  1. Sunderland players knew where they had to be, Moyes changed it at 10 minutes and the game settled to stalemate , when the centre forward is back in midfield just in front of his own full back it shows the system isn't understood by the players, they don't instinctively make the right moves, find the space or make the pass. How can the club sell us the story that all thru the club will play the same way to give continuity then bring in a manager ( who we should not of needed!) and allow him to change the system? We have the players , what we don't have is a manager who understands the players we have , who last year played here and finished in a European position yet this year don't seem to have ever played together before
  2. Moyes worked us out after 10 minutes and the game changed, we no longer made instinctive decisions J Rods goal masked a poor performance, we have the players its the tactics that are wrong
  3. not a disaster , Tadic is trying to do it all , we were close to them and if we'd taken one of those chances who knows how we would've reacted
  4. So at what point do we stop selling ? even with all the extensions signed we still have moved out 3 very significant figures from last years team, its ok arguing that it because they have proved themselves that 'bigger' clubs want them but at what point do they all decide actually i'm better off at Saints? how do we make that transition? Wet Sham have not been raided , Leicester lost one major player , We appear to be changing from the style that has won us admiration , and our players moves , so maybe that's the plan , less desirable football , means players not in the shop window, rather we continue with the old systems where we can interchange personnel and still be successful , or have we been punching above our weight? have we got lucky ? is this the WGS to Woggy change that Rupert masterminded or will we be announcing two big signings that will really want to be part of the next chapter of Europa league and flirting with CL qualification? Much as I dislike them Spurs have moved on from selling to Europa and now into the CL , my fear is we've settled for a profit and securing the big names to secure future profits
  5. Well a good manager has a system that suits the players , not a system that he shoehorns the players into, first half looked very much like the players didn't really know where the next player was or was going to move to 2nd half improved as it looked more like a 4 3 3 at times . Last season the management tweaked the system to suit the players and turned the season round, lets hope we are not about to waste valuable points to try and enforce a system the players are not really comfortable with. We either need players who suit the system bringing into the club or revert to the system the club has followed that has allowed managers and players to come and go but still move forward Tonight after watching that performance its glass half empty , and for Puels first report , could do better

  9. What I find difficult to understand is that everyone had the opportunity to vote, some did , some didn't Those that did accepted the right to vote in a UK referendum, it wasn't a referendum for individual countries or areas or regions or age groups, it was a referendum for all. The Scots had the opportunity to leave the UK but decided to stay and thereby accepted that they could have decisions that affect them decided elsewhere by not just the English but the Welsh and Irish. The principle was simple , in or out, remain or leave, the biggest pile of ballot papers wins and we reaffirmed that in 2011 We need to forget who voted this way or that , there's a new game to be played the old game lasted 40 years and that games over, so strike up the new game , be glass half full and look at it as an opportunity not a missed opportunity Last seasons finished look forward to the new season the new team , the team last year made decisions that cost us points, but likewise they made decisions that led to the highest finishing place in our Premier history, who's to say we won't do better next season , and the UK well look at it as a new season
  10. first past the post = leave 70/30 referendum result in 2011 backed the principle of first past the post
  11. Has to be one of the club's best signings, certainly under the current ownership,
  12. Promote Erwin to manager ?
  13. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3500831/Erwin-Ronald-Koeman-father-Martin-proud-Southampton.html ‘I think we need to be patient. You can spend more money for even better players, but everyone has more money. And the high-quality players like to go to Man United; they don’t come to Southampton, they don’t come to Everton.’ Still, the Koemans are enjoying the current state of play in the Premier League. ‘Everyone likes the Premier League because we are not like Paris Saint-Germain — champions three months before the end of the season. There is no emotion. Football needs to be emotional. In the Premier League, it’s unpredictable and that’s nice.’ And, doubtless, dad would have approved as well. Hmm doubt he'd approve now !
  14. If it was the Common Market , yes I'm old enough to remember its original advertising , then all the trade arguments would be sound, but its the only true unknown and I don't trust any of the economists or bankers the blurring is the 'trade' agreements however as its perceived that the UK is one of the few to abide by the 'rules' I work for a 'European' based manufacturer who sell worldwide, a big chunk to the automotive industry, but whether were in or out of Europe wont affect our sales to the English speaking markets Trouble is it goes beyond trade, its immigration, laws and thats not the original Common Market and by leaving the control would again be in the UK for anything on our shores and that's a predictable outcome Simple View - Common Market = Good Single European Government = Bad
  15. A decision he made on a guess at best , there could be no 100% as it was hidden from view, still his agent will be pleased his name will fill the back pages
  16. Will Sky be at Wimborne Town waiting for Arry Redcrapp to leave in his car with Rosie?
  17. gets my vote, simply because the tune is so simple
  18. Byram , after watching Forest v Leeds I'd take him in Jan, Leeds will cash in
  19. Drop Pelle and push Mane forward, why not try Juanmi, he looks like he has a killer pass in him, removing Pelle would refocus the attack, then take out VW and replace with AR Still not convinced that HR shouldn't be playing instead of Clasie who so far has looked anything but. Each time we sub off Davis we look worse, Back 4 I'd stick with along with Gazza Long is the last chance sub, someone to run around and maybe get a pen or force a mistake , he's not a starter in my view

  21. Hope the club recognise this award on the big screens at the Swansea game and that the crowd chant Frannies name loud and clear
  22. Charlie Austin would not replace Pelle, he could replace Long though, the issue that Pelle has is the midfield breaking to be close enough to pick up the ball from his knock downs
  23. Well I'm told VM is angling for a new contract and pay rise , not a move, he's also been spending money on what could either be souvenirs or to show his commitment. Whether that's true or not there's certain members of Saints staff who would 've been on holiday but had their plans changed so that's either for ins or outs.
