  1. absolute rubbish again Nineteen canteen. We sold out nearly every prem game and genuinely thought we could of built a bigger stadium. The fact that attendences dropped was in protest at Lowe's mismanagement and nothing to do with supporting our club. We are a big club, the fact which was emphasised as we were bought by a Billionaire. You speak utter toilet, please leave this forum
  2. Nineteen canteen you speak rubbish im afraid. If lowe was still at the healm, the fool would of driven us to extinction by now. He is the most ignorant, self centred idiot in our clubs history. The sooner he is forgotten the better
  3. Good List Smirking Saint. I think obviously Jackson is the one we all want. I imagine he is on £4k max a week, so we would probably need to triple his wage to about £12k to get him to sign. I imagine a deal of about £1mill down rising to about £1.5 mill would be enough for the Gills to let him go. This signing would be great, plus he is bound to have a good resale value. Im sure he will go, depends whether a Championship club come knocking i guess. Craddock is another option for about £250k. I don't know much about him but he is supposed to be pretty good and quick. Webber - would be a great free McKenzie - on a free could be worth it. Pace is the key in the next few signings. Perfect Window - Jaidi free Jackson £1.5 Volz free Gradel 500k Craddock 250k
  4. forgot to add Delgado, bought for £3.25 mill released for nothing
  5. Yeah you could just see old Terry Cooper, our chief scout from Tenerife to be precise. Just hanging out the back of Lineker's bar, "hey Miguel stick on that La Liga would you son, im supposed to be scouting today". I always thought that was ridicolous, our chief scout in Tenerife, a lot of talent there but not footballers. I remember having this conversation at SMS with Lawrie about 2 and half years ago after just had lost at home to Sheff Utd. It is ludicrous. Good scouting is the only way small to medium size clubs have a chance for success. We have missed out on so many good players down the years through poor scouting. Even all our major outlays have bene disasters McCann -bought for £1.75 mill - released for nothing Delap - £4 mill - released for nothing Phillips - £3mill - £750k recouped Admittedly we got lucky on Jones and Crouch but lets not forget we let Adebayor and Drogba to name just two slip through our fingers when they could of changed the whole history of the club. A good recent example of our terrible planning was 2 years ago. As always Saints left their business too late and started the season with no fit centre backs and consequently were heavily beaten in the first game against Palace. Saints left it until the last week to sign a defender and over paid drastically for Thomas from burnley for £1million. In turn they bought Clarke Carlisle for £250k. Now who got the better deal. Carlisle is now a premier league defender and has not missed a game in 2 years, Thomas well....... Funny how when we needed a left back a couple of years ago, we failed to spot a player like Stephen Jordan on a free or failed to have the insight to buy a player like Eagles or Ebanks Blake from Man Utd. Scouting is key, the sooner we sort it out the better
  6. He in no way should be a paid professional footballer. Incredibly poor, no pace, weak, can't read the game, the list goes on. I feel he is more suited to local league or a team like Winchester or Salisbury. It would be great if Bournemouth took him on loan but i fear he would be found out at league 2 level as well
  7. P*ss off Sideburns, he is toilet !
  8. me too. Ironic really, i was playing football next to Home Park and we kicked a ball narrowly missing a guy who worked at the club. He was annoyed at first but then proceeded to give us a stadium tour. They were div 3 at the time and we were Prem, i remember thinking they would love to play a team as big as us, now they are in a league above!!!! Also worth noting that Saints vs Plymouth is not a local derby as some like to think. The ammount of people who said that to me, its 3 hours away !!!!!
  9. So lets be optimistic and realistic on new signings. On a positive spin, the loss has highlighted our weaknesses which is good in the long run. Off the back of that i still feel we need 2 centre halves 1 centre Mid 2 strikers assuming at least one of the Poish chuckle brothers leave so how is this Jaidi - free, assuming work permit comes in otherwise Sodje JPS - Free J.Jackson - 250k RM ??? Craddock - 250k B.Sharp - 850k Six players, do we have time??
