
saintmonkey1979 replied to Pastor Patrón's topic in The Saints
Sorry Glasgow, I'm going to be a little pedantic over this. This isn't evidence. It is supposition that things possibly happening behind the scenes are providing a basis for. The Fa cup match has been done to death, I know, but MoPo put out a side that should have beaten Sunderland. Unfortunately they didn't perform. The fans backlash also doesn't suggest anything other than an optimistic fan base. The rest may or may not be as you suggest, but I just don't buy it. Silence from the club over contracts seems policy these days so maybe talks have been happening. The Spurs and Madrid links seem to be paper talk. Nicola leaving would have been the acid test but he is still here. The language issue has also been done to death and hasn't been any different since he arrived - certainly wasn't leaving then. As for the falling out with the players, after that performance it was more than likely harsh words and extra training. Not necessarily a bad thing imo. Strachan stopped talking to the players for days after a bad result, remember, long before he left. Please don't unfriend me for this though ;-) -
I really don't know why everyone seems to think Shaw will go. If we needed to sell, he would have been gone already. If he wanted to go, I think he would have been gone already, especially with all the recent turmoil. I haven't seen any evidence to support his leaving, just figures and rumours being bandied about in the press. Also, if the club needed the money, Osvaldo wouldn't have left on a free loan. I can see us strengthening over the summer rather than selling our talent. The only players who will leave are the ones the club see as surplus to requirements. I can't even see MoPo leaving. Maybe I live in a happier, fluffier place than some posters. I don't know. This club is not the club it used to be, for better or for worse and isn't currently a "selling" club. As far as incoming transfers goes, I would like to see Forster, Borini and Astori. Add to that our promising academy players and we will still be stronger in my opinion.

Where did you get my wedding photo?

You and bear are ok. Turks I as a *insert accusation* and GS is a witch! Hang him! For the record, I think Turks is a good poster on here and I don't think GS is all that bad really, despite his dark witchcraft. He added me as a friend so can't be that horrid :-)

We are Southampton, We're off to Brazil...
saintmonkey1979 replied to Beckenham Saint's topic in The Saints
The reason AC still gets the plaudits he does is because Liverpool once got their pants pulled down over a transfer fee for him. In my opinion his England career is based soley on a ridiculously inflated transfer fee that wasn't justified at the time and hasn't been since. SRL is in contention based solely on merit. He has plied his trade and performed at all levels now. That said, his recent form hasn't been great for whatever reason. Turning it on in front of Woy last week couldn't have hurt his chances though. -
The pressing game won't happen for England because players from the "big" clubs won't want to do it and their clubs would probably share the same view. RH is a yes man to the FA, PL and the top clubs. In my opinion anyway. I'd love to see some of our players in England shirts but realistically I think it will only be Adam

Have to share this. I play football in Winchester District div 2 and one of the lads in the team has made himself unavailable as he has been offered a trial for P****y. He is 21, so possibly a bit old, and I don't think his ability, while a good player, doesn't go much higher than local leagues. His trial has come about because his mum is friends with one of the board of directors. Times must be getting hard for our fishy friends if this is their recruitment policy

Would you change positons with Sunderland?

Still no, I'm afraid. I'm more than content with our current position. -

You're serious, right? You wouldn't take the consequences. You'd be calling for heads to roll, questioning decision makers, slating the players, the manager, anyone who reminded you that you said you'd take the gamble. As for winning a cup in recent years, did you miss the JPT? Ok, so it's not a major cup but it was relevant at the time and just the tonic we needed as a club after years of disappointment and suffering. I'd take where we are now over risking relegation to pursue a cup dream. I know I've just been trolled, but that really was a ridiculous notion baz -
Exactly my point

The worst? My memory isn't the greatest, but even I remember worse. Delgado, Ripley, Groves, Speedie, Beresford, Dia, Davenport, Jakobsen, Forecast, the list goes on. Hypothetically, if DO had stuck the nut on Jason Euell for instance, would there be an outcry like there is now he has done it to a fan favorite? I don't like to brand people with stereotypes or labels, but there seems to be lots of knee jerking and bet wetting going on here over this. Ok, it isn't a great situation and it really shouldn't have happened, but does it really warrant the internet firing squad?

They had the facts and made an informed decision. Which is why I wasn't refering to them. SWF users on the other hand...

Nope. That is why I mentioned users of this forum rather than saying "MP and his coaching staff".

I agree completely. There is no sense in making a challenge that causes a reaction that way in training. It was only Saturday that most of us were complaining about a challenge injuring one of our players in a match. Seems to me that people are very quick to make someone into a villian before hearing both sides. Heaven forbid it goes against any preconceived opinions. I just think many of the users on this forum need a scapegoat. Unfortunately for DO it seems to be his turn. That said, I am in no way condoning the reaction or retaliation. Just trying to add a little perspective
