  1. Tom 28...i love that list... Fantastic list there and would be over the moon with that...lots of youth and pace...exactly what is needed Diouf never gets a game and would be great for a loan with view to permanent if we get promoted Adamoah would provide genuine pace and penetration.. McGugan can player accross the whole midfield and has excellent quality and Clyne could be the right back that could take us to the Premier league Some good suggestions there
  2. My only fault with Adkins was giving him a 3 year deal...Forte is never going to be good enough if we have aspirations to get to the Premier League... i think he is a League 1 player...or at best lower champ player. I watched him last night and he was poor...we are obviously looking for a striker and im sure come January we will get one, so would not be surprised to see him loaned out.
  3. I think the fact that Jaidi is a write off and so could Seabourne also...means we are very thin in this area. I think we should extend the loan until the end of the season and take it from there. From my point of view, we need to be adding players who are capable of playing in the top flight so there is no rush to make this permanent as im sure Celtic would let him have Jos until June. I do think we need to be pushing for another top centre half (left footed) to push Jos and give us more competition also so hopefully the scouting network is in overdrive. Would love Clyne from Palace at right back as well...
  4. anyone know if there is a link to the match to watch it online?...as some of us unfortunate one's can't make it to the match
  5. very impressed with Frazzer this season...he really looks like he has bulked up as well so never gets muscled off the ball i would still like to sign Nathanial Clyne to provide some healthy competition and would allow us to release Butters (who has been been very good but ageing)...it's just about improvement where possible
  6. I think we have a pretty strong squad but lets not kid ourselves, we defiitely need loan signings to push us on. Realistically are back up players like Holmes, Forte or Jaidi going to cut it?? Norwich got Lansbury on loan from Arsenal last season and he really made a difference, we need to make another centre half signing and a striker IMO. I don't know what is going on with Barnard, i have heard absolutely nothing from him this season, is he fit, when is his court case? It is about quality, im sure with our standing in the league and financial muscle we can get quality in, i just hope we don't wait until we get a few bad results to do so
  7. I think the crticism is bit harsh guys...i don't think Frazer has let anyone down and is pretty solid in the tackle and sound positioning. He does lack some pace and i admit that is something which saints in my opinion need to address accross the board if they want to improve. Whilst i would love to see a young right back with pace like Nathanial Clyne come in...and see Butters moved on, it doesn't seem in keeping with Saints approach to transfers this off season. I am pretty confused what their policy is to be honest as if you can get someone in who is better than what you already have, you should look at it, but saints seem to be fairing a bit by bit policy... We will see...it will be interesting to see how he fares against the likes of the better quicker wingers in the league like Kebe...by jan we will know for sure
  8. Fully agree Kraken...what is the situation on loans?? are we able to loan players with view to permanent as that might be the answer if Hooiveld isn't up to the job
  9. Guys we can keep saying well done to Cortese for not paying over the odds etc but the simple fact is that we didn't get the 2 players ie centre back and striker who could of made a difference to our season... You can dress it up however you want but that is bones of it. If we get to January 15 points adrift of the top 2, would it have been worth it? I am slightly worried by how active West Ham have been and whilst we no doubt have the better team spirit, team bond etc it is only when key players go down that we see the true strength of the squad. What if one of the golden trio go down ie Fonte, Lallana or Lambert??? Who comes in to replace them? I would say that that Fonte would be the guy who would be missed the most as our defence would be undone without him. I went to the Leicester game and the local radio were saying what a good side we were after the game but we had a poor defence and i think that will be our problem. Leicester and Ipswich we have conceeded 5 goals away from home and that was with Fonte carrying Seabourne, what if he is injured? We should of spent the cash on a quality centre half....they are out there and not neccesarily in this country but why oh why we did not address this is beyond me. And please dont say this Hooiveld fella because that smacked of desperation and he was obviously a real last stab in the dark...poor by Saints and confusing... Im sorry im all for giving someone a chance but the guy's pedigree is definitely up for debate and i do not understand the thinking...really angered me frankly given our great start and financial position. Does anyone know the rules on loans? i feel we MUST sign a centre half on loan when we get a chance
  10. The thing i don't understand is that we have had the whole summer to find a left footed centre half...we have a good scouting network supposedly...we definitely have money to spend so why not get somebody in of real quality at the back to compliment Fonte at the back and make us really strong at the back?? Really seems like we missed a trick in the window if im honest...Jemal deal collapsed, the Gorkss thing was a PR nightmare and then Fontaine had a crocked ankle.. It seems like we panicked and went for whoever was available on deadline day as 1/ they don't seem confident enough of his ability to give him the number 5 shirt 2/ It is a short term loan until January Personally we had made some cracking signings but the failure to get a centre half and a striker was a real balls up IMO and i hope doesn't cost us promotion. Oh i would play Martin on saturday btw
  11. Very poor by saints...all summer to get a centre halve...could of had Gorkss or jemal What a shame...and no striker to boot
  12. i quotes Baldock a few months ago as a player to sign...he is quick, young and we could get him at a decent fee around £1.5 mill... definitely think he would be a good option to consider if we are priced out the market for Rodriguez which looks likely
  13. I think Fontaine could be a good signing...we must trust NA here, he obviously rates him higher than Gorkss. In terms of Waghorn, im not convinced there is anything in this...i still think there is plenty of money in the kitty and we will hold out until late in the window to buy a striker. Maynard would be fantastic but looks unlikely at the moment..Rodriguez would be excellent but is overpriced...Ebanks Blake would be quality but Wolves won't let him go. I definitely feel the "pacey" option is a neccesity with our ability to play on the break
  14. Good level headed City fans view on Fontaine http://theatyeoview.wordpress.com/2011/08/24/liam-fontaine-4/
  15. This would make absolutely no sense to me. Leicester are a rival to us and we are both looking to sign the best players in the division, so signing someone not deemed good enough for their team makes absolutely no sense to me at all. Im pretty sure we can do better than this to be honest, link is from the star so wouldn't read too much into it and fourth official hasn't exactly got everyhthing right thus far
  16. Would be a poor signing IMO...surely this is what the scouting network is for? Killgallon does not fit with what we are looking for, we could better
  17. Cork with lallana a close second
  18. He was simply fantastic tonight....buy of the season We were fantastic tonight...cork, lallana and lambert pulling the strings Cork is the main difference though...20 mill for Henderson ha ha....750k for cork ha ha....mugs
  19. anyone going up from London today? ill be on the 4.30pm from Liverpool street
  20. At 6ft 2 in...he would also be a good replacement for Ricky... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erik_Huseklepp
  21. Well i would be happy with Maynard or Rodriguez....but i tell you what Huseklepp was a player who would be a great fit for saints...is a quick forward who can play either wing or up front and is an established international...with Bari in financial trouble...surely he would be a bargain would be gutted if he went to pompey http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11674_7101171,00.html
  22. Hardly best player but did okay...should of given a pen away by the sound of it as well...don't kid yourself...we need another centre half
  23. Great start but let's not get carried away...an injury to fonte, lallana or lambert and the season could spin on it's head. I think fonte holds that defense together, we need somebody else of quality next to him and add a top striker and we are looking really good....
  24. Clarets Twitter is going crazy...jay rod said good bye on the match ball apparently...something is brewing...
  25. Massive shame to lose Chamberlain but he is not an indespensible player like Fonte/Lallana or Lambert to saints. We will be getting very good wedge for him and if we replace him with someone with bags of pace (like Matt Phillips from Blackpool) and use the cash on a top striker, i think we will come out stronger as a result.