  10. He would be a great signing. Would probably command about £1.5 mill, if we could stretch. I would personally be in favour of getting rid of the Polish chuckle brothers and getting in Jackson and Craddock. Dream scenario - Jackson Craddock Jaidi JP Saejis or Sodje (despite the fact he has a chronic knee injury, hence why nobody has touched him) CM??? RM???
  11. Its official boys http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1749364,00.html time to celebrate !!!!!!
  12. Surely we are just waiting on a work permit now??? im sure if a championship club were to make a move, they would of done it by now. In order to get a work permit someone has to go to London to sort it out etc, maybe this was done yesterday. I imagine the new regime are proefessional enough not to announce anything it is finalised. Also makes you wonder whether the echo get told anything as not only did they get his Nationality wrong but they didn't seem to have anything to back up their story. I think they have been shunned by the new regime
  13. This is painful now, what is the hold up???? i can only imagine now the medical has been passed, contract agreed, are we waiting on international clearance?? I need to get on with some damn work, i just need to know he is in the bag. There would be some very upset fans of this did not come off now. You know its a good signing when the Millwall and Charlton fans are annoyed they missed (BBC 606)
  14. I would love to pair Sodje up with Jaidi. My Leeds mate said he was awesome for them at the back end of the season and in 10 games built up a real cult following. The problem is however, he has dodgy knees and can't train (similar to Ledley King) this is why he hasn't been picked up. Obviously the last thing we need is another player with injuries. So how about the following pick ups Jaidi free Whitbread 500k Volz free McKenzie Simeon Jackson 500k Rickie Lambert - 1 mill Centre Mid ????
  15. Wow you guys really don't know anything at all with regards to speculation do you!! we are running a very tight ship at SMS right now.
  16. Really annoyed about this. This kind of b*llocks really annoys fans, they need to realise that. We used to get this under the Lowe regime. Nobody gives a monkeys about a radio gadget, sign some damn players!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Please stop signing off with "simples" Saint Richmond, its really annoying and not in the least bit funny. You sound like one of those kids off the Inbetweeners. Sort it out !
  18. He would be an excellent signing in my opinion and exactly what we need to beef up our weak defense. I can't remember the time when we were a threat from a set piece and he would be ideal. If we could pair him with Fortune is avaialble on a free then that would be ideal. Personally i think Perry is too light weight, Thomas is injury prone and Lancashire is simply not good enough. I think it would also send a message to a close rival in Charlton and the rest of the league that we mean business and have the financial muscle. Charlton are in financial trouble, so we should be able to more than match what they have offered Jaidi. Get it done Pards !!!
  19. Sorry but you are ridicoulously negative Big Chrisy. We are the wealthiest club in League one, the players mentioned are free agents and will be drawn to the size of the club and its long term ambition. Also look at Notts County, already after Billy Sharp. Get some balls !!! Pitman.... yeah if we were poor. Lester is about 36! Come now. Jaidi, Sodje, McKenzie and Holland would do for free's for now, followed by a bid for Billy Sharp and Ricky Lambert. Come on boys, we are in the big boys in this league now
  20. Stern does want to stay. I know this as he is having a baby with a friend of mine and therefore wants to stay close to his girlfriend and baby. He said he really didn't like his time down in Bristol, he was really miserable down there. Apparantly he didn't want to go but the club forced him out. Also there was no banter with Bristol players and he didn't have any friends there, apparantly Saints players always used to have team bonding on thursdays night and he missed the bond with the players. Personally i think it would be great if he stayed, he can be lazy but he can also make the difference in big games. I think the whole squad needs freshening up so i would be happy to lose Saga and Rasiak, keep John and then bring in one or two new strikers. Its looking like John will stay
  21. Totally agree about Whitbread and Lambert. I feel Pards is going to overhaul the squad and get rid of the losing metality. I would be over the moon with the following signings - Harding - done Volz Whitbread Sodje Hendry Ifill Delfounso (loan) Lambert Simeon Jackson Hows that??
