  1. Help a 'challenged' ex-pat out, how the heck do you get these links to work on an iPhone?
  2. Thank you so much for posting the match link, it helped a lot of us overseas Saints!!
  3. Didn't turn out so well, sounds a really nice and well adjusted young fella tho'. Good luck to him.
  4. Love to play with the team again, just getting over surgery so out of action til late Apr, early May....any other opportunities arising around then as I may take another trip home? It is always a privilege playing with you guys...hey and as a selling point, we're undefeated when I play ;-)
  5. Would that be "be" or "being", Mr. kpotkettle
  6. Yeah, like his two (winning) goals against the reigning champions last week were also "non-existent" maybe in some people's eyes, none so blind as those that can't see. Oh and Blakey sorry to have upset you and ruined you day yet again, it is honestly not my intention sir, you're entitled to your opinion even if a shade sensitive and defensive. Have a nice day, it's awesome out here, so I hope all is well with you guys. My work here is done.
  7. Two assists and a real threat all games to follow up his brace against United. Talented player.
  8. Guys he's thick as thieves with his 'besty' MLT....need we say more?
  9. Southampton - globally dominant, we added a few shots.
  10. Age??? Never bothered me for goodness sake, I have children older than most of you lot ;-). I'll be back for the Chelsea, Villa and City games if anything is occurring.
  11. Thank you Turkish sir...8 defenders - 5 attackers....er one defender on each post, every one of the 5 Sunderland players marked and even one spare to follow the ball. Case closed 1–0, three points. Besides that we did really well.
  12. Hello manji my lovely, 2 out of 4....not bad for you mush, normally you're 100% fabrication, the two right ones are, yes I do live in the US and I can also confirm your opinion that I know what I am talking about, so thanks. I also play with lots of our excellent co-posters on the Saints Web team, do you? Oh how silly of me to ask that, of course you don't and we all know why right LMFAO. Nothing personal of course, just going on what we are told....
  13. Hello mate, how you doing? Hey you should know as you come from my manor. In the 70s if we finished work at lunch we'd use The Spinni', then the Scullards in town, sometimes the Louis, but that was normally after the game and before we went home. The Haymarket had lost it's relevance before I was old enough to be a regular though I had been in there many times (non-football related) with Glen Giles RIP and Colin Joel. We all went in the Warrens though I was never real regular. By the time the Wagon came to prevelance (80s) I was involved in Hants League football so not doing many games as the 70s as we played 42 games a season in Hants 1. Always went there before mid-week games and frequently on a Friday night. You are quite right about Squires as well, I missed almost a whole season as worked there full time from July 72 until the Aug 73 and had very few Saturdays off. It was a great laugh, the town was buzzing in those days, as a bonus I could get the whole day off to travel to away days. Did you use the Wagon/Warrens much? I ask because the only one for our patch that did was Gilo and Glen passed away a while back.
  14. You have a good memory sir, I started there 41 years ago last week and worked full time (not just Saturdays) until I started my apprenticeship, which as you know start in September. I worked there and Sergio on Saturdays through the summertime a couple of other years later also. By the time the Cup Final came I was long gone - so not guilty y'honour on the cream suits!! I remember that watch too, when I was down at the pub in Swansea with Malc Lovejoy and others about three months ago, I coulda sworn you were still wearing it ;-)
  15. Charlie crept up behind one of my best mates a real old thug called Joelly at Netly Central on a darts night a few years back and said 'guess who?', Colin said he hadn't seen Charlie since the old Haymarket (also with topless barmaids) back in about 71. Seem to remember Boyd was mates with Mick Stiles...who disappeared off the face of the Earth.
  16. With glasses these days it seems....whatever happened to the long hair and 'tache'?
  17. S'right, he always had OE Sheepdogs, I am a Lab man raising Guide Dogs these days so could talk canines as well as SFC. I forget which park it was, but when we played So'ton Sunday Prem games there he would frequently walk around with his dog, maybe making sure we behaved ourselves on his manor.
  18. I'll give him a bell....taking the 8 hour time difference into consideration of course, he ain't the right bloke to p!ss off.
  19. May well have been me. If mentioning Killer and Bootsie, that would have been about the characters that were around at the time as both of them may have had other things keeping them away from that game that night. I was right by Dougal at the end when it got really dodgy, it was a Friday night game and all hell broke loose....we went down on the train from Central with AJ, Alex Mac, Rob Jewwitt, Boo-Boo and a bunch of other Frontline Saints from the Western Wards of Fareham Gilo, Stubbington Jack, Bim etc. It seemed like an army and upon arriving we promptly went straight in the Fratton End...not one of our better decisions. Because of the lack of games v the skates we had no idea about just how many they had plus the massive, violent hostility towards us. It was a real eye-opener, we got pressed out of there and under the side enclosure where most of the Thornhill and Sholing lads were . Right before kick off it went off on the pitch, a couple of skates ran at us with and banner and were quickly 're-directed' back to their appropriate area by Gary Clements, Kev Cousins and (I think) Steve Taylor. In the game, i think we were 0-5 up by the half, humiliating their 'keeper John Milkens whose testimonial it was. To be fair there was a bit of a mass exodus at HT, no one faint of heart stayed. The lad whose dad owned a hardware store Rob O'D was it? Was on crutches (which could be utilized, if you get my drift) and Dougal told all of us young 'uns if we thought we were going 'we'd have to go through him first', not an appealing option. We won 0-7 and there was only a small band of us left at the end. The gauntlet back to Fratton station was a 'mare, pretty well everyone took a bit of a slapping. We were so different to them, there was no hiding. We were all growing longer hair, Rupert check and channel pleat trousers, Flemings jeans and penny collared shirts, whereas they were all still skins and suedes. The scenes at Fratton station were chaotic, the filth lost all control, besides winning the game and embarrassing them and one or two events we were pasted and almost completely overwhelmed....quite different from when we went back - especially in '84.....'live and learn' It would be fascinating to see some stats from that night...i.e. scorers and attendance. I would be surprised if we took 4-500 there.
  20. Bootsie was around for sure in those days, he kinda moved in different circles though. Bootsie's closest mate was Killer (not kidding you younger posters) Calloway. There was a lot from over the Wimpson area. John (Dougal) was more of a renegade, he his own little crowd of rogues that looked like they'd be more at home at a Sabbath concert. Big, long-haired and older than most of us. Intimidating looking like a Viking raiding party....been reminded he lived over by Fleming Park. Seriously, does anyone know his status?
  21. Senior career?? They'll change that soon huh... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leandro_Damiao

  23. Was asked on the other site if he was still amongst us. Last time I was back and with some of the old Milton Road guys at Swansea no one mentioned anything drastic having happened to him, only Malcy said that he hadn't spoken with him in ages...So hopefully the big fella's okay. Has anyone seen or heard of/from him in the last few months? Thanks.
  24. Mark Psycho Dennis and my dear departed mate Big Ron, RIP
