Just like when he came on in last home game he made some great runs into space (in his interview he said he focuses heavily on his off the ball skill) but the midfield rarely read his runs so it was wasted. He got himself into good positions in front of goal but I couldn't help but feel the pressure got to him when doing the sticking it in the net bit.. That said when he settles in I think he'll be class and rebel's being a bit harsh.

At the chairmans meal Nicola was asked how long he would give Nigel if things start to go badly... His response was simply 2013..when his contract runs out. I get the impression Nicola hasn't got a bad word to say about Nigel at the moment and rightly so IMO. 2nd in the league is acceptable right now I'd say.... As others as mentioned I think injuries have had a big impact since November and we're getting out the other side of that now. Even stronger with the new additions..

Officials were indeed shoite. Interesting that Nigel said reeves goal was onsite but didn't suggest millwalls third was off as looked well offsite from where we were. Despite losing I think we played well from 40 mins onwards! If it wasn't for that last (offside) wonder goal and had gone on to win it then surely those who were there would also recognise that we showed some really good skill at times. Lallanas goal being one moment and a few of the chances Tadanori should have put away...

Well, didn't see that coming. Robbed. Lee could have had a hat trick if he wasn't having a puncheon day in front of goal. Certainly didn't play badly but didn't shut up shop when it mattered

Right from the off Cardiff were VERY loud and it felt a little embarassing again that we were being outsung. But second half everyone really turned it on and there was cheering and singing from all stands. Seemed to really get the players going and really felt like the second goal was coming.

Would there be much chance of repercussions for that refs awful Performance? He should get a suspension for that shocking refereeing

Spoke to Nicola about transfers as we were leaving from the dinner Thursday and he explained about how it's not always straight forward getting the players you want but when questioned about the rumour that two signings are progress he was more interested in where I had heard that rather than denying it or letting on anything.. During the meal he was quick to point out that we have lots of players coming back into the team and compared the number of players we have overall with Barcelona and other successful clubs. Don't think it is believed that there is a serious requirement for more players, and have to say I agree with that. It's all going to come together now as we push for promotion imo. That said, Nicola is insisting that we want to win the league, not just get promoted so who knows if it will be regretted if a lack of signings becomes a cause of us not being promoted.....

All I heard on the radio ten mins in was "we love you Southampton" song. Guess that wasn't milwall.

He was asked about twitter and said if that's the way players express there feelings these days then so be it. Don't think we'll be seeing him on there anytime soon though Think a certain persons recent rants brought about the reinstatement of their position somewhat... Twitter does have its uses it seems.

As sotonianproud mentioned, the main revelation was the ticketless system they will be bringing in ready for next season. Will be useable for tickets, in the shop and in concourse etc. Staplewood work has started. Bulldozers due very soon. Cortese promised Saints will NEVER get relegated while he is in charge and has never discussed selling the club with owners. The plan is to only plan further down the line when in prem. Didnt take it to mean they would sell after season in prem though after he was pushed on that comment. Real focus on development of academy players to get them into first team Can't remember much else.. Maybe once I've sobered up I'll remember more

Haha, made me chuckle Yeah I did attend and it was a truly brilliant night. As mentioned above though i'm sure no one really feels like rushing on here to post what was said as it will get torn apart and a negative slant put on any news (yeah I know that's rich... ) All I would say is Cortese comes across really well and I have no doubts he's the best person to be in charge.. And my SWF chums, he's often closer than you think