  22. Yeah we really need to make some moves pretty soon. Without sounding like a small impatient child and with 2 weeks until the season starts, Pards needs to get a detailed analysis from Henderson about what we need and get cracking this week. Really we need to be signing the best players available and look to mesh them into the team. For a start our squad is thread bare and trying to play a 46 game season, plus 3 cups on top requires serious squad depth. Providing Euell and John sign, this would feel like 2 new signings. We really lack any influential players in the team, leaders are needed. I feel a player like Graham Kavanagh would be good to bring some steel into the team and allow players like Schneiderlin to play. We also lack creation from the middle of the park, Quashie would be very good but i feel he will want a championship club. Obviously competition on the wings is a must as Thomson is not yet strong enough and may be worth another loan at Bournemouth and Holmes is very injury prone. We could also do with boosting our attack and getting in some steel at the back, here are some suggestions Centre back - Sam Sodje free Patrick Kisnorbo free Godwin Antwi free Zak Whitbread 250k Jack Hobbs loan Right back - Phil Ifil 250k Graham Murty free Left back - Dan Harding free Michael Ball free Rene Steer free Matt Richards Centre Midfield - Amaury Bischoff free Graham Kavanagh 100k Nigel Quashie loan Matthew Holland free Claus Jorgenson free Right Midfield - Paul Ifill free John Oster free Striker - James Scowcroft free Rui Fonte free David Connelly free Collins John free Steve Kabba free Leroy Lita free Michael Mifsud free Stefan Moore free Vincent Pericard free Sibierski free Lambert £1mill Siemeon Jackson - £500k Just goes to show the talent available on free's. We could get our squad together by paying absolutely nothing. I think there are some very realistic targets there and more importantly better than what we already have. Thoughts people ???
  23. My feeling on the managers out there are thus Strachan - fans choice but arguably could walk in to a Prem job and may want to take a risk that would hurt his manager stock Keegan - Big name but out of the loop football wise and would not know the players we need. T Adams - PR disaster and not wanted by the fans S Cotteril - Good with lower budgets but would not give the "bums on seats" appeall or spark the fans imagination. A more realistic option if we had less of a financial backing Wise - Bad press since Newcastle and been there with Saints. Not sure the ****ney wideboy approach would work with our set up Boothroyd - stock has been damaged after a sacking from Watford, one season wonder or talented young manager?? Poyet - Not talked about but could be a real dark horse. Fresh, young, good contacts and big reputation . I like this appointment personally Gross - Bad rep in England but did wonders in Switzerland. Would he take the job?? would we want him?? Hoddle - Out of the game a long time and divides the fans. Contreversy which im not sure the new owners would want Tisdale - small name, carving out a big reputation. Has done wonders with Exeter but this is a MASSIVE step up. Essentially Saints are a wolf in sheeps clothing with our potential but could he realise it??? Conclusions - Based on the current crop being banded about, it probabaly comes down to these three - Boothroyd - Poyet - Tisdale My vote - Poyet Thoughts ???
  24. I think we need to get back to a winning mentality and he had that with Watford. If you look at Billy Davies, not great football but results. We are in a results business and our owners are going to want a winning team by any means. I think Boothroyd has a good knowledge of the lower leagues and can hit the ground running. We have a lot of work to do in a space of 3 weeks to get in at least 6 players, im hoping our scouts have at least identified potential new signings. Poyet i feel would work nicely also, he has worked with Leeds, knows the continental market and i feel he would be a good candidate also. My worry with Keegan is the lack of knowledge at this level. I remmeber him coming into the Newcastle set up last year and commenting he didn't know who half the squad were. God knows what he would think of Pulis, Wotton
  25. Cheers Tony, Personally i think we have all moved on from what has happened. Objective has been achieved and we can all move on. I am pleased you don't think it is going to be Adams, i think the new owners would be mad to appoint someone to upset the fan base like that. On reflection and taking Strachan and Coppell out of the mix, i have been left with two candidates i think would be right for the club. Boothroyd or Poyet would for me be excellent appointments, who i think could fulfil the criteria needed and a long term plan. All the best Tony on your new ventures, its a shame it didn't work out for you but everything happens for a reason and i think the club is now in a strong position. Hopefully this can be sorted asap as we have a lot of work to do in the transfer market, i wou,d say at least 6-7 players needed and contracts of existing players to be resolved. Here is hoping we get the right guy captain to steer the ship
