Here at this time when so many things seem to be piling up against us as Saints, take a few moments to listen to the great man's message. His plights were way worse than our's, with ultimately way worse consequences and he used positivety and power of belief...which is what we could all use towards our vision of a better Saints. A lot of this is not relevant, but quite a bit is if only for the understanding of what can be achieved from terrible low(e)s (sic) with a united belief and voice. Not trying to preach here, just uplift us all...pretty groovy too if you only like the Fingers Inc classic. COYRs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tS0zmgAcoxs p.s. Today is MLK Day...a man that will become a true Saint someday.

Thanks for the update mate! Does that mean a) All those classic posts lost in cyber interspace? b) They are readable somewhere? c) Time for 'Soul Cellar III' obviously in the appropriate forum?

...and subsequent Soul Cellar threads?

I totally care what Nick says, not saying I agree with it, but completely respect it. Nick has been hard core Saints ever since I can remember. He, like most of us, wants what's best for the team and the fans. I will read and choose to disagree/agree with his illiterate but inteligent view and will carry on having less respect for those that name call due to a difference of opinion and who post those childish crazy eyed emoticons. When you disagree with another Saints viewpoint that does not make them an 'idiot' - 'fool' etc, it just highlights someone's potential lack of comprehension. This ain't personal against anyone, let's disagree and debate, it's healthy. We will never all agree, but if we embrace a common goal, say relative success for the team and enjoyment/happiness for the majority of fans, then we can hear others viewpoints and hopefully strengthen.

I truly believe this to have been an admirable experiment in our dire financial situation with JP etc. I am the most positive Saint there is, however, it maybe time now to get some help. Yes I want to play the right way, love the FACT we use our nippers, play with willingness - not just going through the motions. I just think we need someone with their finger on the pulse coaching/management wise. A person with true Southampton and Southampton fan comprehension. Let's get the unblemished hero that is Nick Holmes back where he belongs at SFC. Let Jan do all the great coaching he does at Staplewood and let St Nick pick the team and work the game day strategies, employing his tactical nuance if things change during matches. If we can't afford Nick on top of the others then we should choose whether he would be more value to the Saints than one of the other group of coaches. Nick would be a win-win for us even if the dreaded 'r' word happened he would be a leader that we all could relate to, get behind and support. Most of all a true Saint with a fantastic disposition that the kids could want to emulate.

Shooting practice required - many efforts off target. Let's shoot between those white things boys.

WOW!! You mate are either insightful or know something we don't FFS - good job.

What a tremendous picture you've painted there mate, very well put. We should stick to the program, stay up, improve and who knows...

There are numerous success stories, however, I am not talking about buying an established 'star' of the American game, more about about picking up a hidden gem, an up and coming player or a good nipper. There are also great non-US players to pinch as well e.g. Shalree Joseph.

Saints Greatest XI - Nominations For Best left Side Striker
TijuanaTim replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
Ron-Ron 'me heads gone' Davies Give it to Ro-o-on Give it to Ro-o-on On his he-e-ead On his he-e-ead Oh and thanks St Landrew for doing this... -
Totally understand and respect what your saying, you make a valid point. Just as a heads-up I do come home (normally) at least 2/3 times a season and take in several games. Recently I have been to Derby, Norwich, Ipswich twice, Wolves to name but a few + numerous home games. I also take in all the pay-per-views, webcasts and Setanta games. All-in-all I have been able to watch about 20 Saints games a season since we've been down and more than that in the prem. IMHO, that maybe not as many as you but more than many posters and, for that matter, more than a lot that call Radio Hampshire. I also raise 'Guide Dogs For The Blind' and have several blind friends that are Saints (or other sports teams) fans..are they not allowed to have opinions about their team(s)? I am truly sorry if anything I have said on the show has offended you, I just try to point out the good and positive stuff..Lord knows there are enough that can't wait to talk the negative side. If you go tomorrow enjoy the game, it is not available here except commentary tomorrow so I will listen, call my son and best friend (he goes every game) and if I feel like making a comment I will.

Good point, I thought of that. The players that would suit our puposes best are a) young and like with Kyle Davies you can work round it. b) Hold British commonwealth or European status. c) Are internationally well qualified enough.

I know two lads called RON 'n' AL will they DO?...sorry that was lame...

Yes...you mostly took the p!ss - not quick enough for CCC and all the usual. I think he will be another astute WGS acquisition. Know I harp on about it a bit, but it is a good way to go. Get these excellent MLS kids on a 'loan' til the US league starts in late March...you can see if they're any good 'fast enough for CCC' etc and just cover their modest wages. If they're not up to it then eff them off, if not acquire them...no harm no foul. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11787_4801725,00.html I have submitted a detailed dossier to SFC/JP of potential and salary requirements for some prospects, if they use it fair play, if not at least I tried to help our Saints. Better than me just blabbing about them or whinging on here huh?

"Embracing" rather than kissing mate ;-) and we won 4-0, I notched two and had an assist from the right wing so very happy...also, my team is German, The Phoenix Club and I turn out for a PortuDutch combo Artesia on a Sunday. Yes we are due a home win, so enjoy the lovely French Vino Colapso/Cognac and get a clear head for the game !!

27 big ones is not as bad as some on there...let's face it we have Prem everything besides maybe team and board currently. Beautiful Stadium, training pitches, state of the art facility at Staplewood, terrific youngsters improving weekly and fantastic fans - most of all huge potential....a way better investment than, let's say pompers...clinging to prem life with a massive wage bill, debts, an antiquated p!ss-stone of a ground, (very good tbf) journeymen pros that could gives two schits who they play for as long as the bills are paid and the WAG not whinging...zero home grown talent and no future!!!
-
Hey, I resent that Col...it's "Crazy (Again)" or "Loco"...not just 'crazy' FFS ;-)
-
...but kinda feel good about this week. Coming off a win at a 'home fortress' and without letting a goal in. This feat was extra special as we played two debutants in defense where continuity is essencial. From a coaching viewpoint it's a really hard thing to achieve what was done last week with two brand new players in your back four. Nice finish by DMG and the shape of the side more to most fans liking as well!! Get behind that rojo y blanco maquina amigos!! Fill Santa Marias with passion and let's see our hombres blast some golazos!! Maybe this week I sound a little more loco than crazy...
