We need to concentrate on getting the best players available...that should be the transfer strategy If we can get Banega for 9 million euro we take it, because he is a great player and a big upgrade on Davis. The new TV deal has allowed us, the likes of Norwich and Swansea to be more adventurous/aggresive in the transfer market. Toby Alderweild is the guy who should be priority 1 also...can play right back and centre back and is genuine international class, as opposed to what we have. Their is no room for sentiment and keep players like Fonte and Hoiveld...they aren't good enough and if we get the chance to replace them with quality, we should take it.

Absolutely agree...he would be immense and turn a weakness (defence) in a strength...we need to sort out central defence urgently...Yoshida is a good squad player but Hoiveld and Fonte are not good enough and creeping 30...get it done Don

It is no way good enough for the whole season...our defence was a massive weakness and showed that Fonte and Hoiveld are not up to standard...with both players nearly 30...they can't be relied upon Would be happy to sell either or both...Yoshida is a good squad player but we certainly need one more

Really like what Norwich are doing...£5mill for Fer is a steal and £2.5 mill for Olsson from Blackburn who can play left back and left midfield...surely we should be looking at this position?? Also looks like Aldervield is in Norwich at a bargain price...that would be 3 Dutch Internationals... Anyone else not worried about cover at full backs and a partner for Lovren??

Absolutely delighted by the seemingly imminent signing of Wanyama...really think he will make a massive difference to our midfield and bring a lot of qualities to our team...top top signing Can't help feeling we are still too weak in defence however...Lovren looks good, Yoshida is a good squad player...Forren is a massive unknown and Fonte and Hoiveld are poor and not good enough. Norwich are pushing for Toby Alderweild from Ajax...he would be fantastic for us and alongside Lovren really turn our weakness last season into a strength. Would really like to see a pacey winger, top drawer striker and a full back cover to finish things off

Cardiff fans really giving it the big one on their forum..."he doesn't want to go to Southampton" blah blah...not quite sure why they think he would prefer to go to a newly promoted side who have an inferior team... Whilst Cardiff aren't much smaller than Saints in terms of size...the fact that we are a year ahead, are getting recognition for being a very good football side and showing huge ambition...i don't see why he would choose Cardiff over Saints...unless he was offered £20k more a week, which i can't see

I genuinely would struggle to comprehend Wanyama choosing Cardiff ahead of Saints...going to a newly promoted club is always a big risk (with the exception of Monaco) first and foremost... Secondly Glasgow there is no way Cardiff are as big or bigger than Saints...and that's not with my Saints hat on either...Saints have more history, consistently higher attendences and our owners are just as if not richer than Cardiff's... Purely and simply it would be for financial reasons if Wanyaman chose Cardiff...fact

wow Swansea have now moved for Nasser Chadli and Bony...2 cracking players Chadli can play either wing and scores for fun...and yes he is Belgium...very jealous/annoyed we aren't in for him... he is like a much better/ more polished version of Ince...come on Saints !!!

Looks like Swansea are singing Wakaso from Espanyol...very good signing for £4mill...cracking box to box midfielder Just hope we are getting our ducks in a row and not shooting for huge names and missing some gems... Centre Mid is definitely an area we have identified...Wanyama would of been superb, but looks off...never thought Banega was quite right for us. Fer however would be superb... Really hope we get them in the next few weeks...would be so good to have them on the summer tour

Realistically guys...i think Hooper would of been a good signing last year but we are aiming for top 10 finish and i don't think he is the right guy for us. We need to push the boat and go for someone like Bony or Aubemang (St Etienne)...we definitely need more pace in the last third and i don't think Hooper is the right fit for us

why won't we be signing many players??? we have no right backs...left back cover is a problem...we definitely need another centre back...we also need a winger and a striker...we need 5/6 players Lets not forget we are not the finished article by a long shot...every team...even Barcelona needs to refresh their squads at the end of the season we have carried a lot of deadwood in the squad...so i expect far more outs than in's but let not kid ourselves that we only need 2/3 players

Mo Po stated that we aimed to get business done by 1st July as he wanted time for the players to gel...he also stated we were close to signing 2 players...this was quoted on BBC at the start of May
