  1. Just seen on Footie Whispers (yeah, I know) Gazza is being linked with Spurs. Seems unlikely, but fingers crossed [emoji13] Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  2. I seem to remember him getting one as part of a hat trick against Oldham too. We lost 4-3 as I remember. Obviously, I could very well be mistaken Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  3. It was only a few seasons ago when the same could've been said of a £16m transfer to Saints. Times change Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  4. Not a lot has changed though, has it? The club's stance is still the same. He is not for sale. That has been reiterated again by the manager today. He is not for sale. If he does go, it will still be on the club's terms, and for silly money, so the value of any transfer would remain unaffected. The club hold the all cards and have shown it. Again. 5. Micky Evans, Djemal Belmadi, Stern John, Ronnie Ekelund, Chris Baird Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  6. I assume that would mean Puel is staying and the 3 being sold are dissenters? Bertrand, JRod and Tadic possibly? The 5 incoming will be Puels choices? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  7. I seem to remember something about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer damaged his medial ligaments after sliding on hus knees during the '98/'99 champions league final. It may not have been directly responsible for his knee injuries that followed, but to me, it seems a little more than coincidence
  8. Dug out my JPT shirt for today. Not worn it since Wembley for the 2010 final. Got to be an omen. I'll be watching in The Stile as it's only a 5 minute stagger home afterwards. Getting really anxious now. Can't wait for kick off. COYS!!!
  9. Not really the case though is it. The players play well, other clubs take note, scout them, court them and make an offer. We can't compete with silly wage offers or the chance of honours so the players leave. It would be very naive to assume that we try to sell our best players. All it proves is that we have players that other clubs with greater means want.
  10. That'll teach me to read things properly. Me and the admin for that site ?
  11. Not according to this site http://sillyseason.com/salary/southampton-fc-players-salaries-79200/
  12. The better bet would be The Queen to be fair, especially if it is Wanyamas old gaff he moved into. Easy stagger and sway down Kingsgate Street
  13. That Palace have a full squad of 25 and we don't? Milan tried to sign him, so he can't be that bad. Do you want us to address the CB issue, or do you want to carry on complaining that we didn't? That is aimed at a what seems to be a majority on here, by the way. The situation is not ideal, admittedly, but this is the best opportunity to make the best of a ****ty situation.
  14. Yet we all carried on cheering Beattie, Fernandes and Guly (there may be more, but those 3 spring to mind more readily). But hey, beat him down before he has even kicked a ball for us. Makes sense
  15. Marseille is "miles away". Just sayin'
  16. I said similar last week after speaking to a former player. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?t=57809
  17. I'm not saying it is. I'm saying he's not chasing money and ambition. He wants to go home
  18. How is that so? He turned down big money to go to China. He wants to go home to France for family reasons.
  19. We could do a hell of a lot worse
  20. I was speaking to a former player today who still has a contact in the club. I'll be very careful with how I word this due to libel. It was said that Puel has had his hands tied as far as selection and tactics goes. The players aren't a particularly happy bunch as they know something is amiss with the senior management of the club. It would appear, as some on here have surmised, that there is some dishonesty from certain areas. Let's just say that the captain wasn't initially in the wrong. Also, Eric Black isn't the problem. Not especially well liked by some, but not the issue at the training ground. The players like and respect Puel, however, the manager is as unenthused by the way we are being made to play as the players are. His only fault, reading between the lines is that he has allowed himself to become a puppet. He also said, we won't get relegated, but if things continue as they are, we will struggle to match the previous 3 seasons as all of our teams are in the bottom half of their respective tables, with no stand out performers in any team. The academy has some good players, but the standard is not high enough to sustain the current business model, which also supports what Koeman alluded to last season. Something needs to change, but not where we think it does. This isn't a WUM post, no agenda (I have splinters in my are so am neither a wetter or clapper), just passing on the details of a chat with a respected former player
  21. Stop it. That doesn't fit the agenda so it can't possibly be true. How dare you let facts interfere with an ill informed vendetta [emoji85] [emoji86] [emoji87]
  22. That's the answer! Put the CBs up front!
  23. You do get that HE asked to leave right? That isn't the club trying to cash in on him. He was offered a new contract FFS. It's him wanting to play else where. Also, I don't recall many "thin" moments since he's been here, so that is slightly off target too. I don't want him to leave, but if he doesn't want to be here and has asked to leave, why not respect his wishes. Let's not make out that it is something it's not, eh?
  24. There may be something in this. Sky Sports reporting West Ham have had a £6m bid turned down. It's 50% correct anyway
